A roundtable discussion with Black feminist scholars Ariane Cruz, Siobhan Brooks and Angela Jones on Black feminist uses of the erotic is presented. Topics include the erotic as an aspect of Black feminist theory and Black womanhood, patriarchal system as suppression of women's erotic power, Black women's pleasure as central site of social change and self-actualization, Black joy as a practice towards liberation, and assault on Black male sexuality under capitalism and white supremacy.

Topics discussed include the political insignificance of the 1920s essay "Black Internationalism" by Martinican writer Jane Nardal, influence of the intellectual dominance of Négritude poets in the failure of Martinican women to assert their voices, and effect of the Black male intelligentsia on Négritude women.

This article relates the author's experience of being an African American feminist lesbian activist in the U.S. She claims that her parents have always been involved in local, national and international human rights struggles since the mid-1960s. African American feminists Audre Lorde and Toni Cade Bambara are the two women who have had a profound influence on her life. She chose to use film/video as the medium and tool to make progressive spiritual social change irresistible.

This article relates the author's experience of being an African American feminist in the U.S. She claims that her life's work is to end male and white supremacy. According to her, white supremacist politics affect African-American women in the country. Her first experience of sexual trauma was when she was kidnapped from a Girl Scout outing and raped when she was eleven years old. She then relates the other trauma in her life that made her committed to fight the oppression of women.
