Abstract

The article discusses the study which aimed at evaluating β-adrenergic regulation of cardiac contractility and describing the changes in cardiomyocyte cAMP signals and cAMP-PDE expression and activity after cardiac hypertrophy. The study showed that β-adrenergic desensitization is associated with the decrease in AMP-PDE and modulation changes in β-cAMP signals in cardiac hypertrophy. It also offers an evidence for a reduction in cAMP-hydrolytic reserve during cardiac hypertrophy.
