Juvenile polyposis syndrome is a condition distinguished by numerous hyperproliferative polyps that can affect the entire gastrointestinal tract, though they are uncommon in the stomach. We report a rare case of a 70-year-old woman with a three-year history of epigastric pain and severe bloating who was referred to our department for gastric outlet obstruction due to massive gastric juvenile polyps also causing gastroparesis. Prostatosymphyseal fistula (PSF) is a very rare complication described after transurethral surgery of the prostate including photoselective vaporization of the prostate (PVP) with GreenLight ΤΜ laser (Boston Scientific, Marlborough, MA). Sporadic cases have also been reported in the literature as side effects of pelvic radiation therapy. We present a 65-year-old male patient who underwent PVP as an elective procedure for the treatment of severe lower urinary tract symptoms. The primary management after the diagnosis of the fistula was conservative but as this did not result in an expected improvement, the patient underwent radical prostatectomy as a last resort. PSF formation is the result of the communication between the anterior capsule of the prostate and the bladder neck via pubic symphysis and the surrounding tissues. This condition often leads to either urinoma formation or osteitis pubis. In the majority of cases, treatment options are complex surgical reconstruction using flaps or grafts, radical prostatectomy or urinary diversion as an ultimate solution. The distal oblique bundle of the forearm is a structure that has been under vigorous investigation for the past decade. It is part of the distal interosseous membrane (DIOM) and seems to have an important stabilizing effect in the distal radioulnar joint. In this essay, we have tried to summarize the anatomical characteristics of the structure. We have also compared and contrasted this to our own experience with eight freshly frozen forearms. It is our strong belief that the distal oblique bundle (DOB) may play a keystone role in future stabilization techniques of the distal radioulnar joint, and its anatomy characteristics need to be fully investigated., Competing Interests: The authors have declared that no competing interests exist.
