Introduction Mental health-related stigma occurs not only within the public community but is also an issue among healthcare professionals. The relationship between national culture and provider stigma remains yet to be empirically attested. Objectives We performed a cross-sectional multicentre study across 32 European countries to investigate the attitudes of psychiatrists towards patients with mental health problems. We aimed to examine the relationship of attitude with country-specific indicators. Methods We measured stigmatizing attitudes using the Opening Minds Stigma Scale for Health Care Providers (OMS-HC) within an online survey among specialists and trainees in general adult, child and adolescent psychiatry. Its total score was correlated with the Human Development Index (HDI), the Democracy Index (DI), the Social Progress Index (SPI), the number of psychiatrists per 100,000 people, and the Hofstede dimensions. Latent class analysis was done to find subgroups of countries according to the stigmatizing attitudes of psychiatrists and the six Hofstede dimensions. Results Altogether, n=4245 participants completed the survey. Introduction Suicide represents one of the most discussed mental health issues in the world today and health challenges for the future. The burden of suicide is calculated in very high numbers (800 thousand people per year) by the WHO (2014), ranking it among the other most frequent causes of death. The key criteria to determine suicidal or non-suicidal behavior is the presence of intentional self-injurious behavior, in which the individual intentionally attempts to harm himself. Objectives: Aim of the study: was to make a presentation and evaluation of the demographic and clinical factors of suicidal self-injurious behavior in patients hospitalized Methods Patients’ data were obtained from the archived clinical files of the Psychiatric Emergency Department and other wards at “Xhavit Gjata” Tirana Psychiatric Hospital. The method used is a descriptive retrospective study of patients admitted during period of January-May 2019. About 75 archived clinical files were thoroughly studied and analyzed, on various demographic and clinical variables. Results Albanian women remain more at risk for suicide attempts, while male suicide mortality is higher, as in the world. Higher determination and the use of more lethal methods ranked among the factors contributing to the higher mortality of men. The 29-49 age group is the most affected in our study according to suicide attempts and self-harming behavior. The most pronounced accompanying diagnoses of suicide attempts are major depressive disorders, but not leaving behind psychotic disorders. The average length of stay in the hospital is 18.4 days. Conclusions The deepening of knowledge on the etiology, on the factors influencing suicide and on the methods of treatment are only some of the issues facing public health today. Identification of self-injurious behaviors pave the way for treatment and assistance for anyone considering suicide. Disclosure of Interest None Declared

Introduction Erving Goffman described stigma as an attribute considered to be undesirable and unpleasant by society and which differentiates the stigmatised person from other members of the community that he or she should belong to. (Hankir AK, et al., 2014). Mental illness has been always associated with stigma, moreover people with serious mental illness have higher rates of mortality and morbidity. (Patrick W. Corrigan, et al., 2014). The contact mental-health-care professionals have with people with mental illness is associated with positive attitudes towards civil rights, however it does not reduce stigma as does social contact such as with friends or family members with mental illness. (Henderson C et al., 2014) Objectives This is the Albanian substudy of a larger multicenter study. We aimed to investigate the attitudes of specialists and trainees in psychiatry in Albania. Methods An anonymous online questionnaire was sent by email to the participants. We used questions on sociodemographic and professional details as well as requested personal information regarding their lived experience. The self reporting Opening Minds Stigma Scale for Health Care Providers was used to measure stigmatising attitudes, which contains 15-statements and 3-subscales: Attitude, Disclosure and Help-seeking and Social distance. Results Altogether 59 professionals completed the questionnaire, 59% of them worked as adult (n=35) and 41% as child psychiatrists (n=24). 58% were specialists (n=34) and 41% trainees (n=24). Based on their responses, 12% of them (n=7) have ever sought help for their own mental health problems. Regarding case discussion, supervision or Balint groups, 81% of the sample (n=48) was open to these; however, it was accessible for only 46% of the sample. The median stigma scores were the followings: attitude: 13 (11-16), Disclosure: 10 (9-12) and Social distance: 12 (9-13), total score: 35 (31-40); however, none of these were associated with any of the above variables. Conclusions Stigma is present towards people with mental health problems and psychiatrist play their part in it as well. Further investigation is needed into Albanian psychiatrists’ stigmatising attitudes to find appropriate anti-stigma interventions for them. Disclosure of Interest None Declared

Introduction Since the literature investigating the stigmatising attitudes of psychiatrists is scarce, this is the first study which examines the phenomena across Europe. The Opening Minds Stigma Scale for Health Care Providers (OMS-HC) is a widely used questionnaire to measure stigma in healthcare providers towards people with mental illness, although it has not been validated in many European countries. Objectives A cross-sectional, observational, multi-centre study was conducted in 32 European countries to investigate the attitudes towards patients among specialists and trainees in general adult and child psychiatry. In order to be able to compare stigma scores across cultures, we aimed to calculate measurement invariance. Methods An internet-based, anonymous survey was distributed in the participating countries, which was completed by n=4245 psychiatrists. The factor structure of the scale was investigated by using separate confirmatory factor analyses for each country. The cross-cultural validation was based on multigroup confirmatory factor analyses. Results When country data were analysed separately, the three dimensions of the OMS-HC were confirmed, and the bifactor model showed the best model fit. However, in some countries, a few items were found to be weak. The attitudes towards patients seemed favourable since stigma scores were less than half of the reachable maximum. Results allowed comparison to be made between stigma scores in different countries and subgroups. Conclusions This international cooperation has led to the cross-cultural validation of the OMS-HC on a large sample of practicing psychiatrists. The results will be useful in the evaluation of future anti-stigma interventions and will contribute to the knowledge of stigma. Disclosure No significant relationships.

Introduction Anxiety symptoms in childhood represent an important risk factor for developing anxiety disorders in subsequent developmental stages. This study examines the frequency and characteristics of the symptoms of the principal anxiety disorders in children and adolescents using a self-report questionnaire based on the diagnostic categories of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) manual. Objectives Our main aim was to have a bigger view of anxiety symptoms spectrum in Albanian children, their frequencies and diferences related to age, gender or other variables. Methods A cross-sectional, non-interventional study was conducted on 50 children/adolescents aged 8 to 17 years (45% males), frequenting Child/Adolescent Psychiatric Service, who completed the Spence Children’s Anxiety Scale. Results More than one in four of the children and adolescents showed high scores in any anxiety disorder. The anxiety symptoms due to separation were the most frequent in the sample (5.5%), followed by physical fears. Girls scored significantly higher in all disorders (P < .001), except in obsessive-compulsive disorder. Differences were found as regards to age in all disorders, except physical fears, but the effect sizes were only in anxiety due to separation, which decreased with age, and generalized anxiety, which was higher in adolescents than in children. Conclusions This study puts emphasizes to the early detection of anxiety symptoms in children, in order to provide the early and effective intervention and prevent the development of anxiety disorders in later life. Introduction After the outbreak of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) on 31 December 2019 in Wuhan (China), an increasing amount of information and concerns are impacting global mental health. It is already evident that apart from physical suffering, the direct and indirect psychological and social effects of COVID-19 pandemic are pervasive and could affect mental health now and in the future. Objectives The central aim of our study was to investigate the prevalence of common mental disorders in populations during Covid-19 outbreak. The study was done in 3 different countries (Albania, India, Iran) which gave us the opportunity to compare our findings and to have a bigger view of the impact of COVID-19 in individuals. Methods A Cross-sectional online survey was done across countries. We used demographic questions and different scales: Corona Anxiety Scale (CAS), The Obsession with COVID-19 Scale (OCS), Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) to evaluate psycho-social impact during covid. Results We collected 469 responses in Albania, 442 responses in India and 402 responses in Iran. According to the data we found that symptoms of anxiety related with corona and obsession with corona were higher in Iran compared with the two other countries. Insomnia problems were also more frequent in Iran were only 16,66% of participants reported no insomnia, compared with 42,0% in Albania and 63,12% in India. Conclusions The emergence of mental health (MH) problems during a pandemic is extremely common, though difficult to address due to the complexities of pandemics. Introduction Burnout is a syndrome characterized by the high workload in the workplace, which is very common in hospital settings. Medical trainees and early career physicians are more likely to experience burnout than their non-medical peers. Burnout has been linked with a great number of consequences, whether personal, family or work related. Physicians burnout specifically, is related to high rates of medical errors, lack of professionalism, decreased productivity but also to suicidal ideation, depression and substance abuse. Objectives The aim of this study is to investigate the level of burnout in medical residents at University Hospital Center “Mother Theresa” Tirana, changes in burnout depending from the year of study, specialty or associated demographic factors. Methods This is a prospective study conducted over two time periods, in 2017 and 2019 using the Maslach Burnout Inventory - short version questionnaire. The information was obtained through the direct filling in of the printed questionnaires, by the residents in their workplace. Results We collected 137 responses from different medical specialties where 15,3% were psychiatric residents. About 70 % of residents are females and 40% of residents where in their third year of residency by the time they completed the questionnaire. 68% of residents declared more than one night shift within a week. Conclusions Residents are given great responsibility coupled with low levels of control, placing them at risk for role problems such as role ambiguity, role conflicts or role overload. Moreover, medical residents are relatively young and at the beginning of their careers, which makes them vulnerable to burnout. Disclosure No significant relationships.

Introduction Many people think that people with mental disorders might be dangerous or unpredictable. These patients face various sources of disadvantages and experience discrimination in job interviews, in education, and housing. Mental health-related stigma occurs not only within the public community, it is a growing issue among professionals as well. Our study is the first that investigates the stigmatising attitude of psychiatrists across Europe. Objectives We designed a cross-sectional, observational, multi-centre, international study of 33 European countries to investigate the attitude towards patients among medical specialists and trainees in the field of general adult and child and adolescent psychiatry. Methods An internet-based, anonymous survey will measure the stigmatising attitude by using the local version of the Opening Minds Stigma Scale for Health Care Providers. Data gathering started in July this year and will continue until December 2020. Results This study will be the first to describe the stigmatising attitude of psychiatric practitioners across Europe from their perspectives. Conclusions The study will contribute to knowledge of gaps in stigmatising attitude towards people with mental health problems and will provide with new directions in anti-stigma interventions. Introduction Emigration is a complex process of social changing through which an individual moves from a certain cultural environment/context to another, aiming to achieve persistent or long-term residency, causing distress. There is sustainable evidence that incidence of all forms of psychosis is higher in migrants. Objectives This study aims to gather data of other research conducted in the field according to emigration as a risk factor for development of different psychosis. Methods Scientific articles searched in MEDLINE, regarding the incidence of mental disorders in different emigrant populations, for the period 1995 - 2015. Results The average relative risk of schizophrenia and of other psychosis occurrence among first generation emigrants was 2.7 (95% confidence interval [CI]=2.3-3.2). Statistical analysis performed among studies of first and second generation of emigrants, and among studies which don’t make difference between generations, results in a relative risk of 2.9 (95% CI=2.5-3.4) of mental illness. Conclusions The data presented in this study emphasize the impact of migration on central symptoms of schizophrenia. Emigration process, cultural and social adaptation, play an important role on the individual mental health. Disclosure No significant relationships.

The latent class analysis separated high- and low-stigma countries. High stigma was associated with high power distance and uncertainty scores. Conclusions: Findings from this study not only expand knowledge of factors related to stigmatizing attitudes of healthcare professionals, but also enlighten the cultural aspects of the stigma that could contribute to the further development of anti-stigma programs.
