Abstract

The article describes the case of a 69-year old woman who presented with a 3-year history of cutaneous lesions on the lower legs. Dermoscopy of the lesions revealed arborizing vessels while leg ultrasound showed hypoechoic areas in the dermis with extensive lymphohistocytic infiltrate that led to the diagnosis of papular scattered necrobiosis lipoidica (NL). The case illustrates the usefulness of dermoscopy and ultrasonography to support the diagnosis of NL with unusual symptomatology.
