Abstract

Ultraviolet absorption melting profiles, Raman and FTIR spectroscopies, and vibrational spectroscopic analyses were employed in the investigation of the structure of two tetraloops, UCCG and UGCG, both belonging to the UNCG family. The structural features of these tetraloops are similar to those of UUCG and UACG except that unlike the second nucleotide in UUCG and UACG which exhibit a exhibit a 2'-endo/anti conformation, the second nucleotide of UCCG and UGCG exhibit a 3'-endo/anti conformation.
