Based on four male specimens from Sagami Bay, we present a brief description of Paralebbeus zygius Chace, 1997. This is the second record of the species, which is new to the Japanese fauna. All of the specimens were obtained from small chambers in hexactinellid sponges collected more than a century ago. Morphological variations of some important characters are discussed.
