Pectinic polysaccharides were isolated and characterized for the first time from the aerial part of Amaranthus cruentus L. The structural and chemical characteristics of the pectinic polysaccharides were analyzed by NMR, IR, HPLC, and AFM. It was shown that amaranth pectin had a linear α-1,4-D-galacturonan portion and branched rhamnogalacturonan regions. The neutral sugars were Rha, Ara, Gal, and Xyl. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Complexes with metal ions and nanostructures of pectin from Yalongoch lemon were prepared by precipitation. The structural organization and characteristics of the resulting nanostructures were studied by electron microscopy, rheology, and potentiometric titration. The article presents a study on isolated water-soluble polysaccharides (WSPS) from plant seeds of the family Apiaceae or Umbelliferae. The study uses alcohol to precipitate polysaccharides, as well as grinding air-dried seeds and extraction method for WSPS. The results reveal that isolated WSPS is different from its quantitative content and in monosaccharides. It adds that polysaccharides are involved in the physiological activity of food additives.

The quantitative composition of glycolipids from leaves of Eminium Lehmanii (Araceae) was established. It was shown that the predominant glycolipids were monogalactosyldiglycerides and digalactosyldiglycerides. The fatty-acid compositions of six glycolipids, of which digalactosyldiglycerides and sterylglycoside esters contained greater than 70% linoleic acid, were determined by GC.
