Abstract: Based on the conception and theory of Integrated Ecosystem Management, this paper worked out a set of spatial function planning methods for Giant Panda Habitat in Qionglai Mountains in Sichuan. In this paper, According to the regional ecological sensitivity, the relationship between ecosystem functions and services, Giant Panda Habitat in Baoxing County, one of key areas of Giant Panda Habitat in Qionglai Mountains, was divided into 4 types of main function regions: the optimized development, the major development, the restricted development and the prohibition development, and each of these four types of planning regions could be as some criteria for evaluating effectiveness of management performance of local government. The research show that the spatial function planning of IEM works out a new for harmonious development between human and nature in the Giant Panda habitat. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: The studies on the rhizobia isolated from root nodules of broad beans in Panzhihua will lay foundations for improving the output of broad beans in Panzhihua. Abstract: The earthquake emergency ability of counties is directly related to the successful or not for the whole earthquake emergency response (abbr. EER) of China. Based on the field survey of EER ability of counties after Wen Chuan earthquake, this paper firstly analyzes the definition of EER ability from the two layers of the absolute and relative EER ability of counties. Then deconstructs the evaluation index system of the absolute EER ability of counties and the comprehensive assessment method of the two EER abilities. Finally, taking Sichuan province for example assesses EER ability of Sichuan''s counties. This method will help to quantificationally assess the EER ability of counties, which will not only strengthen their abilities, but also help the high-level government to give more scientific decision-making for the configuration of its limited EER resources. Abstract: Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) is critical for sustainable development of the industrial park. As an indispensable part of the system of regional environmental impact assessment (REIA), air quality assessment and regional atmospheric environmental capacity are prerequisite for the planning and development of the industrial park. Based on selecting the factors of atmospheric quality assessment, the evaluation and prediction of regional atmospheric environment quality were conducted in Pingchang Industrial Park, Sichuan, SW China, using Single Factor Evaluation Method and Box-type Air Quality models in this paper. The results showed that regional environmental atmospheric quality in this park met the requirement of Standard Grade II of National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS). The atmospheric environmental capacity is 301.1 t/a, 1000 t/a for SO2 and TSP respectively, and meet the requirements of total mass control of pollutants and environmental capacity. Accordingly, the comprehensive countermeasures for prevention and control of the air pollution with characteristic of “source control + end treatment + trace monitoring” was proposed. Abstract: Combining with the realities of hill area in the middle of Sichuan province, this paper evaluated the intensive use extent of urban land in 38 counties located in seven cities of hill area in the middle of Sichuan province and provided approaches for intensive utilization of land in the above mentioned area, by analyzing selected indexes and established evaluation index system. Abstract: This paper calculated the agricultural CO2 emissions of Sichuan province from 1997 to 2008, then did the Environmental Kuznets Curve hypothesis test, and finally decomposed the total effect of CO2 emissions to production effect, structure effect and intensity effect using LMDI method. The results show: the relationship between Sichuan agricultural CO2 emissions and its economic growth is a rising straight line from 1997 to 2008, and the increasing of the total CO2 emissions is mainly caused by the intensity effect. Structure effect has a positive effect to CO2 emissions reduction, and production effect has small negative effect on CO2 emissions first and gradually increases to a positive effect from 2004.
