A nanozyme-like colorimetric sensing strategy based on persulfate activation on Co-based metal – organic frameworks is developed for biomolecule detection in solution and on paper strips. By switching from H2O2 activation on nanozymes to catalytic persulfate activation, this general strategy provides higher sensitivity, faster speed, and wider application ranges for detection. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) possess excellent advantages, such as high porosity, large specific surface area, and an adjustable structure, showing good potential for applications in gas adsorption and separation, catalysis, conductivity, sensing, magnetism, etc. However, they still suffer from significant limitations in terms of the scale-up synthesis and shaping, hindering the realization of large-scale commercial applications. Despite some attempts having been devoted to addressing this, challenges remain. In this paper, we outline the advantages and drawbacks of existing synthetic routes such as electrochemistry, microwave, ultrasonic radiation, green solvent reflux, room temperature stirring, steam-assisted transformation, mechanochemistry, and fluid chemistry in terms of scale-up production. Then, the shaping methods of MOFs such as extrusion, mechanical compaction, rolling granulation, spray drying, gel technology, embedded granulation, phase inversion, 3D printing and other shaping methods for the preparation of membranes, coatings and nanoparticles are discussed. Finally, perspectives on the large-scale synthesis and shaping of MOFs are also proposed. Direct conversion of diluted CO2 to value-added chemical stocks and fuels with solar energy is an energy-saving approach to relieve global warming and realize a carbon-neutral cycle. The exploration of catalysts with both efficient CO2 adsorption and reduction ability is significant to achieving this goal. Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are emerging in the field of low-concentration CO2 reduction due to their highly tunable structure, high porosity, abundant active sites and excellent CO2 adsorption capacity. This highlight outlines the advantages of MOFs for low-pressure CO2 adsorption and the strategies to improve the photocatalytic performance of MOF materials at low CO2 concentrations, including the functionalization of organic ligands, regulation of metal nodes and preparation of MOF composites or derivatives. This paper aims to provide possible avenues for the rational design and development of catalysts with the ability to reduce low-concentration CO2 efficiently for practical applications. The effects of a series of MOFs on the adsorption and separation of lithium isotopes were investigated in this paper. Seven kinds of MOF were prepared, and the characterization studies of MIL-100(Fe) before and after adsorption by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) demonstrated the potential chemical interaction between Fe and Li. The influence of metal ions, counter-ions and solvents on the adsorption capacity and separation factor was investigated. The maximum separation factor can reach 1.048 ± 0.001.
