International audience; Molecular screening of rodents from French Guiana has detected a new arenavirus, named ''Pata-wa,'' in two Oecomys species (Muridae, Sigmodontinae). Further investigations are needed to better understand the circulation of this virus in rodent and human populations and its public health impact.
