Abstract We present an update of the Universal FeynRules Output model format, commonly known as the UFO format, that is used by several automated matrix-element generators and high-energy physics software. We detail different features that have been proposed as extensions of the initial format during the last ten years, and collect them in the current second version of the model format that we coin the Universal Feynman Output format. Following the initial philosophy of the UFO, they consist of flexible and modular additions to address particle decays, custom propagators, form factors, the renormalisation group running of parameters and masses, and higher-order quantum corrections.

Abstract Automated tools for the computation of particle physics’ processes have become the backbone of phenomenological studies beyond the standard model. Here, we present MadDM v3.2. This release enables the fully automated computation of loop-induced dark-matter annihilation processes, relevant for indirect detection observables. Special emphasis lies on the annihilation into $$\gamma X$$ γ X , where $$X=\gamma , Z, h$$ X = γ , Z , h or any new particle even under the dark symmetry. These processes lead to the sharp spectral feature of monochromatic gamma lines – a smoking-gun signature of dark matter in our Galaxy. MadDM provides the predictions for the respective fluxes near-Earth and derives constraints from the gamma-ray line searches by Fermi-LAT and HESS. As an application, we discuss the implications for the viable parameter space of a top-philic t-channel mediator model and the inert doublet model.

Abstract In this paper, we present an extension of MadGraph5_aMC@NLO which is able to evaluate tree-level QCD matrix-elements up to $$2\rightarrow 6$$ 2 → 6 (one more particle than before). To achieve this, we implemented Berends–Giele-like recursion, and re-implemented the way colour is computed such that we can now expand the colour matrix in powers of $$1/N_c$$ 1 / N c and truncate this expansion to a chosen order. For high multiplicity samples, even without truncating the colour matrix, the new implementation offers a speed gain compared to the previous MadGraph5_aMC@NLO code.
