This brief review presents recent advances at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv in the application of Meerwein arylation for the synthesis of complex compounds including following heterocycles – 2-aminothiazoles, 2-aminoselenazoles, 3,4-dihydroisocoumarines, 3-hydroxythiophenes, dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones, 3-arylpyran-2-ones, and heterocyclic systems such as pyrazolo[4,3-e]thiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidine, 4,5-dihydro[1,2,3]triazolo-[1,5-a]pyrazin-6(7H)-ones, thienopyridinediones, 4H-thieno[2,3-c]-chromen-4-one, hexahydro-4H-furo[2,3-f]isoindoles.
