Power-to-Ammonia (P2A) is a promising technology that can provide a low-emission energy carrier for long-term storage. This study presents an optimization approach to a novel small-scale containerized P2A concept commissioned in 2024. A dynamic nonlinear optimization problem of the P2A concept is set up, employing the non-commercial MOSAIC® software V3.0.1 in combination with the NEOS® server. In total, seven optimization solvers, ANTIGONE®, CONOPT®, IPOPT®, KNITRO®, MINOS®, PATHNLP®, and SNOPT®, are used. The first and main part of this work optimizes several disturbance scenarios of the concept and aims to determine the optimal reactor temperature profile to counter the disturbances. The optimization results suggest, for example, lowering the reactor temperature profile if the hydrogen and nitrogen inlet streams into the system decrease. The second part of this work presents a crude dynamic optimal scheduling model. This part aims to determine the amount of ammonia to be produced and sold given a randomized price of electricity for three consecutive points in time. The optimization results recommend decreasing production when the price of electricity is high and vice versa. This manuscript addresses the critical challenges in achieving high-accuracy remote control of electromechanical systems, given their inherent nonlinearities and dynamic complexities. Traditional diagnostics often suffer from data inaccuracies and limitations in analytical techniques. The focus is on enhancing the dynamic model accuracy for remote induction motor control in both closed- and open-loop speed control systems, which is essential for real-time process monitoring. The proposed solution includes real-time measurements of input and output physical quantities to mitigate inaccuracies in traditional diagnostic methods. The manuscript discusses theoretical aspects of nonlinear torque formation in induction drives and introduces a dynamic model employing vector control and speed control schemes alongside standard frequency control methods. These approaches optimize frequency converter settings to enhance system performance under varying nonlinear conditions. Additionally, the manuscript explores methods to analyze dynamic, systematic errors arising from frequency converter inertial properties, thereby improving electromechanical equipment condition diagnostics. A dynamic tanks-in-series model has been developed for the coupled heat, mass, and charge transfer processes in a high-temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cell. The semi-empirical model includes the heat and mass balance equations in the gas channels and the membrane electrode assembly together with the charge balance at the electrode/membrane interfaces. The outputs of the tanks-in-series model are the concentration, the temperature, and the current density with a step change from tank to tank. The dynamic non-isothermal model is capable of predicting both the transient and steady-state behavior of the fuel cell and reproducing impedance data under harmonic perturbations of the cell potential together with a comprehensive interpretation of experimental data. This paper presents a dynamic-phasor-based, average-value modeling method for power systems with extensive converter-tied subsystems. In the proposed approach, the overall system model is constructed using modular functions, interfacing both conventional and converter-tied resources. Model validation is performed against detailed Electro-Magnetic Transient (EMT) simulations. The analytical capabilities offered by the proposed modeling method are demonstrated on a modified IEEE 9-bus system. A Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)-based parallel computing approach for the solution of the resulting model is presented and exemplified on a modified IEEE 118-bus system, showing significant improvements in computing efficiency over EMT solvers. A co-simulation approach using a Central Processing Unit (CPU) and a GPU is also presented and exemplified using a modified version of the IEEE 118-bus system, demonstrating the model's parallelization. To reduce the friction loss and the piston-knocking noise from the perspective of the design of the cylinder bore profile, the piston-ring cylinder bore (PRCB) dynamic model of an L6 diesel engine was developed using AVL-Excite-Piston & Rings. Based on the full-scale test method, the effects of bore taper, starting height of tapered profile, and ellipticity on the friction power and knocking energy of the PRCB system were investigated, and the optimization of the design of the bore profile was carried out with the objectives of minimizing the system's friction power and the peak knocking kinetic energy. The results showed that the taper of the cylinder bore has the greatest influence on the system's friction power and the peak knocking kinetic energy, followed by the starting height of the conical profile. For the peak knocking kinetic energy of the piston, there was an obvious interaction between the taper and the starting height of the conical profile. When the taper was 35 μm and 45 μm, the peak knocking kinetic energy showed a decreasing and then increasing trend with the increase in the starting height of the profile, and when the taper was 55 μm the peak knocking kinetic energy monotonically was decreased with the increase in the starting height of the conical profile. The optimization results showed that the system's friction power was decreased by 15.05% and the peak knocking kinetic energy was decreased by 21.41% for a taper degree of 55 μm, a tapered profile starting height of 31 mm, and an ellipticity of 50 μm compared to the initial cylindrical cylinder bore. The most rapid and efficient method to transport natural gas from its source to its destination is through a pipeline network. The optimal functioning of control stations for natural gas pipelines depends on the use of electrical devices, including data loggers, communication devices, control systems, surveillance equipment, and more. Ensuring a reliable and consistent power supply proves to be challenging due to the remote locations of these control stations. This research article presents a case study detailing the design and dynamic modeling of a hybrid power system (HPS) to address the specific energy needs of a particular natural gas pipeline control station. The HOMER Pro 3.17.1 software is used to design an optimal HPS for the specified location. The designed system combines a photovoltaic (PV) system with natural gas generators as a backup to ensure a reliable and consistent power supply for the control station. Furthermore, it provides significant cost savings, reducing the cost of energy (COE) by USD 0.148 and the annual operating costs by USD 87,321, all while integrating a renewable energy fraction of 79.2%. Dynamic modeling of the designed system is performed in MATLAB/Simulink R2022a to analyze the system's response, including its power quality, harmonics, voltage transients, load impact, etc. The experimental results are validated using hardware in the loop (HIL) and OPAL-RT Technologies' real-time OP5707XG simulator. Reductions of carbon dioxide emissions from the building sector are mandatory for climate protection. This calls for both a reduction of the construction material and energy as well as a reduction of the operational energy. Against this background, a novel facade-integrated adsorption system for solar cooling of lightweight buildings is proposed and theoretically investigated in this work. For this purpose, a detailed simulation model is developed to analyze both the processes in the single components as well as the overall system behavior. The proposed system consists of the three components adsorber, condenser and evaporator, which are connected vacuum-tight and are coupled by vapor transfer. The simulation results of a defined reference case yield cooling rates of 54   W per installed square meter of adsorber facade. The cooling power can be maintained for 12 h, confirming the applicability of the proposed system. Furthermore, a comprehensive parametric study is carried out in order to identify an optimum set of parameter values for maximum cooling rate under the assumed conditions. The results reveal that controlled constant cooling rates of 105   W per square meter of adsorber facade can be reached and a maximum peak power of 145   W per square meter of adsorber facade is possible. This paper concerns the utilisation of a gas bladder hydraulic suppressor to mitigate oscillations in the delivery flow rate of positive displacement machines. The research focuses on two primary objectives: first, the experimental validation of the potential of this solution and second, the formulation of a one-dimensional fluid dynamic model for the suppressor. The foundational framework of the fluid dynamic model is based on the equations governing fluid motion with a one-dimensional approach. To accurately depict the fluid dynamics within the suppressor, a unique approach for determining the speed of sound was incorporated, and it implemented the instantaneous cross-sectional area and the inertial effect of the bladder. This paper is a development of a previous work to also investigate the positioning along the delivery pipe of the suppressor with respect to the pump. The study presents the performance of the suppressor and points out the effects of its relative position with respect to the pump that becomes particularly relevant at high speeds. A digital twin is recognized as a pivotal technology in a new type of power system monitoring as it provides an effective method for monitoring the vibration caused by ice shedding in overhead transmission lines. The digital twin model differs from traditional models in that it has the characteristics of precise mapping and real-time simulation. These emerging characteristics lead to urgent updating of the existing modeling approaches. Therefore, the current study proposes a dynamic digital twin modeling method for transmission line ice-shedding systems. In this approach, an analytical solution for conductor deicing oscillation is proposed to describe the span and tension unchanged in any time period and then segmented and iteratively corrected with measured time-varying parameters to implement real-time simulation functionality. A dynamic geometric model for transmission lines is proposed based on the Unity3D platform. In addition, a human-computer interaction visualization platform is proposed to display twin data, with the objective of realizing precise mapping of real transmission lines. The gas turbine is a crucial piece of equipment in the energy and power industry. The exhaust gas has a sufficiently high temperature to be recovered for energy cascade use. The supercritical carbon dioxide (S-CO2) Brayton cycle is an advanced power system that offers benefits in terms of efficiency, volume, and flexibility. It may be utilized for waste heat recovery (WHR) in gas turbines. This study involved the design of a 5 MW S-CO2 recompression cycle specifically for the purpose of operational control. The dynamic models for the printed circuit heat exchangers, compressors, and turbines were developed. The stability and dynamic behavior of the components were validated. The suggested control strategies entail utilizing the cooling water controller to maintain the compressor inlet temperature above the critical temperature of CO2 (304.13 K). Additionally, the circulating mass flow rate is regulated to modify the output power, while the exhaust gas flow rate is controlled to ensure that the turbine inlet temperature remains within safe limits. The simulations compare the performance of PI controllers tuned using the SIMC rule and ADRC controllers tuned using the bandwidth method. The findings demonstrated that both controllers are capable of adjusting operating conditions and effectively suppressing fluctuations in the exhaust gas. The gasification kinetics of semi-coke are an important research topic in the gasification process of semi-coke. The evolution of the pore structure is one of the most important factors affecting the gasification rate of semi-coke. In this paper, the pore fractal growth model was established based on the principle of pore fractal growth and the Sierpinski sponge structure. Three kinds of semi-coke raw materials were used to prepare porous carbon with different degrees of gasification. Combined with the TG curves of raw materials, the gasification kinetics based on the fractal model were verified. The curves of the gasification reaction rate and the specific surface area as a function of carbon conversion were consistent with the random pore model and experimental data, which verified the feasibility of the model. The pore fractal dynamic model could predict the change in the pore structure with carbon conversion during semi-coke gasification, so as to reveal the kinetic law of carbon gasification. As demand for data centers (DC) has increased rapidly, so has their electricity consumption. Cooling DCs is essential to maintain optimal temperatures for the operation of servers and equipment. The consequence of the cooling process is that most of the electricity consumed in DCs, including cooling, is eventually dissipated as heat that is released into the atmosphere without any useful application. Recovering and reusing waste heat offers a sustainable solution to reduce primary energy consumption and minimize the environmental impact. Using waste heat from DCs to heat buildings can significantly improve the energy efficiency and environmental sustainability of DCs. Therefore, this research analyzes the existing potential of waste heat recovery from data centers in Latvia and proposes a system dynamic modelling approach for evaluation of the future impact of waste heat on the national heat supply. The overall waste heat generated by DCs in 2022 was 51.37 GWh at a temperature of 65 °C. Reef reservoirs are characterised by a complex structure of void space, which is a combination of intergranular porosity, fractures, and vuggy voids distributed chaotically in the carbonate body in different proportions. This causes great uncertainty in the distribution of porosity and permeability properties in the reservoir volume, making field development a complex and unpredictable process associated with many risks. High densities of carbonate secondary alterations can lead to the formation of zones with abnormally high porosity and permeability—high permeability streaks or super-reservoirs. Taking into account super-reservoirs in the bulk of the deposit is necessary in the dynamic modelling of complex-structure reservoirs because it affects the redistribution of filtration flows and is crucial for reservoir management. This paper proposes a method for identifying superreservoirs by identifying enormously high values of porosity and permeability from different-scale study results, followed by the combination and construction of probabilistic curves of superreservoirs. Based on the obtained curves, three probabilistic models of the existence of a superreservoir were identified: P10, P50, and P90, which were further distributed in the volume of the reservoir and on the basis of which new permeability arrays were calculated. Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) are employed in trucks and large commercial vehicles utilizing hydrogen as fuel due to their rapid start-up characteristics and responsiveness. However, addressing the requirement for high power output in the low-current section presents a challenge. To solve this issue, a multi-stack can be applied using two stacks. Furthermore, thermal management, which significantly affects the performance of the stacks, is essential. Therefore, in this study, a hydrogen electric truck system model was developed based on a Hyundai Xcient hydrogen electric truck model using MATLAB/SimscapeTM 2022b. Coalbed methane (CBM) reservoirs' permeability is the result of dynamic variations influenced by tectonics, hydrology and the CBM production process. Taking samples from the southeastern Ordos Basin, China, the permeability evolution of bituminous coal and its control were analyzed in three steps: (1) the coal fracture permeability evolution was acquired via X-ray CT scanning and permeability evolution experiments; (2) the permeability variation was determined while considering the coupling characteristics effective stress, gas slippage, and matrix shrinkage effect and its influencing factors; and (3) a dynamic permeability model was built while considering those effects. For samples in which neither fractures nor bedding developed, the permeability decreased first and then increased as the gas pressure increased. For samples with fractures that developed parallel to the axial direction, with a gradual increase in gas pressure, the permeability also increased. As the gas pressure decreased, the matrix shrinkage effect became positive, resulting in a permeability increase. To reduce the electricity grid's valley—peak difference, thereby resulting in a smoother electricity load, this study employs a compressed CO2 energy storage system to facilitate load shifting. Load shifting by the CCES system not only enhances the energy flexibility of the electricity load but also creates energy arbitrage from variations in the electricity prices. An optimization model is developed to optimize the operation of the CCES system to minimize the standard deviation of the electricity load. Thereby, load shifting by the CCES system can be achieved. Based on the real electricity loads and prices, results indicate that, with an energy storage capacity of 267 MWh, the CCES system can provide 3845 MWh, 4052 MWh, and 3816 MWh of upward flexible energy and 3846 MWh, 3180 MWh, and 3735 MWh of downward flexible energy during a week in summer, winter, and the transition season, respectively. With a lifespan of 35 years, the CCES system can attain a net present value (NPV) of MUSD 239.9 and a payback time of 2 years. The sensitivity analysis shows that increasing the energy storage capacity of the CCES system augments both the upward and downward flexible energy of the electricity load but reduces the NPV of the CCES system. With the increasing demand for intelligence and automation, and the continuous strengthening of safety and efficiency requirements, the disadvantages of traditional "blind use" of nickel–cadmium batteries have become increasingly prominent, and the lack of state-of-charge (SOC) estimation needs to be changed urgently. For this purpose, a dynamic model of nickel–cadmium battery is established, and an SOC estimation method of nickel–cadmium battery based on adaptive untraced Kalman filter is proposed. Firstly, the experimental platform was built, and the open-circuit voltage and polarization characteristics of nickel–cadmium batteries were analyzed. On this basis, an equivalent circuit model is constructed to reflect the characteristics of nickel–cadmium batteries, and the model parameters were identified by the hybrid pulse power characteristic test; Then, based on the dynamic model, the SOC of the nickel–cadmium battery was estimated by combining with the Sage–Husa adaptive untrace Kalman filtering algorithm. Finally, the SOC estimation effect was verified under two operating conditions: Hybrid pulse power characteristic (HPPC) and constant cyclic charging and discharging power. The experimental results show that the proposed estimation method is insensitive to the initial value of SOC, and can still converge to the real value even if there is 30% error in the initial value. The mean absolute error and root mean square deviation of the final SOC estimation results are both less than 1%. The dynamic model and the proposed SOC estimation method provide valuable reference for the operation control, maintenance, and replacement of nickel–cadmium batteries in the use process. This paper aims to develop a novel method for the dynamic equivalence of a renewable power plant, ultimately contributing to power system modeling and enhancing the integration of renewable energy sources. In order to address the challenge posed by clusters of renewable generation units during the equivalence process, the paper introduces the degree of similarity to assess similarity features under data. After leveraging the degree of similarity in conjunction with data-driven techniques, the proposed method efficiently entails dividing numerous units in a large-scale plant into distinct clusters. Additionally, the paper adopts practical algorithms to determine the parameters for each aggregated cluster and streamline the intricate collector network within the renewable power plant. The equivalent model of a renewable power plant is thereby conclusively derived. Comprehensive case studies are conducted within a practical offshore wind plant setting. These case studies are accompanied by simulations, highlighting the advantages and effectiveness of the proposed method, offering an accurate representation of the renewable power plant under diverse operating conditions. A huge increase in fast−charging stations will be necessary for the transition to EVs. Nevertheless, charging a battery pack at a higher C−rate impacts its state of health, accelerating its degradation. The present paper proposes a different and innovative approach that considers the daily routine of an EV Li−ion battery based on a standard driving cycle, including charging phases when the depth of discharge is 90%. Through dynamic modeling of the EV battery system, the state of charge evolution is determined for different charging C−rates, considering both real discharging and charging current profiles. Finally, by applying a suitable post−processing procedure, aging test features are defined, each being related to a specific EV battery working mode, including charging at a particular C−rate, considering the global battery operation during its lifespan. It is demonstrated that, according to the implemented procedure, fast−charging cycles at 50 kW reduce battery lifespan by about 17% with respect to charge in a 22 kW three−phase AC column, in parity with the discharge rate. Thus, this work can provide a deep insight into the expected massive penetration of electric vehicles, providing an estimate of battery useful life based on charging conditions. Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) water electrolysers have gained attention as efficient and sustainable hydrogen production devices. Understanding their electrical behavior is crucial for optimizing their performance and control strategies. This comprehensive review analyzes both the static and dynamic electrical models, emphasizing the often-neglected dynamic models. Static models reveal steady-state behavior, offering insights into voltage-current characteristics, polarization phenomena, and overall efficiency. On the other hand, dynamic models capture transient responses, enabling an analysis of time-dependent performance and system reactions to input variations, such as flow rate, temperature, pressure, and electrical potential. The review also addresses overlooked diffusion phenomena, crucial for accurate mass transport dynamics and enhancing dynamic model accuracy. This review article deals with hydro-pneumatic accumulators (HPAs) charged with nitrogen. The focus is on HPA models used in the study of the energy efficiency of hydraulic systems. Hydraulic circuits with HPA are presented along with their various applications for delivering the required volume of fluid, maintaining the required pressure, ensuring safe operation, safety stop, leak compensation, fluid volume change compensation, pulsation damping, and pressure shock absorption. A general regenerative hydraulic system and a general hybrid hydraulic system are also presented. The review focuses primarily on HPA computational, dynamic, and simulation models. Basic HPA calculation parameters and computational models of energy storage and thermodynamic cycle are presented. Various computational and dynamic models of HPA have been defined, such as the thermodynamic model, simulation model, dynamic model, pulsation damper model, and shock pulse damper model. Research projects that have used HPA in industrial hydraulic systems are reviewed, such as those maintaining operating pressure in an industrial 80 MN open-die hydraulic forging press and acting as a shock pulse absorber in the lifting and levelling module of a tracked mobile robotic bricklaying system. In this work, a dynamic analysis describing the charge and discharge process of a supercapacitor for the DC-link between a photovoltaic source and a constant power load is presented. The analysis results in a complete nonlinear and dynamic model that can be used for simulation and control for DC–DC converters, achieving fast recharge times and accurate steady-state voltages in the DC link to avoid overcharging the supercapacitor during low power absorption scenarios. The proposed approach includes parasitic elements for the supercapacitor and efficiency effects on the conversion stage, proposing equations useful for design and control. Stability is also discussed for the charge process of the supercapacitor. Hybrid renewable hydrogen energy systems could play a key role in delivering sustainable solutions for enabling the Net Zero ambition; however, the lack of exact computational modelling tools for sizing the integrated system components and simulating their real-world dynamic behaviour remains a key technical challenge against their widespread adoption. This paper addresses this challenge by developing a precise dynamic model that allows sizing the rated capacity of the hybrid system components and accurately simulating their real-world dynamic behaviour while considering effective energy management between the grid-integrated system components to ensure that the maximum possible proportion of energy demand is supplied from clean sources rather than the grid. The proposed hybrid system components involve a solar PV system, electrolyser, pressurised hydrogen storage tank and fuel cell. The developed hybrid system model incorporates a set of mathematical models for the individual system components. The developed precise dynamic model allows identifying the electrolyser's real-world hydrogen production levels in response to the input intermittent solar energy production while also simulating the electrochemical behaviour of the fuel cell and precisely quantifying its real-world output power and hydrogen consumption in response to load demand variations. Using a university campus case study building in Scotland, the effectiveness of the developed model has been assessed by benchmarking comparison between its results versus those obtained from a generic model in which the electrochemical characteristics of the electrolyser and fuel cell systems were not taken into consideration. Results from this comparison have demonstrated the potential of the developed model in simulating the real-world dynamic operation of hybrid solar hydrogen energy systems for grid-connected buildings while sizing the exact capacity of system components, avoiding oversizing associated with underutilisation costs and inaccurate simulation. Inertial response support from wind turbine generators has become a priority requirement in most grid codes to improve the frequency response and frequency stability margins of power systems. However, the interaction between MPPT and inertial controllers may significantly degrade the power system dynamics. Therefore, there is a need to comprehensively understand the electromechanical dynamics of power systems with high penetration of wind generation. In this context, this work proposes a simplified dynamic model to assess the electromechanical dynamics of modern power systems with inertial response support from wind generation. The proposed simplified model allows simple analyses of the intrinsic and extrinsic aspects of wind generation that directly affect the system frequency dynamics and the dynamics of wind turbine generators. As a secondary contribution, this work also provides a comprehensive assessment of intrinsic and extrinsic aspects of wind generation that significantly affect the electromechanical dynamics of power systems with inertial response support from wind generation. Currently, in China's power grid, the accounting of carbon emissions has shortcomings such as unclear accounting boundaries, slow updating of carbon emission factors (EFs), and a lack of spatiotemporal characteristics. In this study, a dynamic accounting model for carbon emission was constructed based on carbon flow theory and the QIO (Quasi-Input-Output) model using the transmission side, the substation side, and the distribution side as accounting nodes. By utilizing the electricity metering data and carbon EF on the input side of the node, the total carbon emissions flowing into the node could be calculated. Furthermore, based on the electricity metering data on the output side of the node, the carbon emissions and carbon EF flowing out of the node could be calculated. The accounting results of carbon emissions and carbon EF are characterized by flexibility and dynamicity in both spatial and temporal dimensions. Finally, the practicality of the method has been demonstrated through a substation node. The accounting model has a positive impact on accurate carbon emission accounting for the power grid, better tracing of carbon emissions, and effective user guidance on active carbon emission reduction. This paper presents a detailed derivation of the small-signal model and components design considerations for the Quasi-Y-Source inverter. The design methodology is based on the converter steady-state operation, considering the impedance network inductor and capacitor voltage and charge balances, respectively. Moreover, the additional design criteria for component selection, considering control constraints and performance compromise, are given by parametric variation analysis based on converter dynamic response. The small-signal model and transfer functions are obtained using a state-space averaged model, including converter non-ideal characteristics given by equivalent-series resistances (ESR), which makes possible the proposition of different control strategies, using both single or multi-loop schemes. To demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed small-signal model, a DSP-based single-loop type-II PI control strategy is used in which the peak DC-link voltage is indirectly controlled through the measurement of the impedance network capacitor voltage. The controller and converter performances are verified with simulation and experimental results and successfully confirm the validity of the proposed dynamic model. This study contributes to the body of literature on modeling and predicting gasoline demand by using nonlinear econometric techniques. For this purpose, dynamic model averaging (DMA) and Bayesian model averaging (BMA) combined with Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) are used to forecast gasoline consumption in the United States. The article's independent variables include demographic characteristics, economic activity, income, driving expenditures, automobile price, and road availability for annual data from 1960 to 2020. In the proposed model, not only may the coefficients and elasticity of a predictor of gasoline demand change over time, but other sets of predictors can also emerge at different periods. Moreover, this study aims to automate the process of picking two forgotten variables of the DMA model using the ABC model. Our findings indicate that dynamic model averaging significantly improves forecasting performance when compared to basic benchmark techniques and advanced approaches. Additionally, integrating it with an Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) may result in improved outcomes when time-varying forgetting variables are present. This work is focused on the simulation of a complete hybrid bus vehicle model performing a real-world driving cycle. The simulation framework consists of a coupled co-simulation environment, where all the vehicle sub-system models are linked to achieve a real time exchange of input and output signals. In the vehicle model also the electric devices of the powertrain and accumulation system are included. This co-simulation platform is applied to investigate the hybridization of a 12-m city bus, performing a typical urban driving mission. A comparison between the conventional powertrain is performed against the hybridized version, to highlight the advantages and challenges. In particular, the novelty of this modeling approach is that the IC engine simulation does not rely on pre-processed look-up tables, but exploits a high-fidelity one-dimensional thermo-fluid dynamic model. However, it was necessary to develop a fast simulation methodology to exploit this predictive tool, achieving a low computational cost. The 1D engine model is first validated against the experimental engine map data available, showing a good model predictivity. Then the 1D engine model and the other models of the powertrain are coupled to the vehicle model, in order to follow the prescribed velocity profile of the driving cycle. In underground mining, conventional loader equipment uses diesel as a power source, implying different drawbacks, such as combustion gases, low visibility, worker's health problems, and high ventilation requirements. Thus, hybrid and electric loaders are being developed by the main industry suppliers who prefer clean technology. In this study, we analyzed the performance of an electro-mechanical powertrain through a dynamic model of underground-loader equipment using field data. This electric LHD model was compared to a diesel loader under the same operational conditions. For the case study, the results showed that the proposed electro-mechanical model, considering 14 tons of capacity, consumed 86.8 kWh, representing 60.5% less energy than the diesel loader with similar speed and torque characteristics. Thus, the proposed methodology is a valuable tool for operators, process engineers, and decision-makers, allowing an energy-efficiency evaluation for electric LHD adoption, based on the current operational data available for conventional equipment. In the pursuit of addressing climate change and achieving sustainable development, this study presents a comprehensive and intricate mathematical model that provides valuable insights into the process of carbon dioxide capture using ammonia aqueous solutions as solvents. The ability of the model to accurately describe the process under consideration is supported by the validation results. Specifically, the validation process involves the examination of four parameters over the height of the absorption column. The results demonstrate a strong correlation as the model predicted profiles are in close agreement with experimental values, with an error coefficient exceeding R = 0.91. When subjecting the system to a 25% variation in flue gas inflow, the carbon capture rate exhibits a significant fluctuation (7–10%) for both increasing and decreasing cases. In addition, the validated model is scaled-up to simulate the industrial-scale ammonia-based absorption process of carbon dioxide. The simulation incorporates a column with intercooling after each layer of packing. The results indicate that by minimizing the temperature within the column, the concentration of ammonia in the clean gases obtained at the top remains below 10 ppm, while the capture rate increases up to 94%. Furthermore, the analysis of a predetermined scenario reveals that the model can effectively replicate the behavior of the system under various conditions. This finding highlights its potential utility for future applications, including process optimization and the implementation of control techniques aimed at mitigating the above-mentioned drawbacks, such as solvent loss due to vaporization. With the increasing proportion of renewable energy in the new power system, the grid-connected capacity of photovoltaic (PV) units shows an obvious upward trend, but its dynamic behavior under different penetration rates significantly affects the transient stability of the power system, so it is crucial to establish a dynamic model that meets the actual working conditions and select a suitable parameter identification method. Therefore, in this paper, based on the electromechanical transient characteristics of the grid-connected PV power generation system, the corresponding dynamic discrete equivalent model is established, and the simulation platform of the grid-connected PV power generation system is built in MATLAB/Simulink to study the adaptability of the dynamic discrete equivalent model of the grid-connected PV power generation system from the single and multiple scenarios using the ordinary least squares (OLS) and bat algorithm (BA) while comparing the generalization ability of the parameters identified by the two methods to the model. The simulation results show that the generalization ability of the parameters identified by the OLS and BA for the model in the single scenario is better, indicating that the model has good adaptability; the generalization ability of a set of general parameters identified by the BA for the model in the multiple scenarios is better than that of the OLS, indicating that the parameters identified by the BA have better adaptability. In conclusion, the dynamic discrete equivalent model of the grid-connected PV power generation system proposed in this paper can accurately reflect the dynamic characteristics of the grid-connected PV power generation system, and the parameters identified by the BA are more generalized than the OLS. Considering the dynamic stall effects in engineering calculations is essential for correcting the aerodynamic loads acting on wind turbines, both during power production and stand-still cases, and impacts significantly the turbine aeroelastic stability. The employed dynamic stall model needs to be accurate and robust for a wide range of airfoils and range of angle of attack. The present studies are intended to demonstrate the performance of a recently implemented "IAG dynamic stall" model in a wind turbine design tool Bladed. The model is transformed from the indicial type of formulation into a state-space representation. The new model is validated against measurement data and other dynamic stall models in Bladed for various flow conditions and airfoils. It is demonstrated that the new model is able to reproduce the measured dynamic polar accurately without airfoil specific parameter calibration and has a superior performance compared to the incompressible Beddoes–Leishman model and the Øye model in Bladed. In recent years, a major focus on wind farm wake control is to maximise the production of wind farms. To improve the power generation efficiency of wind farms through wake regulation, this study investigates yaw optimisation for wind farm production maximisation from the perspective of time-varying wakes. To this end, we first deduce a simplified dynamic wake model according to the momentum conservation theory and backward difference method. The accuracy of the proposed model is verified by simulation comparisons. Then, the time lag of wake propagation and its impact on wind farm production maximisation through wake meandering is analysed. On this basis, a yaw optimisation method for increasing wind farm energy capture is presented. This optimisation method uses the proposed dynamic wake model for wind farm prediction. There are several models for magnetic hysteresis. Their key purposes are to model magnetization curves with a history dependence to achieve hysteresis cycles without a frequency dependence. There are different approaches to handling history dependence. The two main categories are Duhem-type models and Preisach-type models. Duhem models handle it via a simple directional dependence on the flux rate, without a proper memory. While the Preisach type model handles it via memory of the point where the direction of the flux rate is changed. The most common Duhem model is the phenomenological Jiles–Atherton model, with examples of other models including the Coleman–Hodgdon model and the Tellinen model. Examples of Preisach type models are the classical Preisach model and the Prandtl–Ishlinskii model, although there are also many other models with adoptions of a similar history dependence. Hysteresis is by definition rate-independent, and thereby not dependent on the speed of the alternating flux density. An additional rate dependence is still important and often included in many dynamic hysteresis models. The Chua model is common for modeling non-linear dynamic magnetization curves; however, it does not define classical hysteresis. Other similar adoptions also exist that combine hysteresis modeling with eddy current modeling, similar to how frequency dependence is included in core loss modeling. Carbon emissions are rapidly increasing with continuing global economic development, necessitating an urgent energy revolution. Often, when calculating carbon footprint, analysts have failed to account for changes in capital stock and the impact of indirect emissions caused by the consumption of imported products. Furthermore, the homogenization of industrial and resident sectors has reduced our understanding of the specific driving forces behind carbon emissions. To avoid such locational and temporal biases, this study employs a dynamic input–output model to re-estimate the carbon footprint of only residents. We deconstruct residential emissions into different consumption categories and conduct a comparative analysis between developed and developing countries from across the world. To this end, data from 44 global economies were obtained from the World Input–Output Database for the period from 2000 to 2014. For developing countries, food consumption had the highest share of embodied carbon emissions, maintaining a share of over 20%, whereas in developed countries, housing consumption had the highest share, remaining at over 30%. In most countries, the consumption level and emission intensity effects were the most important drivers of carbon emission increases and carbon emission decreases, respectively. However, the contributions of the two varied considerably in different countries, with the maximum impact of the emission intensity effect on the carbon footprint of a single category reaching 854.31% in the US and 99.34% in China. These findings will help countries tailor their emission reduction policies to local conditions and emphasize that emission reductions should start by reducing the emission intensity and consumption structure of the corresponding sectors. Indonesia's final energy demand is projected to increase by 70% in the next decade, with electricity expected to account for 32%. The increasing electricity demand poses a potential threat to national emissions reduction targets since fossil fuels generated 86% of the electricity in 2018, associated to 50% of the national CO2 emissions. Indonesia plans to reduce its CO2 emissions by 29% by increasing the total electricity generated from renewables, using a set of market-based and regulatory policies. However, economic, social, and environmental issues may arise from the widespread adoption of renewable energy. This study explores the economic, social, and environmental effects of renewable energy policies in the electricity sector. Our work presents an advance over previous studies that attempted to understand the electricity sector energy transition from a system perspective by exploring the structural feedback between it and economic, energy, and environmental systems. This enables the assessment of different energy policies using more macro indicators, which further emphasize the novelty of our work. A combination of system dynamics modelling and a policy analysis framework was applied to explore these issues. Our study proposes a dynamic hypothesis that the price of energy increases over time, in the absence of substitution, becoming a limiting factor in the transition to renewables in the electricity sector. The fiscal budget was found to be a bottleneck for renewable energy adoption in the electricity sector in Indonesia. We found that a fossil fuel depletion premium could be a potential supporting policy to enable the smooth phasing-out of fossil fuels and support a sustainable energy transition. Positive displacement pumps produce pressure ripple that can be reduced with the attenuation of the generated flow ripple. This paper presents the application of a gas bladder hydraulic damper with the aim of reducing the oscillations of the delivery flow rate of positive displacement machines. This work is focused on the development of a 1D fluid dynamic model of the damper, which is based on the fundamental fluid motion equations applied for a mono-dimensional flow. In order to represent the fluid flow inside the damper, a particular evaluation of the sound speed has been implemented. Experimental tests have been performed involving an axial piston pump with the damper installed in the delivery pipe to validate the model; tests were carried out at different pump working conditions and with different gas precharge pressure of the damper. The test results confirmed the effectiveness of the device, and the comparison with numerical results demonstrated a good agreement. Renewable energy sources have been characterized by a persistent and rapid proliferation, which has resulted in a notable reduction in grid inertia over an extended period. There is a widely held belief that the primary source of inertia within the grid stems from generation-side conventional units. However, in power consumption, a significant number of induction motors are present, which can inherently offer rotational inertia by virtue of their kinetic energy. To investigate the influence of induction motors on grid inertia, in this paper, we propose two types of models, i.e., a detailed grid model and a dynamic equivalent model that considers multiple induction motors. Specifically, the detailed grid model with multiple induction motors is first established. However, the detailed model requires the specific parameters of induction motors, which are hard to acquire in large systems. Moreover, the accuracy of the model is unsatisfactory. To fill these gaps, the dynamic equivalent model (DEM) is further proposed to emulate the detailed model. Compared with the detailed model, the proposed dynamic equivalent model is structurally simple and does not require the specific parameters of induction motors. Therefore, it is possible to apply to large systems for investigating the influence of induction motors on grid frequency dynamics. A genetic algorithm is introduced in order to figure out the parameters of the proposed dynamic equivalent model from historical frequency data. Energy and electricity are critical prerequisites for every nation and critical components of social and economic growth. The monetary policy economist has been debating the issue of relying on core inflation or headline inflation, which includes energy, because the energy price is so volatile that it obscures the trend in inflation and dilutes the objectives of monetary policy. This paper aims at analyzing the impact of the twin deficit on energy inflation within a linear and nonlinear framework in India using time series data covering the period from 1971 to 2021. ARDL and NARDL approaches are employed to investigate the linear/symmetric response of energy inflation due to the twin-deficit in India. Estimates show a negative relationship between the twin-deficit and energy inflation in a symmetric model. The results of the asymmetric model reveal that the response of energy inflation due to expansionary fiscal policy (increment in CFD) and contractionary fiscal policy (decline in CFD) is diverse, in terms of size of the coefficient. Further, estimates of NARDL show the distinct impact of increases and decreases in CAD on energy inflation. The study offers several implications for policymakers and energy economists. In the context of energy transformation, the importance of energy storage devices in regional integrated energy systems (RIESs) is becoming increasingly prominent. To explore the impact of energy storage devices on the design and operation of RIESs, this paper first establishes a bi-level dynamic optimization model with the total system cost as the optimization objective. The optimization model is used to optimize the design of three RIESs with different energy storage devices, including System 1 without an energy storage device, System 2 with a thermal energy storage (TES) device, and System 3 with TES and electrical energy storage (EES) devices. According to the design and operation results, the impact of energy storage devices on the operational performance of RIESs is analyzed. The results show that under the design conditions, energy storage devices can significantly increase the capacity of the combined heating and power units and absorption chillers in System 2 and System 3 and reduce the capacity of the ground source heat pumps and gas boilers; the impact of the TES device on System 3 is more significant. Affected by systems' configuration, the operating cost, carbon tax, and total cost of System 2 are reduced by 2.9%, 5.5%, and 1.5% compared with System 1, respectively. The EES device can more significantly reduce the operating cost of System 3, with a reduced rate of 5.7% compared with that in System 1. However, the higher equipment cost makes the total cost reduction rate of System 3 less than that of System 1, which is 1.75%. Similar to the design conditions, under the operation conditions, the TES device can effectively reduce the carbon tax, operating cost, and total cost of System 2, while System 3 with an EES device can significantly reduce its operating cost regardless of whether the energy price changes or not. To some extent, this study systematically elucidated the impact of TES and EES devices on the optimal design and operation performance of RIESs and provided a certain reference for the configuration of energy storage devices. A unique rotary kite turbine designed with tensile rotary power transmission (TRPT) is introduced in this work. Power extraction, power transmission and the ground station are modelled in a modular framework. The TRPT system is the key component of power transmission, for which three models with different levels of complexity are proposed. The first representation is based on the stationary state of the system, in which the external and internal torques of a TRPT section are in equilibrium, referred to as the steady-state TRPT model. The second representation is a simplified spring-disc model for dynamic TRPT, and the third one is a multi-spring model with higher degrees of freedom and more flexibility in describing TRPT dynamics. To assess the torque loss on TRPT, a simple tether drag model is written for the steady-state TRPT, followed by an improved tether drag model for the dynamic TRPT. This modular framework allows for multiple versions of the rotor, tether aerodynamics and TRPT representations. The developed models are validated by laboratory and field-testing experimental data, simulated over a range of modelling options. Model-based analysis are performed on TRPT design, rotor design and tether drag to understand any limitations and crucial design drivers. This paper presents coupled electromagnetic (EM)–thermal modelling of the steady-state dynamic performances, such as torque speed curve and the efficiency map, for surface-mounted permanent magnet machines. One important feature of such a model is that it considers the demagnetization caused by magnet temperature rise at different rotor speeds. EM-only simulations, which often assume that the machines operate under constant temperature, have been widely used in the literature. However, the interaction between EM and thermal performances could lead to very different dynamic performance prediction. This is because the material properties, e.g., magnet remanence, coercivity, and copper resistivity are temperature-dependent. The temperature rise within electrical machines reduces torque/power density, PM eddy current losses, and iron losses but increases copper loss. Therefore, the coupled EM–thermal modelling is essential to determine accurate temperature variation and to obtain accurate EM performances of electrical machines. In this paper, the coupled EM–thermal modelling is implemented for both modular and non-modular machines to reveal the advantages of the modular machine under different operating conditions. The results show that the modular machine generally has better dynamic performance than the non-modular machine because the introduced flux gaps in alternate stator teeth can boost both EM and thermal performance. In order to study the dynamic characteristics of the 660 MW ultra-supercritical circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler when the main fuel trip (MFT) and boiler trip (BT) are triggered, a dynamic simulation model of the 660 MW ultra-supercritical circulating fluidized bed boiler was established on the Apros simulation platform. The model dynamically simulated the MFT and BT processes at 100% BMCR, 75% THA, and 50% THA conditions, respectively. The steady-state simulation results showed a high accuracy compared with the designed parameters. The dynamic simulation results showed that after triggering the MFT and BT, owing to the huge thermal inertia, the bed temperature and steam temperature decreased lowly. For 100% BMCR and 75% THA conditions, the moisture separator always worked in dry state during the MFT and BT processes. For the 50% THA condition, the moisture separator quickly switched from dry to wet operation after the boiler triggers MFT and BT and gradually switched from wet to dry operation after MFT and BT were reset. In this paper, we present the development of a non-linear model predictive controller for the trajectory tracking of a quadrotor using the CasADi optimization framework. The non-linear dynamic model of the quadrotor was derived using Newton–Euler equations, and the control algorithm and drone dynamics were wrapped in Matlab. The proposed controller was tested by simulating the tracking of a 3D helical reference trajectory, and its efficiency was evaluated in terms of numerical performance and tracking accuracy. The results showed that the proposed controller leads to faster computational times, approximately 20 times faster than the Matlab toolbox (nlmpc), and provides better tracking accuracy than both the Matlab toolbox and classical PID controller. The robustness of the proposed control algorithm was also tested and verified under model uncertainties and external disturbances, demonstrating its ability to effectively eliminate tracking errors. A pneumatic radial piston motor is studied in this paper in order to establish a dynamic modelling and simulation method. As a result of using geometric parameters, the piston cylinder volume change was calculated, and the heat transfer equation, thermodynamic energy balance equation, and motion equation were combined in order to create a complete model of the piston cylinder. With the aid of compressed air, several experimental tests were conducted, and the results of rotational speed with varying inlet pressure were fed into the simulation to determine one of the critical unknown parameters, such as the overall friction coefficient of the system. For the studied piston motor, this coefficient was 0.0625 Nm. Computer simulations can be used to adjust design parameters in order to reach a higher rotation speed by using an accurate model. As a result, better efficiency and performance present several opportunities that would not be possible when running experimental tests in a lab. The mathematical model yielded higher rotational speeds of 50 RPM on average, with an increased piston diameter of 1.775 mm; by increasing the diameter of the cylinder to 25.8 mm, it was possible to achieve faster rotational speeds. The performed precise simulation could be used for further motor design and optimisation, and performance estimates under a broader range of operational conditions. Simulations should be conducted on multiple sets of experimental test results to determine the correct f overall value for each motor. In addition to guiding the design and optimisation of the motor, simulations could also predict its performance under a broader range of operating conditions by utilising effective parameters such as geometrical characteristics, flow conditions, and motion equations. This paper presents work on a wave energy device with an on-board power take-off based on a magnetostrictively actuated deformable structure. Such devices potentially could be used in low-cost, short-term expeditionary operations. The paper discusses an analytical model that describes the heave oscillations of a buoy with two inclined, overhanging beams with magnetostrictive strips affixed to them. This work comprises the first steps toward an analytical model that would enable potential users to obtain quick power estimates at the planning stage. Here, the fully nonlinear magneto-mechanical-electrical constitutive relations are linearized about a desirable operating point, and a coupled dynamic model is derived using a variational formulation that includes buoy heave, flexural oscillations of the two beams, and the voltage response of the magnetostrictive strips. Energy conversion performance in wind-sea-dominated Pierson–Moskowitz spectra is found to be modest. An energy supply and demand forecasting system can help decision-makers grasp more comprehensive information, make accurate decisions and even plan a carbon-neutral future when adjusting energy structure, developing alternative energy resources and so on. This paper presents a hierarchical design of an energy supply and demand forecasting system based on web crawler and a grey dynamic model called GM(1,1) which covers all the process of data collection, data analysis and data prediction. It mainly consists of three services, namely Crawler Service (CS), Algorithm Service (AS), Data Service (DS). The architecture of multiple loose coupling services makes the system flexible in more data, and more advanced prediction algorithms for future energy forecasting works. In order to make higher prediction accuracy based on GM(1,1), this paper illustrates some basic enhanced methods and their combinations with adaptable variable weights. An implementation for testing the system was applied, where the model was set up for coal, oil and natural gas separately, and the enhanced GM was better with relative error about 9.18% than original GM on validation data between 2010 and 2020. A derivation of the dynamic model of a medium voltage vacuum circuit breaker and induction motor in space vectors in coordinates α β 0 allow us to model switching transients in various dynamic states of the motor. In the case of the Clark transformation, the corresponding numerical integration technique can be selected including variable time-step integration techniques to avoid numerical instabilities due to the stiffness of the system. Assymetrical operations such as switching cause the power system to become unbalanced and the transformed equations α , β , and 0 are not uncoupled. Therefore, it is necessary to derive a coupling matrix between circuit breaker voltages and currents in the coordinate system α β 0 . The subject of our interest is switching overvoltages that arise when turning off small inductive currents by a vacuum circuit breaker. When deriving the model of a vacuum circuit breaker, all its properties encountered during this action are taken into account, i.e., current chop, virtual current chop, dielectric barrier in the circuit breaker and its recovery rate, and the ability of the vacuum circuit breaker to extinguish high frequency currents. Simulation results are compared with the measured results on a medium voltage motor as well as with the simulation results of the mathematical model of the test circuit according to IEC 62271-110 resolved using the nodal method (EMTP algorithm). This paper presents the results of a calculation code approach providing a solution to the point kinetics problem for the IVG.1M research reactor of the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan and allowing the simulation of dynamic processes going on during reactor start-ups, including changes in the thermal state of all its elements, reactor regulator displacement, accumulation of absorbers in the fuel, and the beryllium reflector. A mathematical description of the IVG.1M point kinetics model is presented, which provides a calculation of the reactor neutron parameters, taking into account the dependence of reactivity effects on the temperature, changes in the isotopic composition of materials, and thermal expansion of core structural elements. An array of data values was formed of reactivity added by separate elements of the core when changing their thermal state and other reactor parameters, as well as an array of data with the parameters of heat exchange of coolant-based reactor structural elements. These are used in the process of solving the point kinetics problem to directly replace formal parameters, eliminating the need to calculate the values of these parameters at each calculation step. Preliminary calculations to form an array of values of reactivity effects was applied to the reactor by separate structural elements when their temperature changes were performed using the IVG.1M precision reactor calculation model. The model was validated by the reactor parameters in the critical state. Preliminary calculations to form an array of data with the parameters of heat exchange of coolant-based reactor structural elements were performed in ANSYS Fluent software using the calculation model that describes the IVG.1M reactor fuel element in detail. Validation of the developed calculation code based on the results of two start-ups of the IVG.1M reactor was performed and its applicability for the analysis of transient and emergency modes of reactor operation and evaluation of its safe operation limits was confirmed.
