In this contribution we have compiled the papers published by Christoph D. Schubart, the species named by him and his coauthors, and the species named in his honour. At the date of compiling these lists, Christoph has published 205 papers, many with his students as first authors. More than 50 taxa, all decapod crustaceans, have been named by Christoph, and his colleagues have named more than 15 taxa in his honour. His career has been characterized by collaborations, and we expect these lists to grow during the coming years, when his colleagues continue to conclude the studies Christoph had initiated before his tragic death. Two parasitic copepods, Lateracanthus quadripedis Kabata & Gusev, 1966 and Parabrachiella annulata (Markevich, 1940) (Lernaeopodidae), were found on a deep-sea rudis rattail, Coryphaenoides rudi s Günther, 1878 (Macrouridae) collected from the Xingang fishing port in Chenggong Town, Taitung County, in south-eastern Taiwan. Lateracanthus quadripedis was found attached to the walls of the branchial cavity of the fish, whereas P. annulata was collected from the body surface. This paper also provides a full description of these two copepod species to elucidate possible geographical variations in their morphology. Remarkably, our specimens of both copepods are more similar to those from the Galápagos Islands than to those from the Aleutian-Deep or Japan. This paper describes a new species of sponge-inhabiting barnacle, Neoacasta liui sp. nov., collected in Fukuoka, Kyushu, Japan. In the present study we used both the morphological examination and DNA barcode (cytochrome c oxidase I gene) to distinguish this new species from acastine species including its congeners from Neoacasta Kolbasov, 1993. Neoacasta liui sp. nov. is similar to Neoacasta glans (Lamarck, 1818) in shell morphology, but the divergence in COI gene between them reached inter-specific differences. N. liui sp. nov. is characterized by externally latticed, narrow scutum, beak-shaped tergum with wider spur, and lack of six inwardly prominent teeth on margin of basis. N. glans having an Indo-West Pacific distribution may represent a complex of cryptic species. An old collection of brachyuran specimens from the Iraqi coast, collected in the last century, was examined. This resulted in four new records from the northwest Persian-Arabian Gulf that could be recognized: the podotreme Lauridromia dehaani (Rathbun, 1923), and the heterotremes Dorippoides nudipes Manning & Holthuis, 1986, Enoplolambrus carenatus (H. Milne Edwards, 1834), and Charybdis (Archias) longicollis Leene, 1938. Lauridromia dehaani is the first record of this species from the northwest of the Persian-Arabian Gulf (Iraq and Kuwait), the other species are widely distributed around the Gulf. The specimens were photographed and diagnosed, and the new records are reported in the present study. Nothobomolochua aigo sp. nov. is described based on two specimens of the female recovered from the bucco-branchial cavity of the mottled spinefoot, Siganus fuscescens (Houttuyn, 1782), captured by a fixed net at Kuki, Mie Prefecture. The fish was subsequently found in a vessel with formalin solution in which eight species of coastal actinopterygian fishes, including S. fuscescens , all captured by the same fixed net at Kuki, had been fixed and preserved together. The postantennal process and the lateral processes of this species are herein described for the first time for the genus. Orbitacolax kukiensis sp. nov. is described based on specimens of the female recovered from a solution of formalin in which eight species of coastal actinopterygian fishes had been fixed and preserved all together. These fishes had earlier been captured by means of a fixed net at Kuki, Mie Prefecture, Japan. In the present paper Indocandona nagarjuna sp. n. is described. It was collected from a bore-well in southeastern India. This is only the second representative of the genus and the third stygobiont ostracode species described from India. The new species has many clear morphological differences compared with the type species of the genus, the most important ones being a much reduced caudal ramus and extremely elongated fingers on the prehensile palps. The position of the new species in the genus, as well as that of the genus Indocandona Gupta, 1984 in the tribe Trapezicandonini and its adaptation to subterranean waters, are also discussed. Orbitacolax bispinus sp. nov., Orbitacolax leptoscari (Yamaguti, 1953), Paraorbitacolax sphyraenae Izawa, 2021, and one male specimen of a Bomolochidae sp. are (re)described. The male and copepodid V female of O. leptoscari , and the male and copepodid V male of P. sphyraenae are described for the first time for the respective species. A description performed in Izawa (2020, 2021) that the maxilliped of the female bears a dorsal process in Orbitacolax and Paraorbitacolax spp., was wrong and is herein corrected. The article presents a paper that contains a rebuttal to Sakai's invalid nominal species, Hemigrapus penicillatus, by Akira Asakura and Seiichi Watanabe. In 2005, Asakura and Watanabe described Hemigrapus takanoi as a sibling species of the most common Japanese grapsid crab, Hemigrapsus penicillatus, based on combined evidences of electrophoresis, morphology and ecology. However, in 2005 Sakai claimed that hemigrapsus takanoi and Hemigrapsus are conspecific because of the morphological similarity of pleopod 1. Asukura and Watanabe presented a rebuttal that contained factors such as genetic differences indicated by isozyme analysis and mitochondrial DNA analysis, pigmentation, size of setal patch in males, and minor morphological differences.

The article reports the first record and extension of the known distribution of the inland prawn, Macrobrachium Aracamuni Rodríguez, 1982 in Brazil, known also as decapoda, palaemonidae. This paper presents the record of the occurrence of the prawns on Brazilian territory and extending the known range of the species up to South America. Specifics used for the study are explained such as abbreviations, carapace length, and others. The species studied in this experiment were not previously recorded from Brazil. However, the series of specimens studied were collected from the upper Rio Negro drainage, State of Amazonas in Brazil.

The present paper reports on four species of pandalid shrimp from the Yellow Sea: Pandalus gracilis Stimpson, 1860, Pandalus prensor Stimpson, 1860, Plesionika izumiae Omori, 1971, and Procletes levicarina (Bate, 1888). Based on material collected during the mid- to late 1980s new distributional records for the anchialine shrimp, Caridina rubella Fujino & Shokita, 1975 are presented. Asides from the Ryukyus, Palawan and Sulawesi, the species is now also recorded from Tahiti, Niue, Tonga, Western Samoa, the Loyalty Islands, Solomon Islands, Bohol and Panglao. Attention is drawn to the considerable rostral variation in the species. Holotype designation is mandatory for animal species descriptions, yet we are lacking studies on its selection. Landmark-based geometric morphometrics (LBGM) can be used to detect subtle phenotypic variations and to calculate mean shapes of groups for certain characters, which should provide reliable tools for selecting holotypes that are most representative even of cryptic species. Western Australian copepods from the genus Halicyclops Norman, 1903 (Halicyclopidae) were studied here in a subterranean archipelago of calcretes by a combination of molecular phylogenetics (using mitochondrial COI and 12S markers) and LBGM, on the same specimens. Bayesian analyses of molecular markers resulted in five deeply divergent and congruent clades, supported with maximum posterior probabilities. ANOVA analysis of LBGM data showed that the effect of these clades was a much larger contributor to shape variation than the effects of locality or individual. Therefore, five new endemic species were described, employing a condensed format appropriate for cryptic species. All of them are destined for extinction due to approved uranium mining in the region. Four morphological structures used for LBGM analyses provided different degrees of phenotypic species separation in both sexes, and representative holotypes and allotypes for one structure were sometimes close to species' extremes of variability for another structure. The present study represents the first information on direct age determination based on band counts in the mesocardiac ossicle (gastric mill) and eyestalk, in Aristeus alcocki , Penaeus monodon , Penaeus indicus , Panulirus homarus , and Portunus sanguinolentus from India. The determination of growth bands is important in understanding the accurate age of a specimen for the effective management strategies for stock sustainability of the natural resource. Longitudinal sections of the eyestalk and meso-cardiac ossicle of the gastric mill were observed for growth band counts in all species except for P. homarus , where the growth bands were recorded only in the ossicle. Growth bands count five in females and four in males of A. alcocki , respectively. In the case of inshore prawns, two growth bands were observed in P. monodon and one growth band in P. indicus , five growth bands in P. homarus , and three in P. sanguinolentus. Résumé: Cette étude présente la première information sur la détermination directe de l'âge basée sur le nombre des stries de l'osselet méso-cardiaque (moulin gastrique) et des pédoncules oculaires, chez Aristeus alcocki , Penaeus monodon , Penaeus indicus , Panulirus homarus , et Portunus sanguinolentus d'Inde. Several specimens of the mud crab, Scylla cf. tranquebarica (Fabricius, 1798), were examined for the presence of stalked barnacles on the gills. Eighty-five percent of the crabs, for the size group 50 to 108 mm carapace width, were found infested with stalked barnacles. In all crabs, the barnacles were found attached to the inner (hypobranchial) surface of the gill with the exception of a single crab in which the barnacles were also found attached to the outer (epibranchial) surface of the gill. The stalked barnacles were identified as Octolasmis cor (Aurivillius, 1892) and O. angulata (Aurivillius, 1894), and our size-frequency data support the view that they are indeed distinct species. Their distribution on various parts of the gills, i.e., proximal, medial, or distal, was noted. Most of the barnacles were found attached to the medial part of the gill (O. cor 55%; O. angulata 57%), followed by the proximal part (O. cor 31%; O. angulata 38%), and the distal part (O. cor 14%; O. angulata 5%). Gill number 7 bore the maximum number of O. cor (33%) found, whereas gill number 4 harboured the maximum number of O. angulata (30.2%). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article presents a paper on the rediscovery of Rocinela murilloi (Isopoda, Aegidae) by Brusca and Iverson in 1985 at the Gulf of California, Mexico , and the ecological data associated with its capture. It offers background information on the status of the genus Rocinela Leach where nine species for the genus was reported, eight of which were previously known. It discusses the localities of a species Rocinela murilloi where found, particularly Gulf of California where a single female specimen was captured by the "Albatross" in 1891. It also includes a note report on a series of Rocinela murilloi specimens collected during the TALUD cruises in the southern Gulf of California. Taxonomic account and ecological data of Rocinela murilloi are also presented.

A new species of gecarcinucid crab, Barytelphusa choprai sp. nov., is described here from the Eastern Ghats in Andhra Pradesh state of India. The new species differs from all three congeners by its convex and trapezoidal carapace, pale white colouration, and by a distinct structure of the male gonopod G1. It differs from its congeners by genetic distance (p-distance) in the range of 5.7-13.6% in partial mtCOI gene sequence. The habitat at the type locality is a slow flowing shallow stream with rocky substratum, covered with silt and debris, and devoid of aquatic vegetation. A new species of Eusiridae, Eusirus liui sp. nov. is described from a hydrothermal vent on Okinawa Trough, North-West Pacific. The new species differs from the other 30 congeneric species mainly by the following combination of characters: the acute rostrum reaching to 1/3 the length of peduncular article 1 of antenna 1; the absence of eyes; pleonite 3 without acute protrusion on dorsal margin, and the posterior margin of epimeron 3 with 18 serrations. A key to all known Eusirus species is provided herein. This is the fourth species within the Eusiridae that has been found from vent fields. Nothobomolochus triceros (Bassett-Smith, 1898), based on specimens recovered from the original host Pampus argenteus (Euphrasen, 1788) in Japan, are redescribed, and the male, both sexes of copepodids V and IV, and sex undetermined copepodids III and II of the species are described for the first time. The maxilliped is sexually dimorphic only in the adult in Bomolochidae, on the other hand, the rostral plate, antennule, and legs 1, 4, and 5 are sexually dimorphic in Nothobomolochus throughout the adult and copepodids V-IV. Sex is as yet undetermined in copepodids III and II in the genus. The hymenosomatid crab Neorhynchoplax devroyi sp. nov. is described here from West Bengal in eastern India. The species is most similar to N. demeloi Kemp, 1917, described from Cochin in western India, but can easily be distinguished by its proportionately longer and more slender ambulatory legs, truncate cutting teeth on the chelipeds, relatively broader first pleonal somite and the distal part of the male first gonopod being stout and short. A new species of freshwater crab of the genus Teretamon Yeo & Ng, 2007, Teretamon husicum sp. nov., is described here from Husa Town, Longchuan County, Dehong Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China. Teretamon husicum sp. nov. can be distinguished from other species by a suite of morphological characters, including a bilobed frontal margin, smooth posterolateral regions, and a broadly rounded dorsal flap on the G1 terminal segment. An updated identification key for the species of the genus Teretamon is provided. As in the original description of Naricolax sphyraenae Izawa, 2020, copepodid IV female of the species was described based on a wrong judgement of the sex, the species is redescribed and both sexes of copepodid IV of the species are correctively described, while additionally copepodid V male of the species is described for the first time, based on specimens newly collected from the original host, Sphyraena pinguis Günther, 1874 (Pisces, Sphyraenidae) from Japan. Two new species of Thermosbaenacea are described from various locations in southern France. One species is Limnosbaena occidentalis n. sp., a species that has been known since 1967 and has long been awaiting a formal description, the other is Tethysbaena exigua n. sp., a very small species that represents a new species-group within the genus and has more morphological affinities with the Caribbean Tethysbaena sanctaecrucis species-group than with any other group. Furthermore, some considerations about the origin and ecology of these species are given. Three species distributed over the families of Halosbaenidae and Monodellidae are now known in France within a radius of 80 km around Marseille, one of which has also been identified in the alluvial aquifer of the Dordogne river.
