Aim: To compare anterior and posterior standing balance reactions, as measured by single-stepping thresholds, in children with and without spastic cerebral palsy (CP).Method: Seventeen ambulatory children with spastic CP (eight males, nine females) and 28 typically developing children (13 males, 15 females; age range 5-12y, mean [SD] 9y 2mo [2y 3mo]), were included in this cross-sectional, observational study. Balance reaction skill was quantified as anterior and posterior single-stepping thresholds, or the treadmill-induced perturbations that consistently elicited a step in that direction. In order to understand the underlying mechanisms of between-group differences in stepping thresholds, dynamic stability was quantified using the minimum margin of stability. Ankle muscle activation latency, magnitude, and co-contraction were assessed with surface electromyography.Results: We observed an age and group interaction for anterior thresholds (p=0.001, partial η2 =0.24). At older (≈11y; p<0.001, partial η2 =0.48), but not younger (≈7y; p=0.33, partial η2 =0.02) ages, typically developing children had larger anterior thresholds than those with CP. In response to near-threshold anterior perturbations, older typically developing children recovered from more instability than their peers with CP (p=0.004, partial η2 =0.18). Older children had no between-group differences in ankle muscle activity. No between-group differences were observed in posterior thresholds.Interpretation: The effects of CP on balance reactions are age- and direction-specific. Aim: To describe the long-term outcomes of children by the time they reached school age with vein of Galen aneurysmal malformation (VGAM).Method: This was a retrospective observational study on a consecutive cohort of patients with VGAM. We included patients with at least one Francophone parent, aged between 6 and 11 years at the time of long-term evaluation. The neurological outcome was assessed with the King's Outcome Scale for Childhood Injury score and eight neurological and behavioural items from the Rivermead Postconcussion Symptoms questionnaire.Results: All 52 patients (17 females, 32 males [data missing for n=3]) with at least one Francophone parent (5 fetuses and 47 children) were included. At the long-term evaluation time-point, 33 patients were alive and 19 patients had died. Risk of postnatal death was associated with severe neonatal cardiac failure (p=0.007) or isosystemic or suprasystemic pulmonary hypertension (p=0.014). Among survivors, 19 had a good outcome with normal schooling and 14 had a poor outcome. Moreover, among the good outcome patients, a large proportion had neurodevelopmental alterations.Interpretation: Long-term outcome of patients with VGAM appears to be less favourable than outcome described at the short- and medium-term, even in the absence of encephalomalacia at birth. Aim: To critically analyse the management of status dystonicus and prestatus dystonicus in children and adolescents, in order to examine clinical features, acute management, and risk of relapse in a paediatric cohort.Method: Clinical, demographic, and therapeutic features were analysed according to disease severity. Risk of subsequent relapse was estimated through Kaplan-Meier curves.Results: Thirty-four patients (eight females, 26 males) experiencing 63 episodes of acute dystonia exacerbations at a tertiary referral Italian hospital were identified. Mean age at status dystonicus presentation was 9 years 11 months (11y at inclusion in the study). Onset of dystonia dated back to infancy in most cases. Fourteen patients experienced two or more episodes. Infections were the most common trigger (48%). Benzodiazepines were the most commonly used drugs for acute management. Stereotactic pallidotomy was performed in six cases during status dystonicus, and in two additional patients it was electively performed after medical management. The probability of survival free from status dystonicus relapses was 78% after 4 months and 61% after 27 months.Interpretation: Dystonia exacerbations are potentially life-threating emergencies, with a considerable risk of relapse. Nevertheless, no obvious factors for relapse risk stratification exist. Pallidotomy is a feasible option in medical refractory status dystonicus for patients with limited deep brain stimulation applicability, but the risk of recurrence is elevated.What This Paper Adds: Acute exacerbations may affect up to 10% of children with dystonia. Aim: To assess the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure's (COPM) ability to document change over 3 years in children with cerebral palsy (CP).Method: This was a prospective study with ambulatory children with CP, aged 2 to 6 years. Caregivers set one to three COPM goals which were rescored annually over 3 years. A ceiling effect for performance goals was operationalized as a score of 8. A Wald χ2 generalized estimating equations model adjusted for age, sex, and Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) level, evaluated change over time.Results: In total, 124 children (47 [37.9%] females, 77 [62.1%] males; mean age 3y 11mo [SD 1y 1mo]; GMFCS level I [n=78, 62.9%], II [n=21, 16.9%], and III [n=25, 20.2%]) were set 345 COPM goals at baseline. By Year 3, 106 participants (85.5%) rescored 287 of the goals (83.2%). Performance scores increased between baseline mean (SD) 2.93 (0.56), Year 1 5.98 (0.58) with 34.8% at ceiling; Year 2 6.74 (0.60) 48.3% at ceiling; and Year 3 7.37 (0.60) 59.6% at ceiling (Wald χ2 [3]=607.18, p<0.001). Satisfaction scores increased between baseline 4.42 (0.59), Year 1 6.82 (0.60) with 48% at ceiling; Year 2 7.53 (0.60) with 62.2% at ceiling (Wald χ2 [3]=208.48, p<0.001); with no significant increase by Year 3 7.82 (0.62) with 66.9% at ceiling.Interpretation: COPM performance scores increased steadily over 3 years. By Year 2, a ceiling effect was seen in about half of the goals. Aim: This study sought to: (1) determine what is known about age at referral for diagnosis and rehabilitation services for children suspected of having cerebral palsy (CP); and (2) identify factors associated with earlier referral.Method: A scoping review was conducted to summarize existing literature. We systematically searched Allied and Complementary Medicine, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, Embase, and PsycINFO for evidence published between 1979 and 2017 on age at referral for diagnosis or age at referral to rehabilitation services for children suspected of having CP. Quantitative and thematic analyses of the literature were performed.Results: Our search yielded 777 articles, of which 15 met the inclusion criteria. Only one study focused on age at referral for diagnosis of CP (mean 16.6mo±19.2mo), with two on age at referral to rehabilitation services (means 13.9mo±15.8mo and 12.4mo). Potential predictors of earlier referral identified include referral source, type of CP, and a complicated birth history.Interpretation: Evidence is sparse; however, available studies suggest high variation in the age at which children are being referred for diagnosis, typically ranging from 10 months to 21 months. Evidence indicates that subgroups of children with CP might be experiencing prolonged delays. Aim: To quantify, in individuals with Rett syndrome with the capacity to walk, walking-based activity and sedentary time, and to analyse the influences of age, walking ability, scoliosis, and the severity of epilepsy.Method: Sixty-four participants with a mean age of 17 years and 7 months (standard deviation [SD] 9y) were recruited from the Australian Rett Syndrome Database for this cross-sectional study. Each participant wore a StepWatch Activity Monitor for at least 4 days. Linear regression models were used to assess relationships between daily step count and the proportion of waking hours spent in sedentary time with the covariates of age group, walking ability, presence of scoliosis, and frequency of seizures.Results: On average, 62% (SD 19%) of waking hours were sedentary and 20% (SD 8%) was at cadences lower than or equal to 20 steps in a minute. The median daily steps count was 5093 (interquartile range 2026-8602). Compared with females younger than 13 years of age and accounting for the effects of covariates, adults took fewer steps, and both adolescents and adults had more sedentary time.Interpretation: Adolescents and adults led the least active lives and would appear to be in particular need of interventions aiming to optimize slow walking-based physical activity and reduce sedentary time. Aim: This cross-sectional study aimed to map the functional profile of individuals with dyskinetic cerebral palsy (CP), to determine interrelationships between the functional classification systems, and to investigate the relationship of functional abilities with dystonia and choreoathetosis severity.Methods: Fifty-five children (<15y) and young people (15-22y) (30 males, 25 females; mean age 14y 6mo, standard deviation 4y 1mo) with dyskinetic CP were assessed using the Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS), Manual Ability Classification System (MACS), Communication Function Classification System (CFCS), Eating and Drinking Ability Classification System (EDACS), and Viking Speech Scale (VSS), as well as the Dyskinesia Impairment Scale.Results: Over 50 per cent of the participants exhibited the highest limitation levels in GMFCS, MACS, and VSS. Better functional abilities were seen in EDACS and CFCS. Moderate to excellent interrelationship was found among the classification scales. All scales had significant correlation (rs =0.65 - 0.81) with dystonia severity except for CFCS in the young people group. Finally, only MACS (rs =0.40) and EDACS (rs =0.55) in the young people group demonstrated significant correlation with choreoathetosis severity.Interpretation: The need for inclusion of speech, eating, and drinking in the functional assessment of dyskinetic CP is highlighted. Aim: ABILHAND-Kids is a parent-reported questionnaire measuring manual ability in children with cerebral palsy (CP). Its psychometric properties have been established, with the exception of responsiveness, which is examined here.Method: In this cohort study, 98 children (46 males, 52 females; range 6-19y, mean 11y, standard deviation [SD] 3.3y) with unilateral CP underwent three assessments of upper extremity function: at baseline (T1); after 80 to 90 hours of intensive training (T2); and at follow-up (T3). The responsiveness was analyzed using global, group (based on age and on Manual Ability Classification System [MACS] level), and individual approaches during two time periods (T1-T2 and T2-T3). Effect size was used to quantify magnitude of changes.Results: The global approach showed significant improvements between T1 and T2 (p<0.001) but not between T2 and T3 (p=0.222). In the group analyses, effect size and SRM demonstrated large changes in younger children (6-12y, n=52, mean change=1.06 logit, effect size >0.8) and small changes in the older children (13-19y, n=46, mean change=0.71 logit, effect size >0.4). Children in MACS level II demonstrated larger changes than children in MACS level I or III.Interpretation: The ABILHAND-Kids exhibited responsiveness in detecting changes after intensive training. Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the reliability of the Thai Gross Motor Function Classification System Family Report Questionnaire (GMFCS-FR) and the possibility of special-education teachers and caregivers in the community using this system in children with cerebral palsy (CP).Method: The reliability was examined by two teachers and two caregivers who classified 21 children with CP aged 2 to 12 years. A GMFCS-FR workshop was organized for raters. The teachers and caregivers classified the mobility of 362 children. The rater reliability was analysed using the weighted kappa coefficient. The possibility of using the GMFCS-FR is reported. The reliability of using the GMFCS-FR in the community was analysed by the intraclass correlation coefficient.Results: The intrarater reliability ranged from 0.91 to 1.00. The interrater reliability between teachers was 0.85 (95% confidence interval [CI] 0.69-0.97) and between caregivers was 0.84 (95% CI 0.70-0.97). Ninety-seven percent of raters used the Thai GMFCS-FR correctly. The overall intraclass correlation coefficient between raters was 0.90 (95% CI 0.88-0.92).Interpretation: The Thai GMFCS-FR is a reliable system for classifying the motor function of young children with CP by teachers and caregivers in the community. Aim: Limited information exists on the ability of children with cerebral palsy (CP) to ride a two-wheel bicycle, an activity that may improve health and participation. We aimed to describe bicycle-riding ability and variables associated with ability to ride in children with CP (Gross Motor Functional Classification System [GMFCS] levels I-II) compared with children with typical development.Method: This case-control study surveyed parents of 114 children with CP and 87 children with typical development aged 6 to 15 years (115 males, mean age 9y 11mo, standard deviation [SD] 2y 10mo). Kaplan-Meier methods were used to compare proportions able to ride at any given age between the two groups. Logistic regression was used to assess variables associated with ability to ride for children with CP and typical development separately.Results: The proportion of children with CP able to ride at each level of bicycle-riding ability was substantially lower at each age than peers with typical development (p<0.001). While most children with typical development were able to ride independently by 10 years of age, 51% of children with CP classified as GMFCS level I and 3% of those classified as GMFCS level II had obtained independent riding in the community by 15 years of age. Variables associated with ability to ride for children classified as GMFCS level I were age and parent-rated importance of their child being able to ride.Interpretation: Some independently ambulant children with CP can learn to ride a bicycle, in particular if they are classified as GMFCS level I. Aim: To develop a national consensus on outcome measures that define functional ability in children with cerebral palsy (CP) according to the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) framework.Method: The project started in 2008 in neuropaediatric units of two university hospitals and one outpatient clinic. Each professional group selected representatives to be knowledge brokers for their own specialty. Based on the evidence, expert opinion, and the ICF framework, multiprofessional teams selected the most valid measures used in clinical practice (2009-2010). Data from 269 children with CP were analysed, classified by the Gross Motor Function Classification System, Manual Ability Classification System, and Communication Function Classification System, and evaluated.Results: The process aimed at improving and unifying clinical practice in Finland through a national consensus on the core set of measures. The selected measures were presented by professional groups, and consensus was reached on the recommended core set of measures to be used in all hospitals treating children with CP in Finland.Interpretation: A national consensus on relevant and feasible measures is essential for identifying differences in the effectiveness of local practices, and for conducting multisite intervention studies. Aim: To evaluate the contribution of somatosensory evoked potentials after median nerve (MN-SEPs) and posterior tibial nerve (PTN-SEPs) stimulation in functional assessment of cervical and lumbar spinal stenosis in children with achondroplasia.Method: We reviewed MN-SEPs, PTN-SEPs, and spinal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations performed in 58 patients with achondroplasia (25 males, 33 females; age range 21d-16y 10mo; mean age 4y 3mo [SD 4y 1mo]). Patients were subdivided into four age categories: <2 years, between 2 to 4 years, between 4 to 8 years, and ≥8 years. The peak latency of P37 for PTN-SEPs, the peak latencies of N11, N13, P14, and N20, and the N13-N20 interpeak latency (IPL) for MN-SEPs were collected; the diagnostic accuracy measures of these parameters (analysis of receiver operating characteristic [ROC] curves) with respect to the presence of foramen magnum or lumbar spinal stenosis were analysed in each age category.Results: The ROC curve analysis showed that the most sensitive parameter in detecting the presence of foramen magnum stenosis was P37 latency in the first two age categories (<2y and ≥2-4y; sensitivity 0.63, specificity 1.00, and sensitivity 1.00, specificity 0.75 respectively). In the third age category (≥4-8y), the most sensitive parameter in detecting the presence of foramen magnum stenosis was IPLs N13-N20 (sensitivity 0.73, specificity 0.87), whereas in the last age category (≥8y), the most important parameter was N20 latency (sensitivity 0.75, specificity 0.77).Interpretation: In children with achondroplasia, the cortical component of PTN-SEPs is more sensitive than the cortical component and central conduction time of MN-SEPs in detection of cervical spinal cord compression at early ages. Aim: To develop the Mini-Manual Ability Classification System (Mini-MACS) and to evaluate the extent to which its ratings are valid and reliable when children younger than 4 years are rated by their parents and therapists.Method: The Mini-MACS was created by making adjustments to the MACS. The development involved a pilot project, consensus discussions within an expert group, and the creation of a test version of the Mini-MACS that was evaluated for content validity and interrater reliability. A convenience sample of 61 children with signs of cerebral palsy aged 12 to 51 months (mean age 30.2mo [SD 10.1]) were classified by one parent and two occupational therapists across a total of 64 assessments. Agreement between the parents' and therapists' ratings was evaluated using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and the percentage of agreement.Results: The first sentence of the five levels in the MACS was kept, but other descriptions within the Mini-MACS were adjusted to be more relevant for the younger age group. The ICC between parents and therapists was 0.90 (95% confidence interval [CI] 0.79-0.92), and for the two therapists it was 0.97 (95% CI 0.78-0.92). Most parents and therapists found the descriptions in the Mini-MACS suitable and easy to understand.Interpretation: The Mini-MACS seems applicable for children from 1 to 4 years of age. Aim: To examine the impact of age, surgery, and Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) level on the prevalence of gait problems in children with cerebral palsy (CP).Method: Gait analysis records were retrospectively reviewed for ambulatory patients with CP. Gait abnormalities were identified using physical exam and kinematic data. Relationships among age, sex, previous surgery, GMFCS level, and prevalence of gait abnormalities associated with crouch and out-toeing, and equinus and in-toeing were assessed using univariable and multivariable logistic regression.Results: One-thousand and five records were reviewed. The most common gait problems were in-toeing, excessive knee flexion, stiff knee, hip flexion, internal rotation, adduction, and equinus (all >50%). Odds ratios (OR) for various gait problems associated with crouch and out-toeing increased (OR 1.07-1.32), and those associated with equinus and in-toeing decreased (OR 0.80-0.94) significantly with increasing age for patients in GMFCS levels I to III. The same trends were seen with prior surgery (OR for crouch and out-toeing: 1.86-7.14; OR for equinus and in-toeing: 0.16-0.59).Interpretation: The prevalence of gait abnormalities varies by GMFCS level, but similarities exist among levels. The study results suggest that in younger children, particularly those in GMFCS levels III and IV, treatments for equinus and in-toeing should be undertaken with caution because these problems tend to decrease with age even without orthopedic intervention. Aim: The aim of the study was to investigate the risk of stroke in patients with cerebral palsy (CP), based on nationwide data in Taiwan.Method: This prospective cohort study was comprised of patients recorded on the Taiwan Longitudinal Health Insurance Database 2005 (LHID2005) who had a diagnosis of CP (n=1975) in records between 1 January 2004 and 31 December 2007. A comparison group (1:5) drawn from the same database was matched for age and sex (n=9875). Each patient was tracked by data until the development of stroke or the end of 2008. Cox proportional-hazards regression analysis was used to evaluate the hazard ratios after adjusting for potential confounding factors.Results: Patients with CP were more likely to suffer stroke than the comparison population, after adjusting for potential confounding factors (adjusted hazard ratio: 2.17; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.74-2.69). The hazard ratio of stroke was 4.78 (95% CI: 3.18-7.17) and 1.57 (95% CI: 1.20-2.05) for patients with CP aged 50 years and under, and over 50 years respectively.Interpretation: Cerebral palsy is a risk factor or marker for stroke that is independent of traditional stroke risk factors. Aim: To determine epilepsy risk factors after pediatric stroke.Method: A cohort of children with arterial ischemic stroke (birth-18y) was enrolled at 21 centers and followed for 1 year. Acute seizures (≤7d after stroke) and active epilepsy (at least one unprovoked remote seizure plus maintenance anticonvulsant at 1y) were identified. Predictors were determined using logistic regression.Results: Among 114 patients (28 neonates and 86 children) enrolled, 26 neonates (93%) and 32 children (37%) had an acute seizure. Acute seizures lasted longer than 5 minutes in 23 patients (40%) and were frequently recurrent: 33 (57%) had 2 to 10 seizures and 11 (19%) had more than 10. Among 109 patients with 1-year follow-up, 11 (10%) had active epilepsy. For each year younger, active epilepsy was 20% more likely (odds ratio [OR] 0.8, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.6-0.99, p=0.041). Prolonged or recurrent acute seizures also increased epilepsy risk. Each additional 10 minutes of the longest acute seizure increased epilepsy risk fivefold (OR 4.7, 95% CI 1.7-13). Patients with more than 10 acute seizures had a 30-fold increased epilepsy risk (OR 30, 95% CI 2.9-305).Interpretation: Pediatric stroke survivors, especially younger children, have a high risk of epilepsy 1 year after stroke. Aim: Children with quadriplegic cerebral palsy (CP) have been found to have growth rates that differ from those of children with typical development. Little research has been performed to distinguish whether growth patterns in hemiplegic, diplegic, and quadriplegic CP differ from one another. The purpose of this study was to compare growth of children with quadriplegic, hemiplegic, and diplegic CP.Method: Retrospective data were collected from the electronic medical record of patients with CP at an outpatient center. Linear mixed models were used to examine growth by diagnosis, using International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision (ICD-9) diagnosis codes 343.0 (diplegia), 343.1 (hemiplegia), and 343.2 (quadriplegia).Results: Heights and weights of children with quadriplegic CP were consistently lower than those with hemiplegic or diplegic CP. Children with hemiplegic CP had greater heights and weights than other CP subtypes. There were statistically significant differences in weight gain curves among the three diagnoses for males (p<0.05).Interpretation: Our study reveals differences in growth rates between hemiplegic, diplegic, and quadriplegic CP subtypes. Aim: To determine the association between gross motor function and nutritional status in children with cerebral palsy (CP) residing in an urban area in a developing country.Method: We conducted a cross-sectional study in 177 children (ages 2-12y, 59.3% male) with a diagnosis of CP who were attending rehabilitation centres in Bucaramanga, Colombia (2012-2013). A physiotherapist evaluated patients using the Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS, levels I to V). Nutritional status was evaluated by nutritionists and classified according to the World Health Organization growth charts. We used linear and multinomial logistic regression methods to determine the associations.Results: There were 39.5%, 6.8%, 5.6%, 16.4%, and 31.6% patients classified in levels I to V respectively. The mean adjusted differences for weight-for-age, height-for-age, BMI-for-age, and height-for-weight z-scores were significantly larger for children classified in levels II to V compared with those in level I. The children classified in levels IV and V were more likely to have malnutrition (adjusted odds ratio [OR] 5.64; 95% confidence interval [CI] 2.27-14.0) and stunting (OR 8.42; 95% CI 2.90-24.4) than those classified in GMFCS levels I to III.Interpretation: Stunting and malnutrition are prevalent conditions among paediatric patients with CP, and both are directly associated with higher levels of gross motor dysfunction. Aim: The aim of this study was to examine the effects of home and educational environments on children's motor performance in China.Method: We conducted a cross-sectional study of 4001 preschool children selected from 160 classes. The children's motor performance was assessed using the Movement Assessment Battery for Children, 2nd edition (MABC-2). Home and educational environments were evaluated using validated checklists. The effects of home and educational environments on motor performance were analysed using mixed and multilevel logistic regression models.Results: The results showed that one score increase in the outside space of the family home was positively associated with the increase in total test score (0.104) subtest score of aiming and catching (0.037), and balance (0.034) of the MABC-2, after adjusting for potential confounders (each p<0.05). Possession of motor toys at home and parental rearing behaviours were also related to total test score, manual dexterity, and balance (β=0.022-0.104, each p<0.05). Space and furnishings, activity, and interaction in the classroom had a significant positive association with total test score (β=0.069-0.201), and with subtest scores of manual dexterity, aiming and catching, and balance respectively (β=0.115-0.206). Space and furnishings of classrooms and possession of toys in the household were protective factors for 'at risk' or significant poor performance (odds ratio 0.942-0.973, each p<0.05).Interpretation: A permissive and accepting family and educational environment made a positive contribution to children's motor performance. Access to sufficient space and furnishings within the classroom, as well as toys in the family, were protective factors for poor motor performance. Aim: We examined whether children of mothers with a medical condition diagnosed before or during pregnancy took longer to achieve gross motor milestones up to age 24 months.Method: We obtained information on medical conditions using self-reports, birth certificates, and hospital records in 4909 mothers participating in Upstate KIDS, a population-based birth cohort. Mothers reported on their children's motor milestone achievement at 4, 8, 12, 18, and 24 months of age.Results: After adjustment for covariates (including pre-pregnancy body mass index), children of mothers with gestational diabetes took longer to achieve sitting without support (hazard ratio [HR]=0.84, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.75-0.93), walking with assistance (HR=0.88, 95% CI 0.77-0.98), and walking alone (HR=0.88, 95% CI 0.77-0.99) than children of females with no gestational diabetes. Similar findings emerged for maternal diabetes. Gestational hypertension was associated with a longer time to achieve walking with assistance. These associations did not change after adjustment for gestational age or birthweight. Severe hypertensive disorders of pregnancy were related to a longer time to achieve milestones, but not after adjustment for perinatal factors.Interpretation: Children exposed to maternal diabetes, gestational or pre-gestational, may take longer to achieve motor milestones than non-exposed children, independent of maternal obesity. Aim: To measure the adherence to antiepileptic drugs (AED) in a population cohort of children with epilepsy and to study the relationship between adherence and a series of clinical variables.Method: A population-based study of children (<16y) with epilepsy on AED treatment from the Tayside region of Scotland during two epochs of 12 months each. A clinical database was constructed using hospital records and linked to a community dispensing pharmacy database to calculate an Adherence Index. The principal outcome measure was the measurement of population-based adherence to AEDs. Secondary outcome measures were the association of adherence with the clinical characteristics of the population.Results: The median age of study group was 10 years and the median duration of epilepsy was 4 years. Only 30.9% of the total 320 children adhered to recommended AED treatment (Adherence Index >90%) across a year of treatment. Twenty-five percent of children had an Adherence Index of less than 50%. Adherence declined with increasing age. There was no significant correlation between adherence and other clinical characteristics studied (sex, duration of epilepsy, other comorbid health problems, other regular medications, and seizure frequency).Interpretation: Our data shows adherence to AED treatment is poor in children with epilepsy.
