In recent years, multifunctional sensors have attracted significant attention due to their ability to detect different types of signals. However, it still remains a challenge to develop flexible materials with multiple sensing functions. Herein, we propose a strategy to fabricate multifunctional flexible textiles (PCP) that can apply piezoelectric and piezo-phototronic effects to self-powered piezoelectric sensor and photodetector (PD) by utilizing the synergistic effect of polydopamine-coated cerium oxide (CeO 2 @PDA) nanoparticles and poly (vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF). The CeO 2 @PDA nanoparticles served as local nucleating agents and photosensitizers for the PVDF, enhancing the polar crystalline phase and inducing piezoelectric effect, semiconductor, and optical process coupling in PCP textiles. The piezoelectric sensors consisting of PCP textiles produced extremely high sensitivity (1–10 kPa: 1.27 V/kPa; 10–50 kPa: 0.085 V/kPa; 50–100 kPa: 0.02 V/kPa) and significant electrical output (25.5 V and 0.37 μA). Besides, the piezoelectric sensor had extensive applications including pulse wave measurement, limb motion detection, and active voice recognition. It's especially noteworthy that the PD based on PCP textiles is sensitive for the detecting of sunlight illumination as confirmed by response time (t On = 2 s and t Off = 4.6 s). Meanwhile, the fabricated self-powered PD showed significant improvement in output current, confirming the realization of the piezo-phototronic effect in PCP textiles. In this work, the low-cost and high-efficiency multifunctional sensing materials were successfully prepared, providing a novel approach for the next generation of self-powered piezoelectric sensors and photodetectors. Currently, the urgent requirement of high-energy–density storage devices for large-grid applications has been brought to public attention. Lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries are one of the most recognized candidates to substitute for the state-of-the-art lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries. To conquer the dogged polysulfide shuttling in Li-S cells, a supramolecular crystal was synthesized via the coordination of a thiol ligand with nickel to generate a unique cage-like cluster in the form of N 4 -Ni∙∙∙Ni-S 4 as the precursor of organosulfur, in which sulfur was anchored on nitrogen sites. The organosulfur undergoes changes in both the configuration and electron distribution upon lithiation/delithiation process, which can strengthen entrapment of polysulfides, boost efficient sulfur conversion and promote the reaction kinetics of the cathodes. The Li-S cells were demonstrated a high initial discharge capacity of 1354.9 mAh g−1 at 0.2 C and a long-term lifespan of 1000 cycles at 2 C. The high-loading sulfur cathodes of 8.6 mg cm−2 is capable of delivering an areal capacity as high as 9.1 mAh cm−2. Combining with the advantages of low cost and facile synthesis, such organosulfur is of great promising perspective in further boosting the commercial realization of Li-S batteries. • The low valent salt assisted roasting is developed for selective lithium extraction. • The recovery ratio of lithium reaches highly to 99.39% under the optimized process conditions. • The electrochemical performance of regenerated cathode material restores to commercial level. • The remarkable economic benefits provide support for industrial innovation and application. The efficient recovery of lithium from spent lithium-ion batteries has attracted extensive attention due to serious restriction of sustainable development of the lithium-ion battery industry caused by shortage and high price of lithium resources. The current traditional process faces high energy consumption and low benefit, which is not conducive to the industrial reform of selective lithium extraction from spent lithium-ion batteries. Herein, we propose a novel selective lithium extraction process through low-valent salts assisted roasting and washing to achieve the closed-loop recycling of spent cathode materials. The leaching rate of lithium reach 99.39% under the optimized conditions of the molar ratio of low-valent salts to spent LiCoO 2 materials of 3.0 and roasting temperature of 750 ℃ for 40 min. The key to the successful application of low-valent salts assisted roasting process relay on the conversion of insoluble polysulfides achieved by controlling the disproportionation reaction of cobalt with the aid of low valent salts. The regenerated LiCoO 2 materials display excellent structure and electrochemical performance with initial discharge specific capacity of 155.5mAh/g at 0.1C and the capacity retention rate 93.89% after 100 cycles. The remarkable economic and environmental benefits of the low-valent salts assisted roasting process provide support for practical industrial innovation and application of recycling of spent lithium-ion batteries. [Display omitted] • CSIA was effective to in situ analyze radical contributions on ATZ degradation by heat-activated PS. • ATZ can be degraded by heat-activated PS with high removal efficiency at pH 4–10. • Changes of δ13C and δ2H during ATZ degradation followed Rayleigh equation well. • The ε C values were 1.58‰ at pH 4 and 0.65‰ at pH 7 for SO 4 – -dominated oxidation. • Contributions of SO 4 - by heat-activated PS were ∼ 100 % and 83.9 % at pH 4 and 7. SO 4 – -assisted oxidation was of great concern and the accurate interpretation of reaction pathway was crucial. Innovatively, this study introduced compound-specific isotope fractionation analysis (CSIA) into atrazine (ATZ) degradation by heat-activated persulfate (PS), in order to provide "in-situ" and "fingerprinted" analysis of reaction contribution and bond cleavage process based on isotope fractionation. As results, radical oxidants including SO 4 - and OH were generated through thermal activation of PS, and proved to play dominate roles in ATZ degradation. Inconceivably, the isotope fractionation by single SO 4 -dominated reaction showed weak and positive C isotope fractionation, with ε C of 1.58 ‰ at pH 4 and 0.65 ‰ at pH 7, respectively. Reactions by single SO 4 - and OH can be distinguished resulting from their significantly different ε and Ʌ C/H values. Changes of δ13C and δ2H values during ATZ degradation by heat-activated PS followed Rayleigh equation well, with the ε C , ε H and Ʌ C/H values of −1.5 ‰, −21.1 ‰, 6.60 at pH 4 and −2.7 ‰, −36.6 ‰, 10.02 at pH 7 respectively. The relative contribution of SO 4 - radical to ATZ degradation was ca.100 % at pH 4 and 83.9 % at pH 7. The isotope fractionation study and DFT calculations suggested that single electron transfer with the cleavage of C-Cl bond was dominated and displayed inverse C isotope fractionation for SO 4 - oxidation, which was different from that of OH oxidation and more selective to dehalogenate reaction. [Display omitted] • 2-TPAA is adopted to post-treat CsPbI 2 Br perovskite film. • The Pb2+ defects are passivated by carboxyl and thiophene group respectively. • The α-CsPbI 2 Br is stable in air via surface reconstruction and passivation effect. Inorganic CsPbX 3 (X = Cl, Br, I) perovskite without volatile organic components in crystal lattice, has outstanding thermal stability and broad application prospects. Various strategies have been adopted to restrain the notorious phase transition process (from cubic to orthorhombic phase) for high photoelectric conversion efficiency (PCE). Nevertheless, most studies simply focus on the surface passivation of perovskite films, ignoring the influence of surface element segregation, which is inevitable during perovskite crystallization and growth process. Herein, 2-thiopheneacetic acid (2-TPAA) was adopted to reconstruct the surface of CsPbI 2 Br film via secondary growth process. The constituent elements of CsPbI 2 Br especially Br- enrich on the surface under the action of 2-TPAA. Meanwhile, the carboxyl and thiophene groups of 2-TPAA bidentate anchor Pb2+ ions respectively, forming protective layer to inhibit the invasion of external factors. In addition, the film morphology, moisture resistance, thermodynamic stability as well as carrier transport performance of perovskite films also get improved significantly. The black phase of CsPbI 2 Br survives in air ambient for several days, via the synergism of surface reconstruction and passivation effect. Furthermore, the device PCE increased to 15.03%, and retained 90% initial PCE during 400 d aging. • A hybrid composite approach is demonstrated for high energy density sodium-ion storage. • Iron sulfide/sulfurized polyacrylonitrile hybrid nanofibers were successfully synthesized as a hybrid anode material. • A flexible and free-standing anode without binder, current collector and additional conductive additives was realized. • The self-supporting anode exhibited excellent high-rate sodium-ion storage with stable cycling performance. Sodium-ion based energy storage systems have attracted extensive attention due to the similarities in the mechanism of operation with lithium-ion batteries along with the additional benefit of low cost and high abundance of sodium resources. Iron sulfide-based electrodes that operate via conversion mechanism have shown ample potential for high energy sodium-ion storage. However, the problems related with tremendous volume changes and the dissolution of sodium polysulfides in the electrolyte deteriorate the cycle life and limit their application in sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). Herein, a hybrid anode material, FeS/SPAN-HNF, with iron sulfide (FeS) nanoparticles decorated in a sulfurized polyacrylonitrile (SPAN) fiber matrix is demonstrated as flexible and free-standing anode material for high-rate SIBs. Unlike previous strategies in which FeS is encapsulated in an electrochemically inactive carbon matrix, this study utilizes SPAN, an electrochemically active material, as a dual functional matrix that can efficiently buffer volume expansion and sulfur dissolution of FeS nanoparticles as well as provide significant capacity improvement. The as-designed electrode is self-standing and flexible, without current collectors, binders or additional conductive agents, thus rendering enhanced practical capacity and energy density. This electrode showed a high reversible capacity of 782.8 mAh g−1 at 200 mA g−1 with excellent high rate capability, maintaining 327.5 mAh g−1 after 500 cycles at 5 A g−1, emphasizing promising prospects for the development of flexible and high energy density SIBs.
