Abstract

This article discusses the effectiveness of Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG) as a treatment for obesity. The study aimed to identify baseline and early indicators of success or failure in ESG procedures. The results showed that early weight loss, specifically achieving a 37.1% excess weight loss (EWL) at one month after the procedure, was the strongest predictor of long-term success. Identifying patients at risk of poor response early on can help optimize post-operative care and potentially improve outcomes through additional treatments such as medication or psychological support.
