The importance of accreditation for the business schools as institutions of higher education and their academics programs is a frequently debated subject in academia. In fact, a few business schools in the world have achieved accreditations from different accreditations agencies because of their sustained and continued success as academic institutions. Therefore, this paper studies the role of accreditations in influencing the quality of academic programs and services provided by the business schools. This paper further analyzes the pros and cons of accreditations for the business schools and proposes several recommendations to the leaderships of the business schools in order to make the accreditation practice as a useful means to maintain and improve the overall quality of the business education.
