Abstract

The thermal decomposition of bromomagnesium N-aryl- or N-alkyl-N-bromomagnesio-dithiocarbamate (3), prepared in situ from amines, carbon disulfide, and a Grignard reagent, is a new and convenient method for the preparation of aryl or alkyl isothiocyanate.
