The article focuses on the decision of builder Irvin J. Kahn to experiment with prefabrications and take a risky act on advances in technology for the development of homes in Borrego Springs Park in California. Kahn found that prefabrication can be build in a wide range of styles and can also be build fast, making it unnecessary for a builder to tie up capital in interim financing. According to the Home Manufacturers Association, the cost of each house package average over 4,000 dollars.
