Abstract: The article presents a study that examines the systemic adverse effects of intravitreal injections of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) inhibiting drugs. The study uses a nested case-control design to determine the association between VEGF and cardiovascular health to 91,378 adults ages 66 years or older with histories of retinal disease in Ontario. The result of the study indicates that there were no significant vascular risks of VEGF.

Abstract: The article discusses results of a study that examines the effect of Cardiovascular Health Awareness Program (CHAP, a standardised and centrally supported community-wide cardiovascular health and disease prevention initiative on hospital admissions for acute myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure and stroke. The study methodology is discussed. The study observed the importance of small shifts in the distribution of risk factors on the cardiovascular health of subjects. It confirms significant reductions in hospital admissions for congestive heart failure and acute myocardial infarction but not for stroke.
