Migraine is a primary headache and a complicated neurological disorder with sensory and autonomic abnormalities. Many variables, including genetic and psychological ones, contribute to migraine onset and development. Anxiety and depression are typical psychiatric comorbidities among migraineurs. This kind of comorbidity increased migraine chronicity, treatment effectiveness, and the likelihood of additional comorbidities. The purpose of this research was to determine the prevalence of depression among Saudi migraine sufferers in AlAhsa. Descriptive cross-sectional research of 101 migraine patients at King Fahd Hospital-Hofuf, AlAhsa, Saudi Arabia from May to December 2021. Depression was assessed by Patient Health Questionnaire which is a reliable tool (PHQ-9). The PHQ-9 measures the presence and severity of depression. Consider sociodemographic, clinical, and individual variations that impact migraine development and prognosis. Results: The inclusion criteria were satisfied by 94 migraine patients in total, with a mean age of 36.9 ± 9 years and they are predominantly females 75.5%. The majority of the participants (76.6%) were on medication to relieve migraine attacks and only 13.9% reported that75% of attacks were relieved by medication. Almost all of the patients (96.8%) used to drink coffee and tea. The prevalence of depression and migraine was revealed to be 42.6% mild and 8.5% severe among the participants. Four statistically significant correlations (p0.05) were young age, being female, low level of education at higher risk to have depression compared to another group of migraineurs. A neurological disorder that commonly causes disability is migraine. Numerous studies have shown that mood disorders and migraines are often co-occurring, and these individuals are more likely to have a migraine-related disability. This research has shown that it is beneficial to prevent psychiatric comorbidity by using PHQ-9 as a regular screening tool for migraine patients.

Peritoneal dialysis (PD)-associated peritonitis is the most common cause of morbidity, mortality, and treatment failure in patients on PD. Brucellosis is a worldwide zoonotic infectious disease caused by gram-negative bacteria of the genus Brucella. It is a major public issue in some regions. According to the World Health Organization report in 2011, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is considered endemic for brucellosis. Brucella peritonitis is one of the rarest presentations of Brucella. We report a case of a 14-year-old girl known to have end-stage renal disease, secondary to the autosomal recessive polycystic kidney. She had congenital hepatic fibrosis and pancytopenia. She had been undergoing automated PD for the past seven years and presented with abdominal pain, seizure, and poor feeding. There was no history of ingestion of unpasteurized milk or contact with raw infected animal products. The color of PD fluid was turbid with leukocytosis, predominantly neutrophils. The peritoneal fluid culture was positive for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. The patient was started on intraperitoneal vancomycin, which showed slow improvement. The second culture of the peritoneal fluid showed Brucella species after a few days. Blood culture and serum serology titer for Brucella showed negative results. An anti-Brucella regimen, including rifampin and doxycycline, was initiated. She was treated with this regimen for six weeks. After the initiation of the anti-Brucella regimen, she showed marked improvement. To the best of our knowledge, only a small number of cases of Brucella peritonitis in PD patients have been reported. Despite the rarity of Brucella as a peritonitis-causing organism, it should be considered as a relevant pathogen in peritonitis cases, especially in endemic regions. PD-associated Brucella peritonitis is rare, and PD catheter saving may be considered if there is a response to anti-Brucella treatment.

Uterine tumors resembling sex-cord tumors are a rare group of tumors with uncertain etiology and histogenesis. The sex-cord tumors are classified into two groups. The first group includes endometrial stromal tumors with foci of sex cord differentiation less than 50% while the second group is composed predominantly or exclusively by sex cord-like elements. We report the case of a middle-aged woman who presented with heavy vaginal bleeding with initial ultrasound findings suggestive of uterine leiomyoma. There was no improvement noticed after a trial of medical treatment; hence, the surgical treatment in the form of total abdominal hysterectomy was undertaken. A few weeks after the surgery, the patient presented with unexplained abdominal pain. Imaging studies demonstrated a hypermetabolic lesion in the upper part of the vagina that was suspicious for malignancy. Complete resection of the mass was performed along with para-aortic lymphadenopathy. Histopathological examination revealed a uterine tumor resembling a sex-cord tumor. Uterine tumors resembling sex-cord tumors are a unique group of uterine neoplasms that exhibits diverge clinical and biological characteristic. Surgical pathologists must recognize this rare entity and differentiate it from other lesions.
