Abstract

The novel allenylphosphinates containing up to three axial and phosphorus asymmetric centers were prepared in excellent yields via the reactions of 6-chloro-6H-dibenzo[c,e][1,2]oxaphosphinine to propargyl alcohols. During the process, the configuration of phosphorus determined the biphenyl axial chirality, stereospecifically forming (l)-stereomers but did not influence the chirality of allenyl axis.

Abstract

A novel method for introducing an ester group via palladium-catalyzed ligand-directed C–H activation has been explored. The ortho-ethoxycarbonylation of O-methyl ketoximes proceeded smoothly with the nontoxic and easily handled reagent potassium oxalate monoester, affording the desired products in moderate to good yields. Furthermore, pyridine could also be employed as a directing group to obtain similar results in this transformation.

Abstract

From the underground parts of Glehnia littoralis FR. Schmidt ex Miquel (Umbelliferae), 26 compounds, including two new lignan glycosides [giehlinosides A (1) and B (2)], a new neolignan glycoside [glehlinoside C (3)], and a new phenylpropanoid glycoside 14-[beta-D-apiofuranosyl-(1-->6)-beta-D-glucopyranosyloxyl-3-methoxypropiophenone (4)1, were obtained and their structures were determined by analysis of their spectral data. The 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical-scavenging assay disclosed quercetin (8), isoquercetin (9), rutin (10), chlorogenic acid (11), and caffeic acid (24) as the major antioxidative constituents in this crude drug.

Abstract

From the roots ethanol extract of Glehnia littoralis, two new lignan glycosides, named glehlinoside E (1) and F (2), were obtained. Their structures were determined to be (-)-secoisoladciresinol 4-O-β-D-(6-O-feruloyl) glucopyranoside (1) and (-)-secoisolariciresinol 4-O-β-D-(6-O-caffeloyl) glucopyranoside (2) by analysis of their spectral data, respectively.
