The article reports on the research paper "To the Taxonomist and Ecologist Whose Fight Is the Preservation of Nature" on taxonomist's and ecologist's role in the protection of environment, presented at a symposium on Systematics and Natural Areas of the 13th Annual Symposium of the Missouri Botanical Garden on Systematic Biology at Rebstock Hall Auditorium in Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, on October 15, 1966. The paper discussed a platform based on the understanding of human evolution and it's meaning to conservation and talked about the fundamental reasons for nature preservation. It also talked about the social responsibility of systematic biology.
