Abstract

The article examines the potential of the Internet as a global platform beyond states as a public sphere for critical discourse. It describes the concept of global civil society proposed by Nancy Fraser in her essay "Reframing Justice in a Globalizing World," which appeared in the "New Left Review" in 2005. Information is presented on Jürgen Habermas' notion of the public sphere. It relates the problems Fraser's call for democratization of the process of frame-setting in light of globalization and transnationalization of social injustices.
