The invention of street vendors in urban public places help in creating a living cultural enclave despite the robustness of street activities. This paper aims to explore the potentials of street vending as a place making tool in creating a dynamic public area. By choosing Bandar Tasik Puteri as a case study, this paper investigates how street vendors may help to create and improve the livelihood in a public place. The mixed method approach through site observation and questionnaire survey were adopted to capture tangible and intangible aspect of the study area. Findings of the study reveals that Bandar Tasik Puteri has a great potential for street vendor activities as it will improve quality of life of local community, foster social interactions and create dynamic public space within the area. However, several challenges need to be resolved beforehand, including limited space and regulatory issues. The paper highlights the importance of a supportive legislative framework and a collaborative approach among stakeholders to enable the long-term growth of street vending as a means of improving public spaces and boosting public participation. Begin in 1971 a new era in the Malaysian development has been started in which the emphasis on national unity became the national agenda. Tun Abdul Razak policy become an important person to bring the development through the New Economy Policy which the last product is unity. The impact of the policy the community has changed from traditional society to a modern society. Emile Durkheim already uses the concept as mechanical solidarity (rural community) and organic solidarity (modern community) to describe the changes. Ferdinand Tonnies described the changes through the concept of Gemeinschaft (community) to Gesellschaft (society). Through changes and modernization, society has changed to a more individualistic but still blend in among them in a new way, through association. In Malaysia, we have a department that manages the unity called the Rukun Tetangga-RT (Neighbourhood Watch). RT is the institution that officially is under the Department of National Unity and Integration (JPNIN). Therefore, RT plays important roles, especially in organizing the community, especially in the state of multicultural society. RT in this study area covers the district of Hulu Langat Selangor, Malaysia. There are seven zones in the district that includes Kajang, Ampang, Cheras, Beranang, Hulu Langat and Semenyih and Bangi. This study uses the questionnaire. This paper attempts to look at social cohesion in the community, especially in the neighborhood of RT in the district. This study has used the concept of social cohesion brought by Jenson (1998) and Paul Bernard (2000). There are six dimensions used to measure social cohesion: Belonging-Isolation, Inclusion-Exclusion, Participation-Non-involvement, Recognition-rejection, Legitimacy-Illegitimacy and Equality-inequality. A total of 588 questionnaires were analyzed. The discussion in this paper try to get feedback and input from presenters and participants of the seminar to improve the research was conducted. Body shaming is an issue that often sees as unimportant by the society. Body shaming is believed effected on mental and psychological wellbeing of an individual. The victims of body shaming has high risks of depression, low in motivation, low self-confidence, isolation and prone to serious mental disorders like eating disorders and risk of suicidal ideation especially among teenagers. This article is aims to explore the experiences of body shaming victims among teenagers in Selangor. The study opted to qualitative approach with semi-structured in-depth interviews. A total of six informants were selecting used purposive and snowballing sampling. The verbatim of the interviews were analysed by using thematic analysis. Two themes emerged to illustrate the experiences of body shaming victims; 1.Various self-acceptance; negative selfacceptance and imperfection is perfect; and 2. Reciprocal relationships; disrespect from significant others and two-sides of relationship in social media. This study proposed to increase the awareness on the impact of body shaming among individuals. The relevant parties also should provide support holistically for helping to increase the well-being of teenagers by providing proper interventions to intervene the issues of body shaming and related issues of body image. Organizational commitment is posited to be influenced by organizations' leadership styles. This is due to leadership provides guidance and influence the organizations' members to move towards attaining the collective objectives. Within the context of a high compliance organizations such as the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM, leadership style is expected to impose stronger influence on the members' work behaviors including the organizational commitment. Thus, this study aims to analyse the effect of transformational and transactional leadership styles on the organizational commitment of the lower rank police officers in the PDRM. The study employs quantitative research design which based on the survey technique. Questionnaires are distributed to 226 respondents among the lower rank police officers who are involved in the crime prevention and enforcement task in the Police Headquarters in one of the districts in Selangor. The study sample has been selected through the random sampling technique and consist of members from the Sub Inspector, Sargent Major, Sargent, Corporal, Lans Corporal and Constable ranks. The Multiple Regression analysis is used to test the influence between variables in the study framework. The study findings show a significant relationship between the transformation and transactional leadership style with the members' organizational commitment. As a result, transformational and transactional leadership styles are essential leadership styles that have influence on the lower rank police officers' organizational commitment. The study result further indicates transformational leadership styles has more positive influence and dominance in contributing to higher level of organizational commitment compared to the transactional leadership style. The development of the oil palm industry in Malaysia began in 1917 with the establishment of the first oil palm plantation in Tennamaran, Selangor. Subsequently, the establishment of oil palm plantations increased dramatically in the early 1960s when FELDA opened up large-scale plantations in line with the Government's policy to eradicate poverty. Presently, oil palm has become one of Malaysia's most important commodity crops. The value chain of the palm oil industry is divided into three segments, namely upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors. The upstream sector consists of seedling preparation activities, planting, and harvesting of fresh fruits bunches (FFBs). The midstream sector is the manufacturing process that involves the processing and refining of FFB which is harvested from the plantation or collected from smallholders to produce crude palm oil. Eventually, crude palm oil will be further treated in the downstream sector to be stored or marketed either domestically or exported before eventually reaching the consumers. The final product is usually a food product. Albeit the various successes achieved by the palm oil industry within the 100 years of progress in Malaysia, there are various issues and challenges faced by the country's palm oil industry. As such, this study aims to (i) identify the main issues and challenges of Malaysia's palm oil upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors and (ii) carry out comparisons related to the key issues and challenges of the Indonesian palm oil industry as Malaysia's main competitor. This study applied the qualitative approach in investigating issues and challenges of the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors of the palm oil industry. In-depth, interviews were employed as the main research instrument, and document analysis was conducted to support the results obtained from the in-depth interview. The study found that among the main issues of the country's palm oil industry are labor shortages, environmental sustainability of oil palm plantation and palm oil manufacturing, negative perceptions towards palm oil from the international community, and trade barriers. These issues and challenges need to be addressed effectively, including diplomatic relations as well as increasing consumer confidence in palm oil products, which requires a strategic approach. Emotional intelligence is an important skill to enhance counselor’s competency to improve effectiveness of their leadership. This study aimed to identify the emotional intelligence, leadership and its relationship with job satisfaction among secondary school head of counseling and guidance teachers. A total of 168 head of counseling and guidance teachers from 168 day secondary schools in Selangor were selected as the study sample. To measure emotional intelligence, the Malaysian Emotional Intelligence Inventory (MEQI) was used. Meanwhile, the Malaysian Leadership Audit Trail Inventory (MLATI) leadership instrument by Elmi-Noriah (2013) was used to measure the level of leadership. The instrument used to measure the level of job satisfaction is ‘Job Descriptive Index’ (1975). The findings of the study shows that head of counseling and guidance teachers obtained high percentage scores for seven domains of emotional intelligence (Self-Awareness, Self-Regulation, SelfMotivation, Empathy, Social Skills, Spirituality and Maturity). However, the results found that the head of counseling and guidance teachers had a moderate score on the sub-domains of emotional intelligence which are helping others, political awareness, catalysts of change, relationship building, collaboration, teamwork and communication. The study also found that the overall level of leadership for head of counseling and guidance teachers was at a moderate level. Component-based analysis showed that head of counseling and guidance teacher were found to be moderate for the components of Placement, Assessment and Respect, Engagement and Retention, Leadership Building, Recruiting and Relationships with Equivalent Holders/Stakeholders, except for the Service Strategy and Leadership Model components which recorded to be high. Study also shows that there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence with job satisfaction and leadership with job satisfaction among secondary school head of counseling and guidance teachers. In conclusion, the higher the level of emotional intelligence, the higher the level of job satisfaction of the head teacher of Guidance and Counseling. The implication of this study is it is able to help counseling teachers, especially leaders in making self -assessment to further improve the professionalism of counseling teachers. Apart from that, the results of this study can help school administrators and the Ministry of Education Malaysia to design suitable programs for the sake of improving the competencies of Guidance and Counseling Teachers. The article discusses on how Lukut, which was formerly a territory within the state of Selangor, was officially demarcated to Negeri Sembilan in 1880. The change occurred after British began to intervene, thus lead to the change of the border successfully. Following this matter, the focus of this study will observe on how the boundary change process took place and what factors caused the British to act in such a way. This writing uses a historical approach. For the suitability of the study, the method adopted is a qualitative analysis method. The resources to be used include primary sources such as the British Colonial Office File (C.O. 273) and secondary sources. Based on these sources, the study found that the boundary change began with the region demands including Lukut which was voiced by Dato' Kelana Sending of Sungei Ujong in 1862. The claim received a response from Sultan Abdul Samad by handing over Lukut to Sungei Ujong through a letter, but did not get consent from several parties including Raja Jumaat. This situation continued until finally decided Lukut to be included in the Sungei Ujong border in 1880 officially. The British bounded Lukut under Sungei Ujong's rule so that it can be controlled and monitored by British which was previously an independent territory. Apart from that, the British action was also aimed at facilitating the demarcation process and administration of the two states due to the position of Lukut which is close to Sungei Ujong.
