Adenocarcinoma of the stomach represents upwards of 95% of all gastric malignancy. Calcifications in untreated gastric cancer are rare, but typically represent mucin-producing tumor. We report the radiology and pathology of a patient who presented with gastric wall calcifications on CT and a mucin-producing adenocarcinoma at pathologic examination of a gastric biopsy specimen. Abstract

Juvenile granulosa cell tumor (GCT) of the ovary is a rare neoplasm occurring in premenarchal girls and young women. Juvenile GCT that occurs in premenarchal girls usually produces sexual precocity as a consequence of estrogen secretion. Juvenile GCTs are more likely to grow to a relatively large size with a much smaller likelihood of peritoneal spread, unlike their counterpart, epithelial ovarian neoplasms. Abstract

Forty outpatients were randomized into two groups of 20. Twenty patients received 1 mg of intravenous glucagon and the other 20 did not. Three radiologists evaluated the bowel using a qualitative score and mean scores for each bowel level were compared. A different radiologist measured the maximal diameter of bowel at seven levels. There were no significant differences in qualitative or quantitative data for the two groups. Intravenous glucagon is therefore not routinely recommended for helical CT of the abdomen. Acinar cell carcinoma (ACC) is a rare tumor that constitutes 1% of pancreatic neoplasms. ACC is defined as a carcinoma exhibiting pancreatic enzyme production by neoplastic cells. Clinical presentation is usually related to either local spread or metastasis. In this Radiology-Pathology Conference, the clinical presentation and imaging findings of a patient with ACC of the pancreas, along with the differential diagnosis, are reviewed.
