The article examines the proposed Smart Growth Management Plan in Central Ontario. It is stated that the plan proposes several objectives including protecting the green space, reducing traffic congestion and increasing the economic viability of the cities. According to the author, the Province of Ontario is considering the plan as a significant step in maintaining and increasing the competitiveness of the Golden Horseshoe Region. He denotes that the plan may increase and decrease the vulnerability of the area to climate change.
