Abstract

This article previews the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers' 2006 Conference on Emerging Technologies in Tampa, Florida. The society's goal is to talk about the future. The closing session on Thursday speaks to the rising prominence of wireless technologies. The event opens with a lecture by Jim Carroll.

Abstract

The article presents several announcements from the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE). The pre-registration deadline for saving time and money for SCTE Conference on Emerging Technologies 2007 is on January 5, 2007. The SCTE Conference on Broadband Learning & Development 2007 is set for June 19, 2007 in Orlando, Florida. Applications for the next $20,000 Milton Jerrold Shapp Memorial Scholarship are due February 1, 2007.
