Abstract

The article discusses carbon dioxide (CO2) sequestration as a mitigating strategy for climate change. It is believed that the option of removing CO2 from the atmosphere through biological sequestration can be achieved through proper land use and forestry projects. However the author presents his own perspective that focusing on carbon uptake activities are costly. It recommends solutions including providing predetermined schedule of carbon storage for sequestration activities. Analyses on emission reduction from different countries are also presented.
