A one‐pot TfOH‐catalyzed cascade affords title series (IV) and (VI).

The title compounds (IV) are obtained by three‐component condensation reaction of β‐naphthol, cyclic 1,3‐dicarbonyl compounds, and aromatic aldehydes using silica sulfuric acid as an efficient and reusable heterogeneous catalyst.

A wide range of secondary and tertiary amides is synthesized by reaction of various carboxylic acids with amines using PPh3iodine or PS‐PPh2/iodine.
