The article offers information on the International Marine Mammal Project (IMMP), an ecology conservation project based in Japan. Through the efforts of IMMP, the director of food products for Okuwa Supermarket Corp., Yasunari Kanki, banned the sale of dolphin meat in all their stores throughout Japan. IMMP and other groups have been trying for years to curtail the use of intense military sonars in California, which blast some of the loudest underwater sounds ever produced by humans. The Food Lion chain of supermarkets, North Carolina, has agreed to stop all purchases from Dolores Tuna, Mexico. The suspension was the result of documentation provided by IMMP that the tuna is caught by the intentional chasing and capture of dolphins.
