Domino reaction of arylamines (II) and (VI) with acetylenedicarboxylate (I), cyclic β‐dicarbonyl compounds (III) and (VII) and aromatic aldehydes (IV) provides access towards fused 1,4‐dihydropyridine derivatives (V) and (VIII) in moderate yields.

In the presence of base and the salts (I), bromoenals undergo cycloaddition with 1,3‐dicarbonyl compounds to afford optically active dihydropyranones.

For the first time the Beirut reaction is carried out under supramolecular catalysis in water as environmentally benign solvent.

Functionalized 2‐amino‐hydropyridines (V)/(VII)/(IX) are exclusively obtained by reaction of arylamines (I), methyl propiolate (II), aromatic aldehydes (III) with malononitrile (IV) and cyanoacetamide (VI).

Stemazole (IXa) and its derivatives are prepared in four steps from methyl aminobenzoates (I) via construction of the oxadiazole ring as the key step.

BaNb2P2O11(I) and Ba3Nb2P4O18(II) are synthesized by solid state reactions of stoichiometric mixtures of BaCO3, Nb2O5, and (NH4)2HPO4(1100—1200 °C, 4 h).

The structure of the novel Ag0/AgImixed‐valent compound (II) is determined by single crystal XRD (cubic, space group Fd$\bar 3$, Z = 8).

(II) and (III) are the first compounds containing aluminum polyoxocations coordinated by sulfate ions.

Title compounds (VI) (21 examples) are synthesized starting from phthalic anhydride (I) using the cyclization reaction of phthalazinylhydrazine (II) with cyanogen bromide as the key step.

Nanocrystalline title solid solutions (x = 0, 0.05, 0.10, 0.20) are prepared by precipitation from aqueous solutions of NaVO3, La(NO3)3, and Fe(NO3)3with NH3followed by calcination of a mixture of the precipitate and LiNO3(alumina crucible, 450 °C, 6 h).

Title compounds (V), synthesized starting from dichlorophthalazine (I), are found to exhibit anticonvulsant activity.

Ellipsoid‐like two‐dimensional plates of the title compound are hydrothermally synthesized from EtOH solutions of Ca(NO3)2and NbCl5(pH 11 adjusted with NH4OH, autoclave, 200 °C, 24 h).
