The article presents information on several changes in Canada's clothing market due to trade liberalization since 1989. After the Free Trade Agreement between Canada and the U.S., there was a remarkable increase in clothing exports from Canada to the U.S. After the lifting of quotas for all World Trade Organization member countries during 1995-2002, there had been a considerable increase in clothing imports by China from the Canadian cloth market.

Abstract
The article presents information about the effects of trade liberalization on the Canadian clothing market . It examines the transition in the market owing to free trade with the United States and developing countries like China, India and Bangladesh. Its influence on domestic production and employment is also discussed.
