The article discusses a new surgical technique for urethroplasty that aims to preserve the bulbospongiosus muscle in patients with proximal bulbar urethral strictures. By avoiding the traditional one-sided dissection approach and selectively cutting the muscle's monolateral insertion, this technique offers promising results in maintaining both micturition and sexual function. The study conducted on 19 patients showed positive outcomes with no recurrence of strictures and notable preservation of ejaculatory function, highlighting the importance of preserving the bulbospongiosus muscle in urethroplasty for improved postoperative outcomes and patient quality of life.
