The distinctive feature of leaf-rolling weevils is their special care for their progeny. In many species among the family Attelabidae, the female recognizes the size and shape of the leaf of the host-plant and does the leaf cutting by a definite method. The location of cutting line, length and shape becomes the basic information in understanding the most fundamental structure of female's recognition process and cradle formation strategy. Leaf cutting is not only the process of withering the leaf by blocking the water flow along the main vein but also the process of making reversal easy at the leaf-blade part. The difference in forms of cutting line, leaf blade, interval or dispersion of nibble marks on the stem and pitch of leaf rolling has effects on the shape of the completed cradle. In the present paper we provide leaf-cutting patterns and the cradle formation process for 13 species of subfamily Apoderinae. Ostrinia palustralis memnialis is an oligophagous insect that feeds on the species of the genus Rumex. Continuous rearing of O. palustralis memnialis was carried out from 2004 to 2005, and its general biology was studied. Among the Coleoptera, case bearing is found in four related subfamilies of the Chrysomelidae, the so-called Camptosomates: Clytrinae, Cryptocephalinae, Chlamisinae, and Lamprosomatinae (Böving and Craighead, 1931). Adults of case-bearing chrysomelids feed on foliage of a variety of eudicots (Erber, 1988), but their larvae often show departures from strict phytophagy. Besides those with true herbivore larvae that feed on green plant parts and complete development on the host plant the larvae of most species live on the ground, in leaf litter, and feed on dry vegetable material and detritus (Erber, 1988; Brown and Funk, 2005). The larvae of some clytrine species live in ant nests (Erber, 1988; Brothers et al., 2000), but besides these mirmecophiles, many other clytrine larvae live in leaf litter and some few others on plants (Erber, 1988; Jolivet, 1988). The genus Physosmaragdina Medvedev, a clytrine genus with restricted distribution (Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, South-East Asia). In the Paleoarctic region 14 species have been reported; however, 10 were treated as synonymous, leaving 4 currently reported (Löbl and Smetana, 2010). Four Physosmaragdina species are distributed throughout south-east Asia, from Korea to Japan, while on the other side, only one species were reported in Korea (Lee and An, 2001). Nothing is known about the immature stages of the genus Physosmaragdina. Collecting expeditions of Insect were conducted in Popa resort, Myanmar from Aug. 7, 2011 to Aug. 17, 2011. As a protected area of the Forest department, these areas were almost natural conservation field and limited to collection actions. There are rich biological diversity, among them, lots of insect discovered and collected. Usually on day time, butterflies collected by sweeping net, like various plants, they show high diversity. Lycaenidae of small size as well as large size like Papilionidae butterflies recognized in this expedition. Mostly Nymphalidae species are easily show on the road of mountain, otherwise some Papilionidae species are difficult to meet because they fly very high and fast, usually they visit to top of trees. Materials are expected more than 100 species belonging to 10 families but it was difficult to identification because of lack of references of this areas. Maybe lots of new or new recorded species will discover from Myanmar. Among them, with rare species, manifold butterflies are provided with photos, ecological notes and activities of Myanmar. The spotted-wing drosophila ( SWD), D rosophila suzukii ( Diptera: Drosophilidae), originally distributed across a few Asian countries including South Korea, has invaded North America and Europe but is absent from Australia. In order to export the South Korean grape cultivar Campbell Early to Australia, its potential to serve as an oviposition and development medium for SWD must first be determined. In this study, we determined the oviposition and development potential of SWD on Campbell Early, after elucidating the SWD life cycle and establishing an artificial diet-based mass-culturing system. An investigation of the life cycle under five temperature regimes (16, 19, 22, 25 and 28° C) showed that the durations of the egg, larval and adult stages were shortened when temperature was increased from 16, 19, 22, 25 and 28° C, but pupal duration was shortest at 25° C and extended again at 28° C. A test of oviposition and development potential of SWD on Campbell Early grape clusters showed oviposition of 30.8 ± 6.8 eggs per cluster of injured grapes and 157.7 ± 16.2 eggs on a culture dish of artificial diet. However, in a similar experiment using uninjured grape clusters, only a single egg was deposited on the grape skin, which soon dried. In light of these results, newly harvested grapes left at vineyards during daily harvests are unlikely to serve as an oviposition and development medium for SWD, as long as the grapes remain uninjured.
