Abstract

Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) is a chronically relapsing intraepidermal immunobullous dermatosis characterized by the presence of painful oral lesions and flaccid blisters in a seborrheic distribution (Zakka, Shetty, & Ahmed, [7]). The scalp lesions of PV can be particularly recalcitrant to treatment, probably due to the presence of abundant desmogleins 1,3 and their pathogenetic antibodies within the hair follicles (Sar-Pomian, Rudnicka, & Olszewska, [4]).
