Abstract

The article discusses findings of a study on inferior survival in advanced systemic mastocytosis associated with mutation of ASXL1 and CBL genes. It states that KIT D816V mutation is considered as the driver mutation in systemic mastocytosis (SM), and mentions that patients with conditions like chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (CMML), and acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) were analyzed. It notes that mutations in the non-KIT genes ASXL1, CBL and SETBP1 were associated with overall survival.
