We summarise all known data on the liverwort Mannia triandra (Scop.) Grolle in Montenegro. This species was previously only known from literature. During our fieldwork between 2016 and 2022, we were able to detect it in seven parts of the country at 18 localities. It occurs mainly in the southwestern part of the country, at altitudes between 40 and 1720 m above sea level, mainly in small caves or crevices in north, north-east and east exposure. These are mostly small populations with only a few individuals. Due to this increase in recent occurrences, Montenegro has a great responsibility for the conservation of this rare species, which is protected and endangered throughout Europe. However, following the IUCN criteria, we estimate that Mannia triandra should be considered endangered (VU) in Montenegro, too. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Epipterygium atlanticum Hanusch is a recently described species based on plants occurring mainly in Macaronesia, with one collection from Scotland. Against this background, we studied 144 specimens of E. tozeri s.l. in LISU herbarium from mainland Portugal, including recent field collections, and 70 were referable to E. atlanticum. The length and width of mid-leaf laminal cells of lateral leaves were the most important morphological characters for the delimitation of the two European species. Epipterygium atlanticum is a widely distributed taxon throughout the Portuguese territory, becoming more frequent in Atlantic zones and in the Algarve. In this study, three deadwood-dependent liverwort species (Calypogeia suecica (Arnell & J.Perss.) Müll. Frib., Crossocalyx hellerianus (Nees ex Lindenb.) Meyl. and Scapania apiculata Spruce) are reported upon from forests of North-western Anatolia for the first time for Turkey and Southwest Asia. The results concluded an increasing number of Scapania species to 17, Calypogeia species to six for these areas. Also, Crossocalyx is a new genus record for Turkey and Southwest Asia. All three new records are approximately at the southernmost limit of these species' distribution of Western Asia; also records of C. hellerianus and S. apiculata are at the southern limit of their Mediterranean distribution. Morphological descriptions, microphotographs, ecological aspects, distinctive taxonomical features, and Turkish conservation suggestions of the new records are presented. In addition, some remarkable deadwood-dependent bryophyte species (Buxbaumia viridis (Moug. ex Lam. & DC.) Brid. ex Moug. & Nestl., Fuscocephaloziopsis lunulifolia (Dumort.) La découverte d' Oreoweisia torquescens (Hornsch. ex Brid.) Wijk & Margad., de Polytrichum pallidisetum Funck, de Scapania apiculata Spruce et de Scopelophila ligulata (Spruce) Spruce dans le massif de la Vanoise est présentée. Celle d' Oreoweisia torquescens confirme sa présence en France. Les affinités écologiques et les nouvelles localités sont brièvement décrites. Leurs répartitions sont discutées. Riccia sommieri Levier is reported for the first time in Corsica, France. The ecology of the species in Corsica is described. Several morphological characters are deeply examined and critically evaluated based on the analysis of the material collected in the new Corsican localities and 24 additional herbarium specimens from various origins. As a result, ventral strips called 'bandelettes' in Jovet-Ast's publications are referred to remnants of ventral scales. The hypodermis of Riccia sommieri is unique in the genus Riccia. This might support a phylogenetically and taxonomically isolated position of the species. Riccia sommieri Levier est signalé pour la première fois en Corse, France. L'écologie de l'espèce en Corse est décrite. Plusieurs critères morphologiques sont examinés en détail et évalués de manière critique sur la base du matériel collecté dans les deux nouvelles localités corses et de 24 spécimens d'herbier d'origines variées. Les bandelettes ventrales, nommées comme telles dans les travaux de Jovet-Ast, représentent en fait les résidus des écailles ventrales. A list of eight species belonging to Marchantiophyta (Ricciaceae) and ten species to Anthocerotophyta (Anthocerotaceae, Dendrocerotaceae, Notothyladaceae and Phymatocerotaceae) collected in several provinces of Argentina is presented. Five species are new records for the Argentinian bryophyte flora: Riccia limicola, R. weinionis, Anthoceros macounii, A. venosus and Phaeoceros microsporous. Riccia paranaensis and Ricciocarpos natans, collected in Corrientes are new reports from this province; Riccia lamellosa and R. squamata are new records from La Pampa, R. lindmanii from Misiones and Nothoceros endiviifolius from Salta. Four species are second national and provincial records: Riccia australis from Misiones, Phymathoceros bulbiculosus from Corrientes, Phaeomegaceros squamuliger from Neuquén, and Anthoceros lamellatus in Tucumán. Sciuro-hypnum sichuanicum Ignatov & Hedenäs, a rare species previously recorded in China, has been newly reported in the Japanese Alps. A description of the species based on Japanese samples, some ecological and conservational notes, as well as a comparison table among this species and some similar species of the same genus have also been provided. Tetrodontium ovatum (Funck) Schwägr. is recorded as new for the French bryoflora, based on a sample collected in the region of Haute-Savoie. Data on its autoecological features are provided.
