Abstract

The article presents a study which aims to determine the presence of anti-inflammatory properties in azithromycin in the treatment of asthma. It mentions that 7-week-old BALB/cJ mice went through intraperitoneal ovalbumin sensitization from 0-7 days and were cured with phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) solution from 13-16 days. Results reveal that azithromycin had weakened allergic airway inflammation which shows the anti-inflammatory effect of azithromycin.
