Ferroelectric HfO2 has attracted much attention owing to its superior ferroelectricity at an ultra-thin thickness and good compatibility with Si-based complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS) technology. However, the crystallization of polar orthorhombic phase (o-phase) HfO2 is less competitive, which greatly limits the ferroelectricity of the as-obtained ferroelectric HfO2 thin films. Fortunately, the crystallization of o-phase HfO2 can be thermodynamically modulated via interfacial stress engineering. In this paper, the growth of improved ferroelectric Al doped HfO2 (HfO2:Al) thin films on (111)-oriented Si substrate has been reported. Structural analysis has suggested that nonpolar monoclinic HfO2:Al grown on (111)-oriented Si substrate suffered from a strong compressive strain, which promoted the crystallization of (111)-oriented o-phase HfO2 in the as-grown HfO2:Al thin films. In addition, the in-plane lattice of (111)-oriented Si substrate matches well with that of (111)-oriented o-phase HfO2, which further thermally stabilizes the o-phase HfO2. Accordingly, an improved ferroelectricity with a remnant polarization (2 P r) of 26.7 μC/cm2 has been obtained. Compared to conventional devices, metasurfaces offer the advantages of being lightweight, with planarization and tuning flexibility. This provides a new way to integrate and miniaturize optical systems. In this paper, a metasurface capable of generating multiple bottle beams was designed. Based on the Pancharatnamâ€"Berry (Pâ€"B) phase principle, the metasurface lens can accurately control the wavefront by adjusting the aspect ratio of the titanium dioxide nanopillars and the rotation angle. When irradiated by left-handed circularly polarized light with a wavelength of 632.8 nm, the optical system can produce multiple micron bottle beams. Taking two bottle beams as examples, the longitudinal full widths at half-maximum of the optical tweezers can reach 0.85 ÎĽm and 1.12 ÎĽm, respectively, and the transverse full widths at half-maximum can reach 0.46 ÎĽm and 0.6 ÎĽm. Also, the number of generated bottle beams can be varied by controlling the size of the annular obstacle. By changing the x -component of the unit rotation angle, the metasurface can also change the shape of the bottle beam â€" the beam cross-section can be changed from circular to elliptical. This paper also analyzes the trapping of ytterbium atoms by the multi bottle beam acting as optical tweezers. It is found that the multi bottle beam can cool and trap multiple ytterbium atoms. Remote sensing images carry crucial ground information, often involving the spatial distribution and spatiotemporal changes of surface elements. To safeguard this sensitive data, image encryption technology is essential. In this paper, a novel Fibonacci sine exponential map is designed, the hyperchaotic performance of which is particularly suitable for image encryption algorithms. An encryption algorithm tailored for handling the multi-band attributes of remote sensing images is proposed. The algorithm combines a three-dimensional synchronized scrambled diffusion operation with chaos to efficiently encrypt multiple images. Moreover, the keys are processed using an elliptic curve cryptosystem, eliminating the need for an additional channel to transmit the keys, thus enhancing security. Experimental results and algorithm analysis demonstrate that the algorithm offers strong security and high efficiency, making it suitable for remote sensing image encryption tasks. Shear-thinning fluids have been widely used in microfluidic systems, but their internal flow mechanism is still unclear. Therefore, in this paper, molecular dynamics simulations are used to study the laminar flow of shear-thinning fluid in a microchannel. We validated the feasibility of our simulation method by evaluating the mean square displacement and Reynolds number of the solution layers. The results show that the change rule of the fluid system's velocity profile and interaction energy can reflect the shear-thinning characteristics of the fluids. The velocity profile resembles a top-hat shape, intensifying as the fluid's power law index decreases. The interaction energy between the wall and the fluid decreases gradually with increasing velocity, and a high concentration of non-Newtonian fluid reaches a plateau sooner. Moreover, the velocity profile of the fluid is related to the molecule number density distribution and their values are inversely proportional. By analyzing the radial distribution function, we found that the hydrogen bonds between solute and water molecules weaken with the increase in velocity. This paper explores a double quantum images representation (DNEQR) model that allows for simultaneous storage of two digital images in a quantum superposition state. Additionally, a new type of two-dimensional hyperchaotic system based on sine and logistic maps is investigated, offering a wider parameter space and better chaotic behavior compared to the sine and logistic maps. Based on the DNEQR model and the hyperchaotic system, a double quantum images encryption algorithm is proposed. Firstly, two classical plaintext images are transformed into quantum states using the DNEQR model. Then, the proposed hyperchaotic system is employed to iteratively generate pseudo-random sequences. These chaotic sequences are utilized to perform pixel value and position operations on the quantum image, resulting in changes to both pixel values and positions. Finally, the ciphertext image can be obtained by qubit-level diffusion using two XOR operations between the position-permutated image and the pseudo-random sequences. The corresponding quantum circuits are also given. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme ensures the security of the images during transmission, improves the encryption efficiency, and enhances anti-interference and anti-attack capabilities. Due to the fact that a memristor with memory properties is an ideal electronic component for implementation of the artificial neural synaptic function, a brand-new tristable locally active memristor model is first proposed in this paper. Here, a novel four-dimensional fractional-order memristive cellular neural network (FO-MCNN) model with hidden attractors is constructed to enhance the engineering feasibility of the original CNN model and its performance. Then, its hardware circuit implementation and complicated dynamic properties are investigated on multi-simulation platforms. Subsequently, it is used toward secure communication application scenarios. Taking it as the pseudo-random number generator (PRNG), a new privacy image security scheme is designed based on the adaptive sampling rate compressive sensing (ASR-CS) model. Eventually, the simulation analysis and comparative experiments manifest that the proposed data encryption scheme possesses strong immunity against various security attack models and satisfactory compression performance. This work builds an isobaric steady-state fluid analytical-physical model of the plasma conduction region in a conical target. The hydrodynamic instability in the double-cone ignition scheme[] for inertial confinement fusion (ICF) proposed by Zhang is studied with the built model. With this idealized model, the relevant parameters, such as density, temperature, and length of the plasma in the conduction region of the conical target under long-pulse conditions are given. The solution of the proposed analytical model dovetails with the trend of the numerical simulation. Seizures are caused by increased neuronal firing activity resulting from reduced inhibitory effect and enhancement of inhibitory modulation to suppress this activity is used as a therapeutic tool. However, recent experiments have shown a counterintuitive phenomenon that inhibitory modulation does not suppress but elicit post-inhibitory rebound (PIR) spike along with seizure to challenge the therapeutic tool. The nonlinear mechanism to avoid the PIR spike can present theoretical guidance to seizure treatment. This paper focuses on identifying credible bifurcations that underlie PIR spike by modulating multiple parameters in multiple theoretical models. The study identifies a codimension-2 bifurcation called saddle--node homoclinic orbit (SNHOB), which is an intersection between saddle node bifurcation on invariant cycle (SNIC) and other two bifurcations. PIR spike cannot be evoked for the SNIC far from the SNHOB but induced for the SNIC close to the SNHOB, which extends the bifurcation condition for PIR spike from the well-known Hopf to SNIC. Especially, in a thalamic neuron model, increases of conductance of T-type Ca2+ (T Ca) channel induce SNIC bifurcation approaching to the SNHOB to elicit PIR spikes, closely matching experimental results of the absence seizure or Parkinson diseases. Such results imply that, when inhibition is employed to relieve absence seizure and Parkinson diseases related to PIR spike, modulating SNIC to get far from the SNHOB to avoid PIR spike is the principle. The study also addresses the complex roles of T Ca current and comprehensive relationships between PIR spike and nonlinear conceptions such as bifurcation types and shapes of threshold curve. Quantum dialogue (QD) enables two communication parties to directly exchange secret messages simultaneously. In conventional QD protocols, photons need to transmit in the quantum channel for two rounds. In this paper, we propose a one-step QD protocol based on the hyperentanglement. With the help of the non-local hyperentanglement-assisted Bell state measurement (BSM), the photons only need to transmit in the quantum channel once. We prove that our one-step QD protocol is secure in theory and numerically simulate its secret message capacity under practical experimental condition. Compared with previous QD protocols, the one-step QD protocol can effectively simplify the experiment operations and reduce the message loss caused by the photon transmission loss. Meanwhile, the non-local hyperentanglement-assisted BSM has a success probability of 100% and is feasible with linear optical elements. To address the restriction of fiber-optic surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensors in the field of multi-sample detection, a novel dual-channel fiber-optic SPR sensor based on the cascade of coaxial dual-waveguide D-type structure and microsphere structure is proposed in this paper. The fiber sidepolishing technique converts the coaxial dual-waveguide fiber into a D-type one, and the evanescent wave in the ring core leaks, generating a D-type sensing region; the fiber optic fused ball push technology converts the coaxial dual waveguides into microspheres, and the stimulated cladding mode evanescent wave leaks, producing the microsphere sensing region. By injecting light into the coaxial dual-waveguide middle core alone, the sensor can realize single-stage sensing in the microsphere sensing area; it can also realize dual-channel sensing in the D-type sensing area and microsphere sensing area by injecting light into the ring core. The refractive index measurement ranges for the two channels are 1.333–1.365 and 1.375–1.405, respectively, with detection sensitivities of 981.56 nm/RIU and 4138 nm/RIU. All-inorganic, hole-transporting-layer-free CsPbIBr2 perovskite solar cells have great potential for development, but their device performance needs to be further improved. Recently, metal nanostructures have been successfully applied in the field of solar cells to improve their performance. Nano Ag-enhanced power conversion efficiency (PCE) in one CsPbIBr2 perovskite solar cell utilizing localized surface plasmons of Ag nanoparticles (NPs) on the surface has been researched experimentally and by simulation in this paper. The localized surface plasmon resonance of Ag NPs has a near-field enhancement effect, which is expected to improve the light absorption of CsPbIBr2 perovskite photovoltaic devices. In addition, Ag NPs have a forward-scattering effect on the incident light, which can also improve the performance of CsPbIBr2-based perovskite photovoltaic devices. By directly assembling Ag NPs (with a size of about 150 nm) on the surface of fluorine-doped tin oxide it is found when the particle surface coverage is 10%, the CsPbIBr2 perovskite photovoltaic device achieves a best PCE of 2.7%, which is 9.76% higher than that of the control group. Without changing any existing structure in the ready-made solar cell, this facile and efficient method has huge applications. The spatiotemporal evolutions of a one-dimensional collisionless decaying plasma bounded by two electrodes with an externally applied electrostatic field are studied by theoretical analyses and particle-in-cell (PIC) simulations with the ion extraction process in a laser-induced plasma as the major research background. Based on the theoretical analyses, the transport process of the charged particles including electrons and ions can be divided into three stages: electron oscillation and ion matrix sheath extraction stage, sheath expansion and ion rarefaction wave propagation stage and the plasma collapse stage, and the corresponding criterion for each stage is also presented. Consequently, a complete analytical model is established for describing the ion extraction flux at each stage during the decaying of the laser-induced plasmas under an electrostatic field, which is also validated by the PIC modeling results. Based on this analytical model, influences of the key physical parameters, including the initial electron temperature and number density, plasma width and the externally applied electric voltage, on the ratio of the extracted ions are predicted. The calculated results show that a higher applied electric potential, smaller initial plasma number density and plasma width lead to a higher ratio of the extracted ions during the first stage; while in this stage, the initial electron temperature shows little effect on it. Meanwhile, more ions will be extracted before the plasma collapse once a higher electric potential is applied. The theoretical model presented in this paper is helpful not only for a deep understanding to the charged particle transport mechanisms for a bounded decaying plasma under an applied electrostatic field, but also for an optimization of the ion extraction process in practical applications. Nonlinear elastic metamaterial, a topic which has attracted extensive attention in recent years, can enable broadband vibration reduction under relatively large amplitude. The combination of damping and strong nonlinearity in metamaterials may entail extraordinary effects and offer the capability for low-frequency and broadband vibration reduction. However, there exists a clear lack of proper design methods as well as the deficiency in understanding properties arising from this concept. To tackle this problem, this paper numerically demonstrates that the nonlinear elastic metamaterials, consisting of sandwich damping layers and collision resonators, can generate very robust hyper-damping effect, conducive to efficient and broadband vibration suppression. The collision-enhanced hyper damping is persistently presented in a large parameter space, ranging from small to large amplitudes, and for small and large damping coefficients. The achieved robust effects greatly enlarge the application scope of nonlinear metamaterials. We report the design concept, properties and mechanisms of the hyper-damping and its effect on vibration transmission. This paper reveals new properties offered by nonlinear elastic metamaterials, and offers a robust method for achieving efficient low-frequency and broadband vibration suppression. For digital image transmission security and information copyright, a new holographic image self-embedding watermarking encryption scheme is proposed. Firstly, the plaintext is converted to the RGB three-color channel, the corresponding phase hologram is obtained by holographic technology and the watermark is self-embedded in the frequency domain. Secondly, by applying the Hilbert transform principle and genetic center law, a complete set of image encryption algorithms is constructed to realize the encryption of image information. Finally, simulation results and security analysis indicate that the scheme can effectively encrypt and decrypt image information and realize the copyright protection of information. This paper analyzes the characteristics of emotion state and group behavior in the evacuation process. During the emergency evacuation, emotion state and group behavior are interacting with each other, and indivisible. The emotion spread model with the effect of group behavior, and the leader–follower model with the effect of emotion state are proposed. On this basis, exit choice strategies with the effect of emotion state and group behavior are proposed. Fusing emotion spread model, leader–follower model, and exit choice strategies into a cellular automata (CA)-based pedestrian simulation model, we simulate the evacuation process in a multi-exit case. Simulation results indicate that panic emotion and group behavior are two negative influence factors for pedestrian evacuation. Solving nonlinear partial differential equations have attracted intensive attention in the past few decades. In this paper, the Darboux transformation method is used to derive several positon and hybrid solutions for the (2+1)-dimensional complex modified Korteweg–de Vries equations. Based on the zero seed solution, the positon solution and the hybrid solutions of positon and soliton are constructed. The composition of positons is studied, showing that multi-positons of (2+1)-dimensional equations are decomposed into multi-solitons as well as the (1+1)-dimensions. Moreover, the interactions between positon and soliton are analyzed. This paper presents an experimental study on the resistance law of a rod vertically penetrating different kinds of multilayer granular rafts with a constant velocity so as to reveal the mechanical properties of the multilayer granular rafts. The resistance was quasi-static under the chosen velocity. Experiments were conducted with different granular thicknesses, rod diameters and combinations of particles and liquids. The study shows that the resistance–displacement relation of the rod has three smooth stages. In the first stage, the resistance rapidly increased. In the second stage, the resistance curve maintained an almost constant slope. In the third stage, the resistance smoothly changed with its slope continuously increasing. Based on the corresponding physical models for each stage, the study reveals the exponential dependence of the load-bearing capacity of the multilayer granular raft on its thickness, and clarifies the capillary effects on the resistance law. Terahertz wave is between microwave and infrared bands in the electromagnetic spectrum with the frequency range from 0.1 THz to 10 THz. Controlling and processing of the polarization state in terahertz wave are the focus due to its great influence on the characteristics. In this paper, a transmissive metasurface terahertz polarization converter is designed in 3D structure with an upper surface of ruler-like rectangular, an intermediate dielectric layer and a lower surface of metal grid wires. Numerical simulations of the converter show that the polarization conversion ratio (PCR) is above 99.9% at 0.288 THz–1.6 THz, the polarization rotation angle (PRA) is close to 90° at 0.06 THz–1.4 THz, and the ellipticity angle (EA) is close to 0° at 0.531 THz–1.49 THz. The origin of the efficient polarization conversion is explained by analyzing the electric field intensity, magnetic field intensity, surface current, electric field energy density, and magnetic field energy density distributions of the converter at 1.19 THz and 0.87 THz, which are consistent with the energy transmittance and transmittance coefficient. In addition, the effects of different thickness and material of intermediate layer, thickness of upper surface material, polarized wave incidence angle, and metasurface materials on the performance of the polarization converter are discussed, and how they affect the conversion performance of the polarization converter are also explained. Our results provide a strong theoretical basis and technical support to develop high performance transmission-type terahertz polarization converters, and play an important role to promote the development of terahertz science and technology. Diffusion in narrow curved channels with dead-ends as in extracellular space in the biological tissues, e.g., brain, tumors, muscles, etc. is a geometrically induced complex diffusion and is relevant to different kinds of biological, physical, and chemical systems. In this paper, we study the effects of geometry and confinement on the diffusion process in an elliptical comb-like structure and analyze its statistical properties. The ellipse domain whose boundary has the polar equation ρ (θ) = b 1 − e 2 cos 2 θ with 0 < e < 1, θ ∈ [0,2 π ], and b as a constant, can be obtained through stretched radius r such that Υ = r ρ (θ) with r ∈ [0,1]. We suppose that, for fixed radius r = R, an elliptical motion takes place and is interspersed with a radial motion inward and outward of the ellipse. The probability distribution function (PDF) in the structure and the marginal PDF and mean square displacement (MSD) along the backbone are obtained numerically. The results show that a transient sub-diffusion behavior dominates the process for a time followed by a saturating state. Cyclo[18]carbon has received considerable attention thanks to its novel geometric configuration and special electronic structure. Superalkalis have low ionization energy. Doping a superalkali in cyclo[18]carbon is an effective method to improve the optical properties of the system because considerable electron transfer occurs. In this paper, the geometry, bonding properties, electronic structure, absorption spectrum, and nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of superalkaline M 3O (M = Li, Na)-doped cyclo[18]carbon were studied by using density functional theory. M 3O and the C18 rings are not coplanar. The C18 ring still exhibits alternating long and short bonds. The charge transfer between M 3O and C18 forms stable [ M 3O]+[C18]− ionic complexes. C18 M 3O (M = Li, Na) shows striking optical nonlinearity, i.e., their first- and second-order hyperpolarizability (β vec and γ ||) increase considerably at λ = 1907 nm and 1460 nm. This paper presents a novel view of the impact of electron collision off-axis positions on the dynamic properties and relativistic nonlinear Thomson inverse scattering of excited electrons within tightly focused, circularly polarized laser pulses of varying intensities. We examine the effects of the transverse ponderomotive force, specifically how the deviation angle and speed of electron motion are affected by the initial off-axis position of the electron and the peak amplitude of the laser pulse. When the laser pulse intensity is low, an increase in the electron's initial off-axis distance results in reduced spatial radiation power, improved collimation, super-continuum phenomena generation, red-shifting of the spectrum's harmonic peak, and significant symmetry in the radiation radial direction. However, in contradiction to conventional understandings, when the laser pulse intensity is relatively high, the properties of the relativistic nonlinear Thomson inverse scattering of the electron deviate from the central axis, changing direction in opposition to the aforementioned effects. After reaching a peak, these properties then shift again, aligning with the previous direction. The complex interplay of these effects suggests a greater nuance and intricacy in the relationship between laser pulse intensity, electron position, and scattering properties than previously thought. The anisotropic physical property is the most noteworthy feature of crystals. In this paper, the subscript change method is used to analyze the sign changes of different tensors describing physical properties in uniaxial crystals. The distribution of some physical properties in special point groups exhibits non-symmetry in eight quadrants, which should attract the attention of crystal research. The difference between the crystallographic and physical coordinate systems and the lack of crystal symmetry operations are considered to be the origins of the non-symmetry. To avoid ambiguities and difficulties in characterizing and applying crystal physical properties, eight quadrants in space should be clarified. Hence, we proposed the use of piezoelectric properties to define the positive direction of the optical coordinate axis prior to the research and applications of optical properties. Continuous-wave cavity ring-down spectroscopy (CW-CRDS) is an important technical means to monitor greenhouse gases in atmospheric environment. In this paper, a CW-CRDS system is built to meet the needs of atmospheric methane monitoring. The problem of mode matching is explained from the perspective of transverse mode and longitudinal mode, and the influence of laser injection efficiency on measurement precision is further analyzed. The results of cavity ring-down time measurement show that the measurement precision is higher when the laser is coupled with the fundamental mode. In the experiment, DFB laser is used to calibrate the system with standard methane concentration, and the measurement residual is less than ±4 Ă— 10âˆ'4 ÎĽsâˆ'1. The methane concentration in the air is monitored in real time for two days. The results show the consistency of the concentration changes over the two days, which further demonstrates the reliability of the system for the measurement of trace methane. The two types of nonlinear optical cryptosystems (NOCs) that are respectively based on amplitude-phase retrieval algorithm (APRA) and phase retrieval algorithm (PRA) have attracted a lot of attention due to their unique mechanism of encryption process and remarkable ability to resist common attacks. In this paper, the securities of the two types of NOCs are evaluated by using a deep-learning (DL) method, where an end-to-end densely connected convolutional network (DenseNet) model for cryptanalysis is developed. The proposed DL-based method is able to retrieve unknown plaintexts from the given ciphertexts by using the trained DenseNet model without prior knowledge of any public or private key. A dual-function terahertz metasurface based on VO2 and graphene is proposed in this paper. It consists of a gold layer embedded with VO2 patches, a SiO2 spacer layer, a VO2 layer, graphene and a SiO2 spacer substrate. When the bottom VO2 layer is in the metallic state, the designed metasurface can achieve absorption. When the top VO2 patches are in the metallic state, the proposed metasurface can be used as a single-band absorber with terahertz absorptance of 99.7% at 0.736 THz. When the top VO2 patches are in the insulating state, the designed structure behaves as a dual-band absorber with an absorptance of 98.9% at 0.894 THz and 99.9% at 1.408 THz. In addition, the absorber is polarization insensitive and keeps good performance at large angles of incidence. When the bottom VO2 is in an insulating state, the metasurface shows electromagnetically induced transparency. The transparent window can be dynamically regulated by controlling the chemical potential of graphene. The proposed metasurface exhibits the advantages of terahertz absorption, electromagnetically induced transparency and dynamic control, which provides more options for the design of terahertz devices in the future. The magnetic properties of single crystals Si, SrTiO3, LaAlO3, MgO, and (La,Sr)(Al,Ta)O3 were investigated systematically. Three origins of the magnetizations of these crystals, namely, an intrinsic diamagnetic, a paramagnetic, and a ferromagnetic contribution, have been found to influence the magnetic signals measured on the crystals, in some important application scenarios such crystals being served as substrates with the magnetic thin film epitaxially grown on. Quantitative analyses methodologies were developed and thorough investigations were performed on the crystals with the intrinsic materials parameters thus revealed, especially that the intrinsic diamagnetic susceptibility differential d χ dia/d T were identified quantitatively for the first time in SrTiO3, LaAlO3, MgO, and (La,Sr)(Al,Ta)O3. The paramagnetic contribution is found to be the key in terms of the magnetic properties of the crystals, which in turn is in fact a consequence of the 3d impurities doping inside the crystal. Electrical sensing systems, such as those involving eutectic salt, are mostly used in connection to leakage from existing airborne high-temperature air-conducting pipelines. Such complex structured systems are susceptible to external interferences and, thus, cannot meet the increasingly strict monitoring needs of a complex air-conducting pipeline system of an aircraft. In view of this point, this paper studies an alternative sensor system based on a dense array fiber grating. To obtain a compact and light-weight airborne signal processing system, a field programmable gate array is used as the main control core that controls the output of the light source. The functions of pulse modulation, analog-to-digital conversion, data buffering and transmission are integrated into a single system, while the linear sensing monitoring is obtained by detecting the time-division and wavelength-division wavelength drift signals of the fiber Bragg grating array. Our experiments show that the spatial resolution of the linear sensing system approaches 5 cm, the temperature measurement accuracy reaches 2 °C, the temperature measurement range is between 0â€"250 °C, and the response time is within 4 s. Astrocytes have a regulatory function on the central nervous system (CNS), especially in the temperature-sensitive hippocampal region. In order to explore the thermosensitive dynamic mechanism of astrocytes in the CNS, we establish a neuronâ€"astrocyte minimum system to analyze the synchronization change characteristics based on the Hodgkinâ€"Huxley model, in which a pyramidal cell and an interneuron are connected by an astrocyte. The temperature range is set as 0 °Câ€"40 °C to juggle between theoretical calculation and the reality of a brain environment. It is shown that the synchronization of thermosensitive neurons exhibits nonlinear behavior with changes in astrocyte parameters. At a temperature range of 0 °Câ€"18 °C, the effects of the astrocyte can provide a tremendous influence on neurons in synchronization. We find the existence of a value for inositol triphosphate (IP3) production rate and feedback intensities of astrocytes to neurons, which can ensure the weak synchronization of two neurons. In addition, it is revealed that the regulation of astrocytes to pyramidal cells is more sensitive than that to interneurons. Finally, it is shown that the synchronization and phase transition of neurons depend on the change in Ca2+ concentration at the temperature of weak synchronization. Three-dimensional (3D) lidar has been widely used in various fields. The MEMS scanning system is one of its most important components, while the limitation of scanning angle is the main obstacle to improve the demerit for its application in various fields. In this paper, a folded large field of view scanning optical system is proposed. The structure and parameters of the system are determined by theoretical derivation of ray tracing. The optical design software Zemax is used to design the system. After optimization, the final structure performs well in collimation and beam expansion. The results show that the scan angle can be expanded from ±5° to ±26.5°, and finally the parallel light scanning is realized. The spot diagram at a distance of 100 mm from the exit surface shows that the maximum radius of the spot is 0.506 mm with a uniformly distributed spot. The maximum radius of the spot at 100 m is 19 cm, and the diffusion angle is less than 2 mrad. The energy concentration in the spot range is greater than 90% with a high system energy concentration, and the parallelism is good. This design overcomes the shortcoming of the small mechanical scanning angle of the MEMS lidar, and has good performance in collimation and beam expansion. For a magnetocardiography (MCG) system inside a magnetically shielded room (MSR), the residual field should be further suppressed to obtain high-quality MCG signals. In this paper, a compensation system has been developed based on the bi-planar coil and the proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller. The bi-planar coil, derived from the target-field theory and the Tikhonov regularization method, is utilized to generate magnetic field with high uniformity in the pre-defined target region. And the PID controller is introduced to provide dynamic compensation current for the coil, according to the residual field change monitored by a reference SQUID magnetometer. The measurement results show that the noise suppression ratio (NSR) can reach above 20 dB in the low-frequency range from 0.1 Hz to 50 Hz. The DC component and the fluctuation of the residual field in time-domain can be respectively suppressed to 0 pT and 4 pT, indicating that this proposed compensation method is useful for the MCG measurement. Traffic flow prediction is an effective strategy to assess traffic conditions and alleviate traffic congestion. Influenced by external non-stationary factors and road network structure, traffic flow sequences have macro spatiotemporal characteristics and micro chaotic characteristics. The key to improving the model prediction accuracy is to fully extract the macro and micro characteristics of traffic flow time sequences. However, traditional prediction model by only considers time features of traffic data, ignoring spatial characteristics and nonlinear characteristics of the data itself, resulting in poor model prediction performance. In view of this, this research proposes an intelligent combination prediction model taking into account the macro and micro features of chaotic traffic data. Firstly, to address the problem of time-consuming and inefficient multivariate phase space reconstruction by iterating nodes one by one, an improved multivariate phase space reconstruction method is proposed by filtering global representative nodes to effectively realize the high-dimensional mapping of chaotic traffic flow. Secondly, to address the problem that the traditional combinatorial model is difficult to adequately learn the macro and micro characteristics of chaotic traffic data, a combination of convolutional neural network (CNN) and convolutional long short-term memory (ConvLSTM) is utilized for capturing nonlinear features of traffic flow more comprehensively. Finally, to overcome the challenge that the combined model performance degrades due to subjective empirical determined network parameters, an improved lightweight particle swarm is proposed for improving prediction accuracy by optimizing model hyperparameters. In this paper, two highway datasets collected by the Caltrans Performance Measurement System (PeMS) are taken as the research objects, and the experimental results from multiple perspectives show that the comprehensive performance of the method proposed in this research is superior to those of the prevalent methods. Two-phase Îł -TiAl/ α 2-Ti3Al lamellar intermetallics have attracted considerable attention because of their excellent strength and plasticity. However, the exact deformation mechanisms remain to be investigated. In this paper, a solidified lamellar Tiâ€"Al alloy with lamellar orientation at 0°, 17°, and 73° with respect to the loading direction was stretched by utilizing molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. The results show that the mechanical properties of the sample are considerably influenced by solidified defects and tensile directions. The structure deformation and fracture were primarily attributed to an intrinsic stacking fault (ISF) accompanied by the nucleated Shockley dislocation, and the adjacent extrinsic stacking fault (ESF) and ISF formed by solidification tend to form large HCP structures during the tensile process loading at 73°. Moreover, cleavage cracking easily occurs on the Îł / α 2 interface under tensile deformation. The fracture loading mechanism at 17° is grain boundary slide whereas, at 73° and 0°, the dislocation piles up to form a dislocation junction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

As the scale and complexity have been increased in software systems, developers place more emphases on software engineering and system designs. Software architecture is evolved with update of softwares, and it plays a fundamental role in determining quality of software systems. Multifractal characteristics of software networks can reflect software quality. In this paper, we construct a software network from the dependencies between object classes, and gain a deep understanding of software through network analysis. To be specific, multifractal analysis of the software network is performed based on a modified box-covering algorithm that yields fewer boxes. We verify that software with different functions and dependencies is multifractal. Further, different versions of the software are compared to discover the evolution of the software architecture. The results show that the singularity of class dependencies decreases as the software is updated. This trend leads to a more specific division of functions between software modules. One of the visible advantages of our work is that it allows the characterization of software structures at the code level. A kind of nested eccentric waveguide constructed with two cylindrical nanowires coated with graphene was designed. The mode characteristics of this waveguide were studied using the multipole method. It was found that the three lowest modes (mode 0, mode 1 and mode 2) can be combined by the zero-order mode or/and the first-order modes of two single nanowires. Mode 0 has a higher figure of merit and the best performance among these modes within the parameter range of interest. The mode characteristics can be adjusted by changing the parameters of the waveguide. For example, the propagation length will be increased when the operating wavelength, the minimum spacing between the inner and outer cylinders, the inner cylinder radius and the Fermi energy are increased. However, when the outer cylinder radius, the dielectric constants of region I, or the dielectric constants of region III are increased, the opposite effect can be seen. These results are consistent with the results obtained using the finite element method (FEM). The effects of radiation on 3CG110 PNP bipolar junction transistors (BJTs) are characterized using 50-MeV protons, 40-MeV Si ions, and 1-MeV electrons. In this paper, electrical characteristics and deep level transient spectroscopy (DLTS) are utilized to analyze radiation defects induced by ionization and displacement damage. The experimental results show a degradation of the current gain and an increase in the types of radiation defect with increasing fluences of 50-MeV protons. Moreover, by comparing the types of damage caused by different radiation sources, the characteristics of the radiation defects induced by irradiation show that 50-MeV proton irradiation can produce both ionization and displacement defects in the 3CG110 PNP BJTs, in contrast to 40-MeV Si ions, which mainly generate displacement defects, and 1-MeV electrons, which mainly produce ionization defects. This work provides direct evidence of a synergistic effect between the ionization and displacement defects caused in PNP BJTs by 50-MeV protons. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Superbunching pseudothermal light has important applications in studying the second- and higher-order interference of light in quantum optics. Unlike the photon statistics of thermal or pseudothermal light is well understood, the photon statistics of superbunching pseudothermal light has not been studied yet. In this paper, we will employ single-photon detectors to measure the photon statistics of superbunching pseudothermal light and calculate the degree of second-order coherence. It is found that the larger the value of the degree of second-order coherence of superbunching pseudothermal light is, the more the measured photon distribution deviates from the one of thermal or pseudothermal light in the tail part. The results are helpful to understand the physics of two-photon superbunching with classical light. It is suggested that superbunching pseudothermal light can be employed to generate non-Rayleigh temporal speckles. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We explore the time evolution law of a two-mode squeezed light field (pure state) passing through twin diffusion channels, and we find that the final state is a squeezed chaotic light field (mixed state) with entanglement, which shows that even though the two channels are independent of each other, since the two modes of the initial state are entangled with each other, the final state remains entangled. Nevertheless, although the squeezing (entanglement) between the two modes is weakened after the diffusion, it is not completely removed. We also highlight the law of photon number evolution. In the calculation process used in this paper, we make full use of the summation method within the ordered product of operators and the generating function formula for two-variable Hermite polynomials. This paper details the design and simulation of a novel low-loss four-bit reconfigurable bandpass filter that integrates microelectromechanical system (MEMS) switches and comb resonators. A T-shaped reconfigurable resonator is reconfigured in a ‘one resonator, multiple MEMS switches’ configuration and used to gate the load capacitances of comb resonators so that a multiple-frequency filtering function is realized within the 7â€"16 GHz frequency range. In addition, the insertion loss of the filter is less than 1.99 dB, the out-of-band rejection is more than 18.30 dB, and the group delay is less than 0.25 ns. On the other hand, the size of this novel filter is only 4.4 mm Ă— 2.5 mm Ă— 0.4 mm. Our results indicate that this MEMS reconfigurable filter, which can switch 16 central frequency bands through eight switches, achieves a low insertion loss compared to those of traditional MEMS filters. Three-dimensional (3D) vertical architecture transistors represent an important technological pursuit, which have distinct advantages in device integration density, operation speed, and power consumption. However, the fabrication processes of such 3D devices are complex, especially in the interconnection of electrodes. In this paper, we present a novel method which combines suspended electrodes and focused ion beam (FIB) technology to greatly simplify the electrodes interconnection in 3D devices. Based on this method, we fabricate 3D vertical core-double shell structure transistors with ZnO channel and Al2O3 gate-oxide both grown by atomic layer deposition. Suspended top electrodes of vertical architecture could be directly connected to planar electrodes by FIB deposited Pt nanowires, which avoid cumbersome steps in the traditional 3D structure fabrication technology. Both single pillar and arrays devices show well behaved transfer characteristics with an I on/ I off current ratio greater than 106 and a low threshold voltage around 0 V. The ON-current of the 2 Ă— 2 pillars vertical channel transistor was 1.2 ÎĽA at the gate voltage of 3 V and drain voltage of 2 V, which can be also improved by increasing the number of pillars. Campus security has aroused many concerns from the whole society. Stampede is one of the most frequent and influential accidents in campus. Studies on pedestrian dynamics especially focusing on students are essential for campus security, which are helpful to improve facility design and emergency evacuation strategy. In this paper, primary and middle school students were recruited to participate in the single-file experiments. The microscopic movement characteristics, including walking speed, headway, gait characteristics (step length, step frequency and swaying amplitude) and their relations were investigated. Age and gender differences in the headway-speed diagram and space requirements were analyzed by statistical tests. The results indicated that the impacts of age and gender were significant. There were three stages for the influence of gender on the headway-speed diagram for both age groups. The impacts on students' space requirements were consistent for different age and gender groups. But the impacts of age and gender on free-flow speed were affected by each other. Due to the connection of walking speed and gait characteristics, the comparisons of gait characteristics between different ages and genders were performed to understand the corresponding differences in speed more deeply. The results showed that differences in step length and swaying amplitude between males and females were significant for both age groups. The effect of gender on step frequency was significant for primary students. But for middle school students, whether gender had significant impact on step frequency was not clear here because of the large P-value. In citric acid-based carbon dots, molecular fluorophore contributes greatly to the fluorescence emission. In this paper, the nitrogen and sulfur co-doped carbon dots (N,S-CDs) were prepared, and an independent sulfur source is selected to achieve the doping controllability. The influence of sulfur doping on the molecular fluorophore was systematically studied. The introduction of sulfur atoms may promote the formation of molecular fluorophore due to the increased nitrogen content in CDs. The addition surface states containing sulfur were produced, and S element exists as –SO3, and –SO4 groups. Appreciate ratio of nitrogen and sulfur sources can improve the fluorescence emission. The photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQY) is increased from 56.4% of the single N-doping CDs to 63.4% of double-doping CDs, which ascribes to the synergistic effect of molecular fluorophores and surface states. Compensated ferrimagnetic insulators are particularly interesting for enabling functional spintronic, optical, and microwave devices. Among many different garnets, Gd3Fe5O12 (GdIG) is a representative compensated ferrimagnetic insulator. In this paper, we will study the evolution of the surface morphology, the magnetic properties, and the magnetization compensation through changing the following parameters: the annealing temperature, the growth temperature, the annealing duration, and the choice of different single crystalline garnet substrates. Our objective is to find the optimized growth condition of the GdIG films, for the purpose of achieving a strong perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) and a flat surface, together with a small effective damping parameter. Through our experiments, we have found that the surface roughness approaching 0.15 nm can be obtained by choosing the growth temperature around 700 °C, together with an enhanced PMA. We have also found the modulation of magnetic anisotropy by choosing different single crystalline garnet substrates which change the tensile strain to the compressive strain. A measure of the effective magnetic damping parameter (αeff = 0.04±0.01) through a spin pumping experiment in a GdIG/Pt bilayer is also made. Through optimizing the growth dynamics of GdIG films, our results could be useful for synthesizing garnet films with a PMA, which could be beneficial for the future development of ferrimagnetic spintronics. Extremely large magnetoresistance (XMR) has been explored in many nonmagnetic topologically nontrivial/trivial semimetals, while it is experimentally ambiguous which mechanism should be responsible in a specific material due to the complex electronic structures. In this paper, the magnetoresistance origin of single crystal CaAl4 with C2/m structure at low temperature is investigated, exhibiting unsaturated magnetoresistance of ∼ 3000% at 2.5 K and 14 T as the fingerprints of XMR materials. By the combination of ARPES and the first-principles calculations, we elaborate multiband features and anisotropic Fermi surfaces, which can explain the mismatch of isotropic two-band model. Although the structural phase transition from I4/mmm to C2/m has been recognized, the subtle impact on electronic structure is revealed by our ARPES measurements. Considering that both charge compensation and potential topologically nontrivial band structure exist in CaAl4, our findings report CaAl4 as a new reference material for exploring the XMR phenomena. We report a GaSb-based type-I quantum well cascade diode laser emitting at nearly 2-μm wavelength. The recycling of carriers is realized by the gradient AlGaAsSb barrier and chirped GaSb/AlSb/InAs electron injector. The growth of quaternary digital alloy with a gradually changed composition by short-period superlattices is introduced in detail in this paper. And the quantum well cascade laser with 100-μm-wide, 2-mm-long ridge generates an about continuous-wave output of 0.8 W at room temperature. The idea of network splitting according to time delay and weight is introduced. Based on the cyber physical systems (CPS), a class of multi-weighted complex transportation networks with multiple delays is modeled. The finite-time synchronization of the proposed complex transportation networks model is studied systematically. On the basis of the theory of stability, the technique of adaptive control, aperiodically intermittent control and finite-time control, the aperiodically intermittent adaptive finite-time synchronization controller is designed. The controller designed in this paper is beneficial for understanding the synchronization in multi-weighted complex transportation networks with multiple delays. In addition, the conditions for the existence of finite time synchronization have been discussed in detail. And the specific value of the settling finite time for synchronization is obtained. Moreover, the outer coupling configuration matrices are not required to be irreducible or symmetric. We synthesized and investigated the boron-doped and boron/nitrogen co-doped large single-crystal diamonds grown under high pressure and high temperature (HPHT) conditions (5.9 GPa and 1290 °C). The optical and electrical properties and surface characterization of the synthetic diamonds were observed and studied. Incorporation of nitrogen significantly changed the growth trace on surface of boron-containing diamonds. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) measurements showed good evident that nitrogen atoms successfully incorporate into the boron-rich diamond lattice and bond with carbon atoms. Raman spectra showed differences on the as-grown surfaces and interior between boron-doped and boron/nitrogen co-doped diamonds. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) measurements indicated that the nitrogen incorporation significantly decreases the boron acceptor concentration in diamonds. Hall measurements at room temperature showed that the carriers concentration of the co-doped diamonds decreases, and the mobility increases obviously. The highest hole mobility of sample BNDD-1 reached 980 cm2⋅V−1⋅s−1, possible reasons were discussed in the paper. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Enormous progresses to understand the jamming transition have been driven via simulating purely repulsive particles which were somehow idealized in the past two decades. While the attractive systems are both theoretical and practical compared with repulsive systems. By studying the statistics of rigid clusters, we find that the critical packing fraction ϕc varies linearly with attraction μ for different system sizes when the range of attraction is short. While for systems with long-range attractions, however, the slope of ϕc appears significantly different, which means that there are two distinct jamming scenarios. In this paper, we focus our main attention on short-range attractions scenario and define a new quantity named "short-range attraction susceptibility" χp, which describes the degree of response of the probability of finding jammed states pj to short-range attraction strength μ. Our central results are that χp diverges in the thermodynamic limit as , where is the packing fraction at the jamming transition for the infinite system in the absence of attraction. χp obeys scaling collapse with a scaling function in both two and three dimensions, illuminating that the jamming transition can be considered as a phase transition as proposed in previous work. Coupled phase oscillators are adopted as powerful platforms in studying synchrony behaviors emerged in various systems with rhythmic dynamics. Much attention has been focused on coupled time-continuous oscillators described by differential equations. In this paper, we study the synchronization dynamics of networks of coupled circle maps as the discrete version of the Kuramoto model. Despite of its simplicity in mathematical form, it is found that discreteness may induce many interesting synchronization behaviors. Multiple synchronization and desynchronization transitions of both phases and frequencies are found with varying the coupling among circle-map oscillators. The mechanisms of these transitions are interpreted in terms of the mean-field approach, where collective bifurcation cascades are revealed for coupled circle-map oscillators. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
