Pursuant to the decision delivered by the House of Lords in Dunnachie v Kingson upon Hull City Council, unfair dismissal claimants can no longer file claims against their employers for hurt feelings. Employers, however, will remain liable for compensation if their ill treatment was not part of the unfair dismissal process as mentioned in the decisions in Willliams v Magnox Electric and McCabe v Cornwall County Council. Implications of the judgments are discussed.
