A house or any other building without walls is truly hard to imagine. The first thing usually associated with walls is, of course, masonry. Today, masonry walls perform a load-bearing function in buildings up to four above-ground floors, in the higher parts of the buildings they perform a protective and stiffening function. However, there is a widespread opinion that the designer does not have to check the bearing capacity of masonry structures because masonry are were stand, are standing and will stand. Not everyone, however, currently works the wall as it should. The problem is that a lot of emphasis is now placed on reducing construction times. Therefore, there are a number of factors affecting the quality of the masonry structure, which overall reduce their safety. The article presents the influence of the quality of masonry on the differentiation of bearing capacity and reliability of an example masonry structure. The analyses included various values γm of the partial factor, recommended in the national annex PN-EN 1996-1, depending on the category of masonry units, class execution of works and type of mortar. In addition, a decrease in load capacity and reliability caused by the increase of the initial eccentric resulting from the inaccuracy of the masonry wall was examined.

Compliance criteria for the sample size n = 3 have a lot of disadvantages [5,6,7] and they can affect the reduction of quality of produced concrete and, consequently, they can cause too much risk of the recipient (the investor) side. Therefore, the effect of the sample size on the defined quality index of produced concrete has been evaluated. The effect of the sample size and standard deviation on the reliability index of reinforced concrete structures has also been determined.The impact analysis of compliance criteria on the reliability index of reinforced concrete structures was conducted for a compression column. The obtained values of the reliability index results confirm the correctness of the quality index formula and concrete quality proposed in method of defining.

The following paper presents the analysis of the reliability assessment of a reinforced concrete beam whose shear zone was formed with the use of various truss models. Model 1 is a truss model that was generated using topological optimization. Model 2 is an intuitive model with vertical, tension bars which represent reinforcement in the shear zone by means of stirrups. Model 3 is a statically indeterminate truss. The conducted analysis of reliability of a support node formed with the use of three substitute trusses of varied topology shows that statically determinate models produce lower structural reliability than statically indeterminate models and thus the optimization of ST models should be considered on multi-criteria basis with the aim of obtaining models that are characterized by optimum stiffness and maximum reliability.
