Abstract

The article presents information on a study conducted on the biological control of fusarium head blight (FHB) of wheat by using Clonostachys rosea strain ACM941. FHB is a disease of wheat caused by Gibberella zeae. It was found that strain ACM941 reduced mycelial growth of the pathogen and suppressed spore germination when co-cultured with Gibberella zeae. When strain ACM941 was sprayed on wheat 2 days before inoculation with Gibberella zeae, it reduced infected spikelets significantly.
