In this paper, we aim to make a rescue of some historical landmarks founders productivity at work and in education to better understand the logic legitimizes reaching the core of the teaching activity. The advance of the criteria on the productive worker training has its first expressions in the 1940s, even during the dictatorship of the Estado Novo. Firstly, we make a brief presentation of the concept of productivity; after that, some of its founders landmarks in the history of the country are shown, and, lastly, there is a presentation of the particularity of one of these landmarks: the presence of CBAI (Brazilian-American Commission of Industrial Education .)

As the title reveals, this paper points out the roles that have been assigned to teachers, acknowledging the increasing complexity of scholar education, in order to enhance the aspects to attend in teachers ́ training. The aims of this paper are, therefore, as follows: defining knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the teaching work; putting in perspective the components and procedures of teachers ́ training. Referring to these aims and basing upon the roles that have been assigned to the school and the teachers in Portugal in the last four decades,this paper builds up a reflection on the aspects to look for on teacher’s training.

This paper shows that there is not ethically neutral education. In the process of forming an individual it becomes impossible to separate the issue of education from a set of ethical attributes. This paper examines the issue of (co) relation between ethics and education, in order to discuss the nature and function of the educational act, considering the implications and results in the formation of the individual. It argues that it is up to the educator to develop critical-reflexive dimension, exploring themes of motivation and proximity to the real conditions of existential and experiential learners, prompt the mentality of the research and the pursuit of knowledge autonomously, demonstrate the causes and reasons of oppression, motivate dialogue and hear what the students have to say and take their ethical responsibility to citizenship clarified.

The paper aims to investigate potential tensions between local and global context of contemporary ruralities, emphasizing the times, rhythms and spaces constructed from the experiences of teachers and students in the organization of the routines of rural schools. The paper presents theoretical considerations resulting from two studies in the Graduate Program in Education and Contemporary - PPGEduC / UNEB. The clipping and analysis undertaken focus on education developed in rural areas and tensions present in this context in view, discuss issues concerning the new ruralities contemporary. This discussion has as its central theme the issues of timing and the rhythm in schools with multigrade classes Island Tide that articulates with dilemmas and tensions surrounding the experience lived by teachers of geography of the city engaged in teaching in rural areas in semi-arid region of Bahia. This movement creates stress for teachers’ work, since it complicates the relationship between the times established, standardized and rigid, with times of personal students and teachers, covering aspects such as age, life histories, movements and experiences socio-historical and geographical subjects involved in the processes of teaching and learning in rural settings in contemporary times.

This paper is the result of a Master's dissertation linked to the training of educators research line, at PPGED-UFS[i].The general objective of this study was to describe the position of Arts teachers in the face of their continuing training process. Its specific objectives are: to characterize pedagogical problems with regard to Arts teaching, with emphasis on their origin and how teachers solve them; to understand the connection that these teachers establish with regard to the multivalence of artistic languages; and to relate these issues with the professional life cycle with the aspect of motivation and demand for the realization of the different modalities of continuing training. The research is configured in a qualitative - descriptive approach. The instruments used to collect qualitative data were 30 questionnaires with closed questions and 10 semi-structured interviews. The theoretical basis of this research is organized from the understanding of continuing training as a deontological element of the teaching profession and the characterization of the teaching of the curricular component Arts. The results obtained demonstrate several aspects that may affect the planning of training practices aimed at Arts teachers.

This paper presents a case study on the teaching of the visual arts in an attempt to understand the process of constructing a perspective of intercultural education in this school discipline in Colégio Pedro II. Through the analysis of curricular documents and interviews with teachers, in interlocution with the critical intercultural education and decolonization referenced in post-abyssal thought, it was verified that the construction of the intercultural perspective in the first segment of Elementary Education, produced in dialogue with the pedagogy of visual culture and the intercultural teaching of the visual arts, has occurred amid tensions and disputes with the defenders of the conception of traditional art education centered in the work of art, established predominantly in the second segment of Elementary Education. The final reflections point to the challenge of constructing a project of intercultural training of teachers of visual arts in friction with the Eurocentric systematization of art history that presides over the curricula of this discipline in basic school and in the courses of initial formation of teachers / at.

This text aims to show, from a practical study developed in a K-12 Education school in Brazil, how the individual experience of proprioception can be assumed as a collective experience. The paper describes an experiment based on exercises from the corporeal pedagogy of François Delsarte (1811-1871), establishing relations with Somatic Education. The answers provided by female and male students who filled out the study questionnaires are analyzed, transcribing their perceptions, remarkably those referring to breathing and weight sensation. Lastly, it is presented a reflection on the meanings that could be gathered from the notion of collective (and in common) based on the experience of proprioception in the school pedagogic work.

A self-evaluation survey is one of the basic tools used by every higher education institution for the purpose of identifying and improving the quality of its educational services. A relevant segment of the self-evaluation procedure is the work of the HE teacher; the assessment is provided via a survey filled in by each course student’s attendants respectively. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to show the advantages and disadvantages of the students’ survey as a part of the self-evaluation process at the “Sv. Kliment Ohridski” University in Bitola, Republic of Macedonia. The research has a qualitative paradigm, i.e. the twelve survey statements within this survey are analyzed regarding the impact they have on the validity and objectivity of the results to be provided about the HE teachers’ work quality, and regarding their relevance in the multidimensional teaching construct. The research has also a quantitative paradigm, i.e. an analysis of the opinions of 100 HE teachers of this University about the effects of the students’ survey answers on their teaching, and an analysis of 200 students of this University about the efficiency of the survey they fill in. The research has a descriptive design. The methods used for processing the data and for gaining conclusions consist of analyses, syntheses and comparison. The research results indicate that besides the advantages, this students’ survey has numerous disadvantages that should be taken into account because they influence both the validity and the objectivity of the grade given to the HE teachers’ work. It consequently imposes the need for urgent revision of the survey questions.

The objective of this paper is to discuss the changes in the public management models and the implications for educational management. We assumed that the standard of management of public institutions changes as the restructuring of capitalism and its constant crises. The study makes reference to three management models, namely: bureaucratic management, democratic management and the business management. Concludesthat in public administration there is a predominance of model management business management and bureaucratic management, which has not yet been surpass. However, contradictorily, the democratic management is present in the educational legislation, due to the struggle of workers in this area, but unfolds very thin and embryonic form in the public schools.

In this paper we discusses the importance of the childish education teachers clearly know about the meaning and the sense of the play activities with children 0 a 6 years old. This is part of doctor thesis from among of goals, one of them was to unveil the meaning and sense of the play activities attributed by childish education teachers. Part of the methodology used in the research involved interview with five childish education teachers who participated of a course about o theme and, so, video-records about yours routines and activities with the children. The results denote that the meaning and sense attributed by these teachers at to propose play activities for the children are connected to understanding of this activity as generating of the learns for this ages and, therefore, it needs to be developed with pleasure. The changes in the practices with the children are attribute to the courses which the teachers change experiences, discusses problems, suggest solutions and enlarge the possibilities about yours practices with children, which can to mean the improvement of the childish education quality. This paper presents the report of an investigation whose aim was to know the focus on Science teaching in initial series of elementary school and to understand the contributions of teacher’s participation in study groups for transformation of teaching practice in Sciences classes. It’s believed that the role of teachers is to give to their students opportunities for construction/reconstruction of knowledge. Thus, there is essential that teachers keep themselves in constant training The study was conducted with teachers of initial series (to 1st from 4th) from a school from the Rio Grande do Sul (RS) state in the 2006 / 2007 period. A qualitative analysis methodology was employed in this study, and data was obtained in the natural environment, namely,the school. Through Discoursive Textual Analysis (MORAES and GALIAZZI, 2007) about the data that was collected, it was concluded that the study groups can contribute to transformation and to development of pedagogical teacher’s practice, particularly in regard to Sciences classes, as well on student learning, ie the construction of their knowledge. It has been observed a growth of the group in the course of the meetings, not only by the concern of the teachers in changing their classes, but also to taking the necessary decisions to make it possible.

This paper presents some preliminaries results of a research that investigates the representations about race, color, Difference, Prejudgment and Racial Discrimination of the school’s agents teachers, employees and students) on the quotidian of the History’s, Portuguese’s and Art’s classes of the first two year of the secondary education of a Belém-PA’s private school, in order to understand the place of the black people in the school pedagogic practices, regarding the obligation of touching racial subjects as established by the low 10.639/2003. Using the methodological and theoretic approach of Pierre Bourdieu and Roger Chartier, we analyzed the representations obtained by the non-participative observation in those classes. We realized that teachers almost didn’t know anything about the low 10.639/2003 and about the ethnic and racial question on Brazil, what brings as result the reproduction of racial prejudgment and discrimination by the students. Our analysis aims, from understanding the problems with teacher development, to understand the problems related to the ethnic and racial question at school and propose solutions.

We have seen a huge investment in technological resources in education recently. It is internationally recognized that Portugal is one of the European leaders in making technology accessible to schools. However, there is doubt in regards to the effectiveness and efficiency of these investments. When evaluating technological projects, problems in teachers’ education and in the methodologies are often found.This paper aims to provide a better understanding about the true role of technology in education and also to present some guidance so that its integration can occur within a higher level of educational intentionality.

This paper shows some of the challenges faced by university professors, who are increasingly subjected to work with the individual differences in Higher Education institutions. The starting point for this research are the programs used to access Higher Education, developed by a group of Community Universities in southern Brazil. A theoretical perspective that considers language as constitutive, not just representational, is adopted, thus knowledge and people are built. The methodology used was documentary analysis. It has been argued that only access programs are not enough to guarantee the students permanence in the Universities. It is intended to show with the analyze that, by narrating about these students, we do not see them like problems, but we consider them possibilities, thus it is probable thatother forms of experiencing inclusion in the University and other students are going to be produced.

The aim of this paper was to analyze the possible profile (s) of the of the paulista public school principal, questioning the literature in the area, public service exams and policy guidelines, ambos from the state, in a historical perspective. The findings allowed us to state that, despite advances in the 1980s, mainly regarding the denial of business Administration and the incentive for the construction of a theoretical body proper to school Administration, what predominates in more recent years is the non-initial training of the school principal and a performance based on the “manager”. The achieved advances found real (and pragmatic) barriers when this examined principal is submitted to continued training courses and to legislation that determine a managerial profile, emptied of other possibilities for not dialoguing with an alternative strengthened initial training regarding what is received daily from higher courts.

The paper presents part of the research called From family logic to school logic: paths and perspectives in children education. This study, as a qualitative approach of etnographic nature, started from the principle that a researcher must be inserted in the social field of the investigation. In this perspective, we tried to stablish the space for dialogue between schools and families, provoking an attentive “listening”, as well as an opportunity to discuss the pluralism of logic and culture of families, and deepen the knowledge about its relations in the educational context. The research pointed out to the necessity of comprehend relationship strategies created by schools, detaching how the confrontation (THIN, 1998) between family and school logic enables the creation of relationship strategies that qualify a school as a place for childcare and education.

This paper discusses the animality while intrinsic quality of the human. Attempts to their potential as sensitive formative sphere and defends it as a way to create alternative modes of subjectification. Seeks to unveil some natural conditioning inherent to the moral standards. Nietzsche (2005) and Schiller (2002) help to situate the genesis of morality and the human motivations that lead to socialization. Guattari (1992, 2003) contributes to the foundation of an alternative paradigm of subjectification regarding the topic animality. This paradigm seeks to give rise to subjectification ways heterogeneous and open to the absolute otherness, sphere of infinites subjectivizing alternatives. Finally, suggests that the animality be reconsidered as element of exponentiation of the sensitivity in Education.

This paper discusses various experiments that reveal understandings, dilemmas and eases on the issue of gender and sexuality in teacher’s training. Mainly through a post-structuralist theoretical perspective, here it is discussed the author’s experiences regarding reports (their contexts and meanings) that have been collected during his work as a university professor, researcher in the field of gender and sexuality and militant towards sexual diversity. With these educational practices reflected theoretically, it is concluded that a possible way to start thinking teacher education and issues of gender and sexuality is from strangeness to transgressions in classrooms, let emerge the difference and think about it critically in search of experiences not lived yet and not necessarily in search of a respect for diversity.

Through this paper we question the need for discussion of the agrarian question conflictualities with the youth field. This need is justified because of two arguments: the continuous recognition and collective union and educational principle in mobilization and peasant resistance and also the act permanent researcher in knowing the peasant reality in an effort to promote the effective field of educational research. Therefore, we need to understand the concept of conflict and field education as a practice intrinsic to educational research in the field.

The central objective of this study was to list and discuss the advantages of Collaborative / Cooperative Learning (CL) as a proposed increase in undergraduate education (Higher Education) in Brazil. The main theoretical reference adopted was the line of study of Alcantara et al. Based on the considerations presented in this article, it is possible to conclude that CL is feasible, dynamic and current, and provides numerous opportunities for successful experiences for learning. The students’ training occurs in participatory, articulate, reflective, and socially contextualized way, contributing to the formation of thorough professionals, who understand their role in society. This present paper contributes to the dissemination and spread of CL to a larger number of higher educational institutions in Brazil.

In this paper we propose a reflection on the challenge of school to work the question of knowledge in the form of a subject and the need of rebinding the knowledge. Among the many tasks that historically have always been tasks of school education, there is the commitment to transmission and production of knowledge. When referring to the school as a privileged agency dealing with the issue of knowledge, many implications arising from this statement are faced. It is sought to interpret these implications and possibilities in the light of the contributions of the principles of complexity theory due to the understanding that this paradigmatic matrix one of the privileged references for understanding the process of production of relevant knowledge, i.e., a knowledge that, while it distinguish itself, seeks to promote the rebinding of knowledge.

This paper analyzes the presence of film useage in young and adults education. It shows results of a survey that aimed to know the ways of appropriation of film at school by the educators of adult education. To understand that question, it was analyzed the content of the speech of teachers and observed some teaching practice in which film was used. From the analysis of collected data, it was concluded that educators have appropriated and used film like illus - tration of the curriculum contents and of the subjects studied, cha - racterizing the use of film as an additional and secondary resource in activities of school.

Considering the importance of the theoretical assumptions that un - derlie the practice of integral education inside the history of Bra - zilian education, it is essential to comprehend it in its entirety to understand its proposals and how they contribute to social change and to a complete formation of new generations. Therefore, this paper aims to understand the possible approaches between the concept of integral education and the historical-critical perspective developed by the educator Dermeval Saviani, correlating both with the extended school day. It was used the literature research to do an analysis of a theory developed by authors who approach themselves by having the same ideal of integral education. It was expected to contribute to discussions on the implementation of educational po - licy of integral education in a full time, buoyed by historical-critical perspective.

School psychology is dedicated to integrate actions that can facilitate the process of learning and development of scholar community. The psychologist has the function of reviewing his or her own professional concepts and practices constantly so that he or she can deal with the complexity of this reality, broadening the concept of school complaints in order to identify other factors associated with these complaints. This paper presents a report on the interventions done during an internship of school psychology at an Elementary School in the countryside of RS. It was noticed an initial necessity of awareness about the psychologist role and about a greateracceptance of a job that could not be just clinical. The practice of the psychologist and of the psychology intern in this context were discussed and related to education and health in a broad sense.

This paper questions the possibility of releasing the subjectivity, in the tension between life and work, which constitutes the professional qualification. It analyzes the similarities between training and work, towards a self-awareness and social consciousness in the context of culture. This study also notes how the concept of competence points to training processes aimed at mere adaptation to the capitalist logic, reducing life to work.

This paper is the result of a research related to the school culture studies. The school culture is an important theoretical key for the internal comprehension of the day-to-day of the school, by focusing on the interaction of the school´s actors. Our goal was to comprehend the functionalism of the abandonment of teaching in Physical Education (PE) for the school culture. It was an ethnomethodological research and carried out in a school situated in Curitiba – PR, using field diary and biographical interview as instruments for data collection. We observed two classes of PE, one of the 4th and another of the 5th school year. We concluded that the abandonment of teaching in PE is functional to the school culture, being supported by other actors of the school day living.

This article discusses some trends of the labor in the capitalist society in the context of restructuring of contemporary modes of production, arguing in favor of a point of view that understands the trend of increasing and consolidating form of immaterial labor as a hegemonic type of labor in the knowledge society. It also argues on forms of labor in the tertiary sector and discusses several forms of immaterial labor in the current society. Finally, this paper discusses teachers’ work as one form of immaterial labor related with subjective and emotional aspects of teachers’ identity. It is a theoretical discussion on teachers’ work in the context of contemporary capitalism.

This paper discusses how teachers unions have been singled out for attack because throughout the world they are the most significant barriers to this project of education reform that has been implemented in the last four decades. Teachers unions globally have experienced an astoundingly well-orchestrated, well-financed attack, and resistance elsewhere in the world has been forceful and persistent. This article presents the policies of the major teacher unions in the USA - NEA and AFT - demonstrating the efforts of an emergent resistance of activists who have questioned political actions of both national unions in the teachers battles. At last, the author defends that emergent group of activists must occupy unions in order to change their way of fighting in defense of teachers and public education.

This paper analyzes the relationship between work and education in project of human training in capitalist schools, taking as phenomenon of study the organization of educational work, that is, relations and processes that are established between the subjects of the school (teachers and students) and knowledge seized by them during school life. Therefore, the text was organized in two parts: the first deals with the relationship between work and education as a characteristic phenomenon of the human being, whose historic features cleave the relationship of the work and, as a result, their educational processes; the second part deals with the organization of educational work in capitalist schools, in which we noted that the two main categories of meaning that impart training of the students in the school are employability and discipline to the productive sphere.

Having Sophoclean play Oedipus King as a frame of reference, the purpose of this paper is to discuss the educative proposal conceived to the Greek Man as preparation for life in the polis. Although not intentionally, Sophocles pointed out an ideal of Man which, in his perspective, would fulfill Greek societal demands of that time. Such society was divided between myth and rationality and, as a result, Man found Himself in conflict and lacking direction for His life. Given that, Oedipus’ character represented the ideal behavior of that society, and it also made it possible for citizens to reflect and to discuss social, economic and political transformations taking place at that period. Thus Sophocles came up with a hero who was an educational model and a citizen’s as well. Furthermore, such hero differed from that one of the archaic Greek thought.

This paper aims to present a survey experience which sought to understand the meanings of school reprobation and the elements related to it by students on the last grades of elementary public schools in São João del-Rei, Minas Gerais. Presently, the investigated teenagers attended the regular teaching program and Programa Acelerar para Vencer (PAV), implemented by the state government in 2008. We take as basement some contributions from theoretical and methodological perspectives of interactionism, especially the ethnomethodological aspect. The study showed that meanings given to the school reprobation vary from rejection and belief in its disciplinary power. We noticed by the students’ speeches that reprobation is only seen as a failure by those students who see school as the only way to achieve professional success.

This paper presents reflections on reading and writing, from the research project “Literacy Lab: rethinking teacher training” which aims to establish exchanges between socially vulnerable schools and the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) and contribute to the training of undergraduates in Pedagogy and Special Education, as well as the teachers of the schools involved. Adopting a qualitative methodology based on studies of Bogdan and Bicklen (1994), the project seeks to support the literacy process by proposing reflection on the current pedagogical practices in the early years of elementary school. The results show the existence of practices in elementary school which mostly ignore the creative ability of the students. It was concluded that this project has enhanced the relationship between initial and continuous training of teachers and practices of reading and writing.

Several studies about school success confirm that a positive teacherstudent relationship can favor a strong engagement to school life. Such studies emphasize the fact that teachers contribute to school success when they combine both a demanding and a supportive attitude towards their students, such attitude arising from a sense of value and trust in their students’ capabilities. This paper examines the different meaning that successful secondary education students give to their academic experience and defines some of the specific features of teaching which help to create a positive school-student relationship.

The presence of educational laptops in the routine of students and teachers might contribute for the construction of innovative alternatives for the teaching practice. With that in mind, this paper starts with the idea that the insertion of educational laptops in 1:1 model might be a disturbing element, triggering a process of reflection and awareness of the teaching practice on teachers themselves. That could lead to redimensioning the pedagogical practice in a movement towards including the laptop significantly in the school routine. We present a case study from an exploratory perspective about the insertion of laptops in a public school (from elementary to junior high), analyzing the process of digital literacy taking place in that school community. In that sense, digital literacy implies on the interaction in social networks that allow exploration and research, teaching and criticizing in a construction process of learning and knowing mediated by digital technologies. To do so, from the non-linearity that accompanies the communication flows emerging from these technologies, students and teachers are instigated to find new meanings, where reading and writing consist in sharing knowledge and opinions and not only an assignment to hand in.

In this paper we addressed aspects of the disciplines “Curricular Training” and “Didactics” in the Pedagogy Course in training of teachers. The main objective is to emphasize upon submission of the work that we do in our teaching practice in the mentioned disciplines, the importance of linking the theory and the practice in training of teachers so that the teaching in the university it is not decontextualized but enriched with the issues of everyday school life. In this sense, we address, initially, the aspects of the Curricular training as a mediator link of the learning, of the articulation of the curriculum and of the practices and, in this view, as a productive conduit between the university and the basic education, stressing the need for the reception of the contribution that each institutions within its specificity, must provide in the training courses. In sequence, we present aspects of the structure of the work we do with our students in Early Childhood Education Curricular Training. Finally, are detailed the aspects of a Didactics for the teachers of early childhood education and for the early years of Fundamental Education, focusing on narratives of in-service teachers on their experiences teaching in search of new systematization of pedagogical practice and on by own teachers.

This paper aims to approach, even though in a briefly way, the subject of invention in the training of teachers. In order to do this, we will make a brief overview on Virgínia Kastrup contributions about this issue. One of the questions is the time - through Henri Bergson’s duration concept and its using in training theme. From this point, we will try to deconstruct a view about the identity reference in contemporaneity toward to multiple and open ways of existence. In the inventive movements of the processuality, the time is considered as an expression of human being individuation. It means to last refer to an immediacy of being, of being time, which are modulable and mutant, always in a creation process. In a movement of building a body which leaves an identity reference – that is opposite of self-transformation – necessarily we report us to the relation between the idea of time as duration and the individuation principle by Gilberto Simondon. With these concepts and their possible resonance in the discussion about formative politics, we can develop a view over the invisible to training of teachers and over the learners and another ways of operating in the world. The invention as a lever direct us to a field of possibilities to conceive and experience another time (and space) which is producer of subjectivity, singularities and differences.

This paper discusses the formal aspects of writing and reading within the classroom context, emphasizing the importance of the students’ role, favoring their authorship as writers and readers from written culture. We understand that it is indispensable that the school beholds a prospective view in relation to the students’ learning, taking their ideas and constructions into consideration; that is, bearing in mind the culture of which they are carriers. We highlight the literacy teacher’s role in the process of organizing the pedagogical work that is aimed at teaching and learning reading and writing for the students that are in the early years of elementary school. In this way, we point out that the organization of the teaching requires teaching investment towards the improvement of activities and knowledge that focus on the organization of the pedagogical work, marking a long path to go to allow the assumption of pedagogical protagonism.

Grounded on Bauman’s thought, the present paper focuses on the constitution of social legitimacy and identity of Physical Education in the context of transition from solid to liquid modernity. This thought favors the understanding of the nature of the crisis that has crossed the identity discourse of Physical Education. The text signals the limits and possibilities of both the modern and the post-modern educational discourses. In this context, it describes a modern scenario that is marked by two distinct moments, the one of modernity at its solid stage, and that of modernity at its liquid stage. The first one, of solid modernity, social condition of surveillance, rationalization and control, performs the functional / adaptive role of putting everyone under the same rigid order (managed society). The second one, of liquid modernity, of the social condition of insignificance and irrationalism, plays the functional role of putting and keeping everyone under the same flexible Market disorder. From the scientific, mechanic focus of both the body and the physical education in solid modernity we have moved to the relativist and esthetic focus of body and physical education in liquid modernity.

The paper presents a State of the Art regarding the research project “the efficacy and the quality of skill acquisition in rural education: is this model transferable to different types of schools?” (EDU2009-13460, Subprograma EDUC). This 3-year project was funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, within the Work Programme of the National R&D&I Plan for Fundamental Oriented Research Projects. The study, now in its third year, was carried out in both Latin America and Europe. It analyses the skill acquisition of primary students in rural schools in Chile, Uruguay, France, Portugal and Spain, according to the active and participatory didactic methodologies that were applied in specific schools and in relation to the degree of influence each local territory has at a cultural-pedagogical level. This study uses an interpretive paradigm, combining quantitative methods such as the design and application of a survey, and qualitative techniques including semi-structured interviews and ethnography. The investigation is now in its last phase, during which we will carry out an analysis of documents and participant observation. The results intend to show whether the pedagogic model found in rural schools that use participatory and active didactic methodologies is transferable to urban schools, and will generate conclusions that will aid in improving the quality of education in schools of all types.

This paper discusses the musical proposal to Program of Serial University Entrance Examination of University of Brasília (PAS/UnB). The discussion is based on author’s participation on elaboration, systematization, and review groups of 2001 and 2006 programs, as well her researches and her teacher training activities with PAS. The text presents the program, its evaluation conception and the music-pedagogical principles and purposes that guide the insertion of musical knowledge as compulsory evaluation’s object in the university entrance examination. The last program’s version has adopted an Evaluation’s Matrix with some music competences, abilities and evaluation’s objects. The development of music’s competences and abilities is oriented by a music repertoire that defi- nes the content and should be a way for development of musical practices and experiences (performance, improvisation and composition), reception (musical appraising) and context. In this process, the schools and its music teachers are responsible for create learning and teaching situations where the musical experience could be celebrated in sense of to promote a musical significant learning experience and the student’s success in PAS/UnB exams.

In 2006, began the program Education Schools Fulltime municipal schools in Juiz de Fora. Concurrent with the Program began a project to research and extension “Times at school,” a partnership between the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, Education Department and schools for full-time municipal network. In 2010, the group’s actions focused on the Program Evaluation Schools Education Full-Time, whose research methodology was to work with focus groups composed by members of various segments of the school: students, teachers, administrative staff (principals, vice-directors and coordinators), general services staff and mothers of students. In this paper, we prioritize the discussion about the texture and its implications for curriculum/ daily-school full-time education, discussed and problematized by focus groups. To give tone to the debate, we have made use of the discussion that underlies our ways of thinking / living / experiencing the world, given the current moment of crisis andstress paradigm, which will go some way influence the multiple ways in which we create everyday knowledge and weave it into the curriculum networks in/for/withdail.

In this paper, I discuss one of the central problems that has plagued college and university-based pre-service teacher education for many years, the disconnect between the campus and school-based components of programs. First, I will draw on my own experiences as a teacher educator and administrator over the last thirty plus years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the literature to lay out various dimensions of this issue. Then, utililizing the concept of hybridity and “third space,” I will discuss a variety of current work in programs across the U.S. that offers much promise in deepening the quality of teacher learning in college and university-based teacher education programs and the ability of teacher education graduates to enact desired teaching practices in complex school settings. This work in creating hybrid spaces in teacher education where academic and practitioner knowledge and knowledge that exists in communities come together in new less hierarchical ways in the service of teacher learning represents a paradigm shift in the epistemology of teacher education programs. I argue that this shift toward more democratic and inclusive ways of working with schools and communities is necessary for colleges and universities to fulfill their mission in the education of teachers.
