9. Steam Reforming of CH4over Ni/Mg-Al Catalyst prepared by spc-Method from Hydrotalcite

Abstract

The catalytic activity and stability for steam reforming of CH4was studied on Ni/Mg-Al prepared by the solid phase crystallization (spc-) method. spc-Ni/Mg-Al showed higher activity than those prepared by the conventional impregnation method such as Ni/MgO or Ni/Al2O3. This catalyst also showed high stability even under a low steam to carbon ratio. The high and stable activity of spc-Ni/Mg-Al is caused by the formation of highly dispersed and stable Ni metals.

Abstract

The catalytic activities for N2O decomposition and selective reduction with methane were studied on Fe-MCM-41 prepared by direct hydrothermal synthesis (DHT) and template ion exchange (TIE) methods. Fe-MCM-41-DHT showed higher activity than those prepared by TIE and impregnation methods. The high activity of Fe-MCM-41-DHT is caused by the formation of highly isolated and tetrahedrally coordinated iron-oxo species. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
