Abstract

The article presents a study that isolates schizosacchamyces pombe syntaxin 1 homolog genes Psy1-S1 by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) mutagenesis to know whether Psy1 is involved in sporulation. The study reported the assembly of the forepore membrane (FSM) in Psy1-S1 cells and the overproduction of Syb1 and Sec9, the N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptor (SNARE) proteins. The result indicates the role of Psy1 in FSM formation.
