Abstract

The title molecule, 3,7-bis(2-thienyl)-1,5,2,4,6,8-dithiatetrazocine, C 10 H 6 N 4 S 4 , is planar within 0.069 (5) A and crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2 1 /c. There are two centrosymmetric molecules in the cell; these are stacked such that each eight-membered C 2 N 4 S 2 ring has a thienyl ring above and below it. The mean interplanar separation is 3.55 (2) A.

Abstract

Crystals of (Cl2C3NS)(ClC2NS2), an isothiazolyl-substituted 1,2,3-dithiazolyl radical, consist of evenly spaced, slipped π-stacks; magnetic and conductivity measurements indicate the material is a Mott insulator with σRT = 2 × 10−7 S cm−1.

Abstract

C 24 H 20 ClN 3 P 2 Se cristallise dans P1 avec a=9,759, b=11,046, c=13,332 A, α=65,50, β=64,89, γ=74,96 o , Z=2; affinement jusqu'a R=0,036. Dans le cycle a 5 chai←nons, l'un des liens entre P et N est presque plan (a 0,053 A pres), tandis que l'atome Se soit de ce plan de 0,499 A du cote du chlore. Les longueurs des liaisons de la sequence Se−N−P−N sont en moyenne de 1,730; 1,637 et 1,584 A. Les angles des liaisons du cycle autour des atomes Se et P sont respectivement de 111,5 o et 117,8 o

Abstract

The tris(trimethylsilyl)amidines RC(NSiMe3)N(SiMe3)2 (R  C6H5, p-CH3C6-H4, p-ClC6H4, p-MeOC6H4, p-Me2NC6H4, p-CF3C6H4, p-C6H5C6H4 and CF3) are prepared by the reaction of the respective nitriles with (Me3Si)2NLi·OEt2 in ether to give intermediates RC(NLi)N(SiMe3)2. Heating these intermediates with ClSiMe3 in toluene affords the products, which are isolated by vacuum distillation, in high yield. With 1,4-dicyanobenzene, two equivalents of reagents affords the per(trimethylsilyl)-1,4-diamidine. Hydrolysis of the intermediates with 6N ethanolic HCl affords the unsubstituted amidine hydrochlorides RC(NH)NH2·HCl (R  C6-H5, p-MeOCh6H4, p-ClC6H4, p-O2NC6H4) in high yield.
