The current study tries to find the impact of the integration of laccase enzyme (Lac) onto magnetized chitosan (Cs) nanoparticles composed of molybdenum disulfide (MoS 2 NPs) (Fe 3 O 4 /Cs/MoS 2 /Lac NPs) on the removal of AFM 1 in milk samples. The Fe 3 O 4 /Cs/MoS 2 /Lac NPs were characterized by FT-IR, XRD, BET, TEM, FESEM, EDS, PSA, and VSM analysis. The cytotoxic activity of the synthesized nanoparticles in different concentrations was evaluated using the MTT method. The results show that the synthesized nanoparticles don't have cytotoxic activity at concentrations less than 20 mg/l. The ability of the prepared nanoparticles to remove AFM 1 was compared by bare laccase enzyme, MoS 2 , and Fe 3 O 4 /Cs/MoS 2 composite, indicating that the Fe 3 O 4 /Cs/MoS 2 /Lac NPs the highest adsorption efficiency toward AFM 1 . Besides, the immobilization efficiency of laccase with a concentration range of 0.5-2.0 was investigated, indicating that the highest activity recovery of 96.8% was obtained using 2 mg/ml laccase loading capacity. The highest removal percentage of AFM 1 (68.5%) in the milk samples was obtained by the Fe 3 O 4 /Cs/MoS 2 /Lac NPs at a contact time of 1 h. In the present study, metal organic frameworks (MOFs) and aminated graphitic carbonaceous structure (ACS-RGO) through chemical synthesis prepared by a simple precipitation method and used for diazinon removal. Several techniques such as XRD , FESEM and FTIR were applied for identification of MOF-5 and ACS-RGO. Also, response surface methodology (RSM) was employed in this work to look at the effectiveness of diazinon adsorption. To forecast pesticide removal, we applied artificial neural network (ANN) and Box-Behnken Design (BBD) models. For the ANN model, a sensitivity analysis was also performed. The effect of independent variables like solution pH, various concentrations of diazinon, MOFs and ACS-RGO adsorbent dose and contact time were assessed to find out the optimum conditions. Based on the model prediction, the optimal condition for adsorption ACS-RGO and MOF-5 were determined to be pH 6.6 and 6.6, adsorbent dose of 0.59 and 0.906 g/L, and mixing time of 52.15 and 36.96 min respectively. These conditions resulted in 96.69% and 80.62% diazinon removal using ACS-RGO and MOF-5, respectively. Isotherm studies proved the adsorption of ACS-RGO and MOF-5 following the Langmuir isotherm model for diazinon removal. Diazinon removal followed by the pseudo-second and Pseudo-first order kinetics model provides a better fit for analyzing the kinetic data associated with pesticide adsorption for ACS-RGO and MOF-5, respectively. Based on the obtained results, the predicted values for the efficiency of diazinon removal with the ANN and BBD were similar (R 2 =0.98). The feasibility of recovering major and critical elements from acid mine drainage using a pilot-scale electrochemical reactor (ECR) was investigated by assessing elements concentration and species distribution in the liquid and solid phase (sludge) in multistage tests. These were carried out at different electrical currents (18-22 amps) and thus, pH (8-12). The results showed that major metals Al, Cu and Fe were removed from the liquid phase at pH 5.9 while remaining the majority of Zn (57.2 ppm). On the other hand, at pH 7, the effluent was mainly composed of Mn (7.3 ppm). These results were confirmed by the simulation results using the PHREEQC model, which also identified the main chemical species in solution and the precipitates formed after the treatment (oxyhydroxides/sulfates/oxides). The ECR treatment led to sludges with targeted critical elements, some up to 20 times (Co, Be and Sb) higher than their earth's crustal abundance. At pH 10, rare earth elements in the sludge targeted Ce, followed by Nd and La. Exposure to radionuclides, especially in food, can endanger the health of consumers. In this study, a systematic review and meta-analysis were performed regarding the concentration of radionuclides in tuna fish muscle. International databases including PubMed, Scopus, and Embase were searched to find articles regarding the concentration of radionuclides in tuna fish muscle from 1 January 2000 to 20 February 2021. The lowest and highest concentration of radionuclides was related to Caesium-137 ( 137 Cs) and Potassium-40 ( 4  K), respectively. The rank order of radionuclides based on their pooled concentration was 4  K (370.157 Bq/kg) >  210 Po Polonium-210 (26.312 Bq/kg) >  210 Pb (5.339 Bq/kg) >  226 Ra (4.005 Bq/kg) >  137 Cs (0.415 Bq/kg). The health risk assessment based on annual effective dose indicates that consumers are at the safe range of health risk (H < 1 mSv/y). Colloids, such as natural particulate matter and microplastics, can play a significant role in the fate and transport of organic contaminants. Specifically, these small nano-to micron-sized particles provide large surface area; thus, particle-aqueous interfacial chemistry becomes significant. In this work, we present an experimental investigation of interfacial photokinetics of malachite green cation (MG + ) adsorbed at the surface of polystyrene carboxyl (PSC) microspheres suspended in aqueous solution. Second harmonic generation (SHG), an interfacial selective laser spectroscopic tool, has been used to probe the buried interface. It is revealed that relative to the bulk, photoinduced degradation of MG + is accelerated by approximately 10-fold at this noncatalytic particle surface. By measuring the SHG-based surface electronic spectra, we have also demonstrated that N-demethylated intermediates of MG + remain at the interface until they are further decomposed. MG + exhibits a bathochromic shift at the interface. Together with strong binding affinity and faster initial rate of photodegradation of MG + at the interface, this work highlights that adsorption and surface photolysis are important pathways by which organic compounds can be transformed within the aquatic environment. This study was aimed to evaluate the effects of C60 fullerene concentrations (0, 125, 250, 500 and 1000 mg/L) and salicylic acid (0 and 0.2 mM) on growth and phytochemical accumulation of two feverfew genotypes (Pharmasaat and Jelitto) in a factorial experiment based on completely randomized design with three replications. According to the ANOVA, triple interaction of treatments were significant on morphological and phytochmical traits, however, the main effect of treatments only affected physiological attributes. Application of salicylic acid differentially influenced the effects of various concentrations of C60 fullerene on growth traits of both genotypes. In Pharmasaat, foliar application of salicylic acid increased growth traits of plants exposed to C60 fullerene at all concentrations, however, it improved the growth of Jelitto at higher levels of fullerene. The maximum increase of flower + leaf dry weight was recorded at 1000 mg/L C60 fullerene in combination with salicylic acid compared to control for Jelitto. In Pharmasaat, the parthenolide content significantly increased following increase of C60 fullerene up to 250 mg/L with salicylic acid, but a rapid decrease followed at 500-1000 mg/L. SEM images showed a wider deposition (many spheres with different sizes) of C60 fullerene on leaf tissue of Pharmasaat exposed to high concentration, involving changes in trichome density and tissue rupture. The essential oil content was not significantly increased upon experimental treatments compared to control. This research was aimed at determining the effects of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) on seed germination, seedling growth parameters and secondary metabolite (SM) production of Thymus daenensis in vitro. Seeds were aseptically cultured in Murashige and Skoog medium (MS) with various concentrations of MWCNTs (0, 125, 250, 500, 1000 and 2000 μg ml -1 ). Seed germination and morphological changes in seedlings were measured. The measurements were aimed at quantifying the total phenolic contents (TPC) and flavonoids (TFC), antioxidant activities and the activity of polyphenol oxidase (PPO), l-phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL), dehydrogenase (DHA) and peroxidase enzyme (POD) of the seedling extract. Seedling biomass and seedling height grew significantly as the MWCNTs level increased. The biomass and height peaked at 250 μg ml -1 (0.41 ± 0.01 gr FW, 5.99 ± 0.55 cm) and then rapidly decreased to 0.040 ± 0.1 gr FW and 1.42 ± 0.24 cm in response to 1000 μg ml -1 , 30 days after the treatment. Additionally, SM and the analyses of enzyme activity revealed that the highest amounts of TPC (6.70 ± 0.06 mg GAE g -1 DW), TFC (8.19 ± 0.01 mg QUE g -1 DW), antioxidant activities (73.88 ± 0.47%) and maximum PAL activity (1.25 ± 0.08 mM cm g -1 FW) were detected in plants grown on MS media fortified with 250 μg ml -1 MWCNTs. The results reveal that MWCNTs in low doses (250 μg ml -1 ) can encourage the production of biomass, elicit more SM from seedlings and enhance the biosynthesis of antioxidants. The current study aimed to investigate the impacts of different concentrations of GO/PANI nanocomposites (25, 50 and 100 mg L -1 ), in comparison with GO and PANI, on seed germination behaviors, morpho-physiological and biochemical traits in intact (mucilaginous) and demucilaged seeds, and young seedlings of the medicinal plant Salvia mirzayanii. Upon exposure to GO, seed germination was delayed and reduced, and growth attributes (root and shoot length, shoot fresh weight, and total chlorophyll content) declined, all of which could be attributed to the reductions in water uptake and oxidative stress particularly in demucilaged seeds. A hormetic dose-dependent response was observed for the growth traits in both intact and demucilaged seedlings upon exposure to GO/PANI concentrations, i.e. low-concentration stimulation and high-concentration repression. Elevated levels of H 2 O 2 in shoot tissue of the seedlings exposed to GO and high concentration of GO/PANI, in comparison with those exposed to low levels of GO/PANI and control, were linked with the activities of the antioxidant enzymes SOD, CAT, POD, and total phenolics. Overall, the results showed high toxicity of GO on germination and early growth of S. mirzayani that was more evident in demucilaged seedlings, whereas GO/PANI stimulated germination, and the effects on seedling growth were stimulatory or inhibitory depending on the application dose and presence of mucilage. Furthermore, the capacity of GO/PANI nanocomposites to improve germination and cause a regular porosity pattern in roots accompanied by improved water uptake and early establishment of S. mirzayanii propose potential implications of GO/PANI nanocomposites for seeds/plants in drought-prone ecosystems., (Copyright © 2019 Elsevier Ltd. Models of relationships between structure and antifungal activity of 1-[2-(substituted phenyl)allyl]imidazoles and related compounds were constructed by means of a multilayer neural network using the back-propagation (BP) algorithm. Each molecule was described by three structural and one physicochemical parameters. The leave-one-out procedure was used to assess the predictive ability of a neural network model. The results obtained were compared to those given in the literature by the multiple linear regression (MLR), and were found to be better. The contribution of each descriptor to the structure-activity relationships was evaluated. Hydrophobicity of the molecule was confirmed to take the most relevant part in the molecular description.
